I was blessed enough to work with the Honorable Judge James Hankinson, many years ago, shortly after graduating from Law School. I came here to hear him give this verdict; I wasn’t aware he’d presided over this case & wanted to hear his voice again. This man helped guide my career path. The LAST THING I expected was to see comments making FUN of this man; mocking how he spoke, mocking his voice, disparaging a man whose life was dedicated to being an upstanding, HONEST, & KIND individual. For those who decided it was “funny” to tear down a man who was in constant, horrific pain, DAILY, but NEVER let it stop him from don’t what’s right, you should be ashamed of yourselves. It's somewhat galling watching her cry and sook - it's as though she has no comprehension of how her actions have destroyed the lives of other people and she can only think of herself. She needs to be in prison, it's chilling to think people like her exist in the community.
I think she's crying here because the realization of the situation is sinking in she's thinking it's because of me that I. ruined the life of my children's father for my own greedy wants it's sinking in and it's evident.
The only thing that concerned her was that she thought she might get a Not Guilty verdict and go home. Once she knew the verdict was not for her, she knew she was not going home and there was going to be a re-trail for her.
I think the reason she got so upset when his verdict was read, was because it started with her, she introduced him to the forbidden fruit. Heartbreaking for so many, especially the fatherless children.

Wow... First time I seen this. And today is Dec 5. 2023. Since today 4 people are in jail and Donna was arrested a few days ago. This crime inpacted so many people its quite frightening. I believe Donna was the ring leader.
Nope. Wendi started it by convincing her family that Dan was evil, when Wendi was the one who stole a half million from Dan and committed perjury as a lawyer. She was about to be forced to turn over the stolen money, and lose her law license. Dan was about to crush her in court, so she had him murdered. She set a whole lot of people up to take the fall, even her family and her then boyfriend. Luckily for the sweet innocent boyfriend he changed his travel plans without telling her, which saved him from being set up, but her family couldn’t keep their mouths shut. So now the whole charade is falling around her, and she will soon join her brother, mother, hitmen, and the hitman’s go-between girlfriend Kate in prison, hopefully for the rest her miserable life. To quote Wendi on the morning of the murder, who texted this phrase to her brother Charlie two hours before Dan was shot twice in the head, “This is so sweet”.
The crazy thing is Luis Rivera only received 19 years in total for participating in the murder of a human being. And somehow the family ( periodontist)who appears to have a hand in this murder is walking away clean without any repercussions. Something is definitely wrong with this trial and the way it was handled. These people committed a horrible crime but the people or person who enlisted them is not facing the music sort of speaking. I think they need to take a long hard look into the periodontist , ex wife etc... a lot seems to be slipping through the cracks and only the pawns got sentenced.
Charlie the pareodontist has now been charged. New audio evidence has been developed. There is video of the actual shooters following Dan. The prosuction has to work with what they have. I believe Wendi will go to prison after guilty Katy talks.
Sometimes fate just comes down to what lawyers you choose. Saw a podcast last night where Luis Riveras lawyer aggressively convinced him to take a plea deal. If Katie took a deal she would have probable done little time if any, and at least her and Sigfredo´s kids would have one parent. Of course would have brought down the whole Adelson clan much sooner.
Yeah they offered her one. No jail time at all. She could've walked free and moved on like nothing happened. Twice they offered her. That's probably why she is crying. Kids have no parents now.
Katie had the final say to her decision so it's not solely 100% lawyers' fault that she did not took the deal. She thought she would be acquitted, simple. Because at both trials, the only direct evidence that they have about her involvement in the murder case is from Luis Rivera. Other evidences are purely circumstantial. So the jurors had the final say about her mistrial in the 1st one, because not all of them believed Luis Rivera's testimony. Jessica Rodriguez was not present at the 1st trial to testify about the money drop so it's a battle of credibility between Rivera and Katie, which both took the witness stand. The advantage that Katie got here is that she had no prior felon records in contrast to Rivera which is a gang member, which I believed some jurors were convinced of her innocence. Now that I think about it, she almost got away with the murder and she convinced herself that she had nothing to do with this.
I’d assume it’s the sudden realization that she’s heading to the pokey for the rest of her days are what’s causing all the whinging and carrying on. Her life is essentially over, no more kids, no more clubs, no more Florida beaches, and she’ll never see her (crazy asf) baby daddy Sigredo Garcia ever again. Katie has a sad 😔

The state got Garcia on murder and conspiracy to commit murder, and 11-1 to convict Katie on 3 counts. The state couldn't have been that bad. That one hold out disregarded the law in favor of their emotion. I wouldn't be surprised to find out the pregnant juror was the holdout.

If the State is not sharper they will not get the same outcome with the Adelson's. They will have high powered Lawyers that will chew the State up. So yes the outcome was in the States favor but overall if the Defense had better Lawyers they might have beat this case. This is why the Adelson's haven't been charged yet.
Magbanua has no justification for tears other than self pity. She wouldn't be in this position if she hadn't suggested a someone who could kill Markel for Adelson.

I have been rewatching the trial in anticipation of Charlie's trial this fall. Katie was given a gift on a silver platter and she should have rolled right over on Charlie for immunity. She is going to die in prison now rolling the dice and losing.

Followed him around like two blood hounds, and shot him in the head twice. Imagine if they were told by this Judge, that within a week the same fate will come to you, once you reach the big house.

Sometimes fate just comes down to what lawyers you choose. Saw a podcast last night where Luis Riveras lawyer aggressively convinced him to take a plea deal. If Katie took a deal she would have probable done little time if any, and at least her and Sigfredo´s kids would have one parent. Of course would have brought down the whole Adelson clan much sooner.
Yeah they offered her one. No jail time at all. She could've walked free and moved on like nothing happened. Twice they offered her. That's probably why she is crying. Kids have no parents now.

Katie had the final say to her decision so it's not solely 100% lawyers' fault that she did not took the deal. She thought she would be acquitted, simple. Because at both trials, the only direct evidence that they have about her involvement in the murder case is from Luis Rivera. Other evidences are purely circumstantial. So the jurors had the final say about her mistrial in the 1st one, because not all of them believed Luis Rivera's testimony. Jessica Rodriguez was not present at the 1st trial to testify about the money drop so it's a battle of credibility between Rivera and Katie, which both took the witness stand. The advantage that Katie got here is that she had no prior felon records in contrast to Rivera which is a gang member, which I believed some jurors were convinced of her innocence. Now that I think about it, she almost got away with the murder and she convinced herself that she had nothing to do with this.

If the State is not sharper they will not get the same outcome with the Adelson's. They will have high powered Lawyers that will chew the State up. So yes the outcome was in the States favor but overall if the Defense had better Lawyers they might have beat this case. This is why the Adelson's haven't been charged yet.
