What's good #GustoGang, hope you enjoy this Chinatown Chicago neighborhood guide! This is one of my favorite areas in the city and this film is my love letter to Chinatown ⛩
I went to China town a lot with my preschool a lot but I don’t really remember any of it
i go down to china town and explore all the time, theres literally so much to do, see and learn there. It was very good experience for me and my friends exploring there and seeing all the food and landmarks there are. I am an 8th grade student and I go to the school by china town so i go down there once or twice a week just to hang out, chill explore and get food.
Great tour. I basically grew up in Chinatown and I love your energy and coverage of all the history of the community. It's still so wild to see the new library after going to the one on Wentworth for so long!!
As a local Chinese resident really appreciate how you guys promote the local businesses and the history of Chinatown! 👍 Oh btw..like those Jordan 13s "He Got Game" you got on!I still haven't rock my pair yet. Lol..
Thanks for the love! Those shoes are so comfortable, I def need more 13s haha 👟
Another great walking tour. China Town looks so cute. I've never been there but it's on my list.
Thanks so much Arlene! It's really a great place to visit and like I mentioned, very welcoming 😀
Wow, look at those soup dumplings!!! Looking forward to 40 minutes for just the food and drinks section next time, please!!!!
Qxy has some of the best soup dumplings! Check out our Chinatown food tour linked in the description 😉🥟
This was exceptionally done! 👍 I’m particularly glad you highlighted St. Therese Chinese Catholic Church, since it’s usually overlooked because it’s on a small street (not Archer, Cermak, or Wentworth), and how they offer Masses in multiple languages.
I really appreciate the kind words! Would love to attend a mass at St. Therese, it's beautiful inside!
@@LuisGustoComedy Yeah! I encourage you to go for Good Friday/Holy Saturday/Easter this weekend!
I love the dragon wall and that they have statues of the 12 zodiac animals!! 🐕🐕
That dragon wall is legit, would love to see the one it's based off in Beihai Park!!
the colors on that wall are so pretty!
My goodness - amazing architecture!! Had no idea Chinatown looked like this.
The historic architecture in the neighborhood is super underrated, I'm happy I was able to highlight some of my favorites. There was even an Art Deco masterpiece, the "Chinese Merchandise Mart" that was sadly demolished.
The Pui Tak Center & Moy Association Building are my two favorites in the neighborhood!!
It's not Chinatowm but you might be interested to learn that Bridgeport next to Armour Square/Chinatown now has more Chinese people living in it than Chinatown. Not the same, but some good Chinese restaurants on Halsted, a few temples, and a great art studio gallery (Zhou B..check it out). A lot of Chinese now in Brighton Park, McKinley Park, and increasingly Archer Heights.
Chinatown is expanding now across the river. Giant warehouse was renovated ar 2105 S Jefferson and has a giant Chinese supermarket now, food court, multiple restaurants, etc. Hotel possibly coming on the river in an old warehouse too with even more restaurants .
Good stuff, thanks for the info!
At this rate, I'll be a Chicago local before even moving there. Love em videos 👌👌 Can't wait to call this city home in a few months
Haha that's great to hear! Thank you so much for the kind words ✌
It’s been a minute since you posted a neighborhood guide. Always appreciate the amount of work you put into these types of videos. Looking forward to the neighborhood guides on the west side of Chicago! 🥰
Yes sir! More neighborhood guides coming this year, west side is definitely up next! Appreciate you bro!! 💯❤️
I really like Ping Tom park it's a relatively safe area I like the water and vibe there
Thank you for using traditional Chinese characters at the start!
My pleasure! I saw them written and thought it would be nice for the title screen 😎
I love this area!! I’d travel to Chicago just to eat there 😂
I feel ya! That would be well worth the trip!!
SAME!!!!
Lol I go to China town a lot bc I live there lol
you should try joy yee noodle, chi cafe, strings ajoomahs apron and happy lamb!!!
We’re coming to visit and expecting lots of yummy food!! 😋😋
It's been my pleasure to visit this vibrant place in June 2019. Vancouver's Chinatown has long been dead due to presence of the nearby skid row.
My friend and I spent the day in Chinatown yesterday and we had a great time! Appreciate your videos, so much. The mooncakes from the old bakery were amazing, and lunch at china inn was fab! We got reflexology foot massage right near the arch after all our walking, so nice! Definitely recommend a visit to this neighborhood, I'll be back. 👏😁
Amazing! Glad to hear you had a great time, yes I love those mooncakes. Appreciate the love!! 💯🐂
Ping Tom park is really a Chicago gem and I really want to go on a water taxi ride. Maybe do a walking tour of Pilsen and Albany Park next.
I’m moving to Chicago from Atlanta n every one of ur videos I watch I get more excited!!!!
I rode the water Taxi in the summer of 2019 with my friends Luis. I need to ride the water taxi again in the summer and pay a visit to Chinatown.
The water taxi is an incredible service in the city and my favorite way to get to Chinatown 😎
I like the pace of this video. You got right into it and gave great information. Thank you.
These videos are helpful to see even for a long time resident of Chicago😌 There is so much of the city that I still haven’t explored.
Loving this channel. Great stuff.
how do you only have 12k subs.. this quality is tv ready
I appreciate that, gonna keep hustlin 💯😎
Hi Luis, thank you for your videos- I'm from Texas, and planning my trip to Chicago soon. Your videos are really insightful. Thank you.
Thank you Luis, we made our first visit today and really enjoyed the bakery. So grateful for your suggestions 😊
Great to hear! Thank you!
Cool! My husband is throwing my 60 th birthday party there. I cant wait!!!! The food is incredible and i love the history!
Love your channel! Its helping me plan my visit in May.
Thank you so much Catie!!
Another awesome tour! Glad i showed up to those live streams last month for lunar new year. You covered the north side, south side, come down to the west side and check out Clearing/Midway Airport area😎😀
Thanks bro!! Most definitely, very soon 😎💯
Now I would live there in Chinatown chicago, that is the best part of the city in chicago.
Great video of the amazing street scape. Keep the footage coming.
Thanks!!
I just ran into your channel because my wife and I are taking Amtrak to Chicago. You gave me so much info about Chinatown. We were not going to Chinatown, but since all the info you gave me, I will be visiting. I will look at your other things to visit in Chicago. Thank you.
Thanks Scott, a visit to Chinatown Chicago is always a good visit!
Just found out I will be in Chicago during Taste of Chicago
Do you have any info about it and what it is? I heard they are making changes because of covid.
great video as always luis!
Thank you, appreciate the love!
You’re a very good tour guide ✨
You've done a lot of homework! Very informative. Thanks!!

Great video as always LG. Please do a walking tour of the Pilsen area.
Appreciate it Eric! Most definitely!!
Great tour..need to visit Chinatown soon 👍💙
Thanks Joseph! Yea it's definitely a great neighborhood to visit!
Excellent video Luis! I’m so bummed that I didn’t have time on our trip to go on the water taxi 🙁. Maybe you could do a video on it 😁
Love going here, the food is amazing I personally always get some green peach tea boba and some rolled ice cream and sometimes some Ramen as well
I stayed at the McCormick Hampton Inn. I took the green line and red line from Cermak. The fire house filmed a scene in the movie "Backdraft". 🚒👩🚒👨🚒🔥 I feel like the Chinatown in New York is also taking over it's neighbor Little Italy.
Well done! Saying hello from NYC :)
Thank you so much!! 🗽
Thank you for respecting Chinese culture.. Thank the blogger and everyone
Thank you!
One of the best places in Chicago💜
💯
Thanks, love the videos! I was thinking it’d be nice if while describing the neighborhood borders, you put up a map so we could visualize it a bit easier
Much appreciated Logan!! 😎

Coming soon!
Dude I just went there to Vaction to Chicago this year
my summer vacation my Chinese Zodiac is the Rat the first
Chinese Zodiac created by the Jade Emperor’s animal race
[Gosh Dang!!!!]
I like Southeast Asia as far as the culture. The Philippines in particular but I appreciate Chinese history and culture.
Have you done a video on fine dining in Chicago?
We just did a River North food tour, there are a couple of fine dining options in that one!
Gotta get the pork buns and the shrimp and pork fried rice ball.
Yes you definitely should! They’re so good!!
Please keep in mind the characters on the Chinatown gate are read the ancient way from right to left. It's different from modern Chinese which is read from left to right.
That's dope, thanks for the knowledge!
where all the livestream walking tours 😭 i was making my way thru them and i noticed they’re missing
Same, I think you have to be a member!
@@jesslivin_xo that sucks... 😪 thanks for the reply
Thanks for watching! They are public on the channel for only 72 hours. Members of my Patreon at the Chicago ‘L’ Train tier or higher get lifetime access to all the live walking tours in the archive 😅
@@LuisGustoComedy oh thanks for the clarification. i am a new subscriber lol gold to know
Is there a lot of accommodation there to live and cheap around china town ??/
#gustogang You should visit Pilsen. Thank you for the tour.
You're welcome! For sure!!
Can you list the names of the restaurants you mentioned?
Does anyone know if there are souvenir shops in Chinatown Chicago like Chinatown Manhattan
Lincoln park
Where is a great street or place to shop for souvenirs?
For example: in New York, Chinatown in Canal street is so much fun and not expensive.
Chinatown Square has a few gift shops, there are also some on S Wentworth
👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Mohamed!
Is everything open now? Visiting on the 1th
Most restaurants are allowing indoor dining, a few are still takeout / delivery only. Many museums are open as well, all parks, and stores! Hope that helps 😎
Where do you recommend to park in Chinatown?
There is a lot right next to the train - but I recommend taking public transportation
