What's good #GustoGang? Hyde Park has been the most requested Chicago neighborhood by far, so we took our time to get this one right. Have you lived or visited the area? And what neighborhood or city would you like us to visit next?
Can you do a Roger's Park tour please? It's a bit up there and I'm not sure what there is to do/see but that's where my Dad and his family lived before they moved to the burbs. He and I would definitely love it. The University of Chicago was where my grandfather attended to become an electrical engineer
Fantastic production!
Worked at 57th street beach lots of great memories grew up in Beverly another great neighborhood.
Brings back memories.............UC Class of 1992 !!!
💯
My daughter is a student at University of Chicago. I'd never been to Chicago before she got accepted. I absolutely LOVE Hyde Park. I feel so alive when I visit. ❤️
This was the most thorough video on the area I could find! I was admitted to law school at UChicago and couldn't visit due to the pandemic, so thank you so much for creating this.
Thanks so much Michelle, that's definitely what I was hoping for with this film! Congrats on getting accepted to UChicago Law!! 🎉🎉
My mom attended Hyde Park High School, class of ‘45. Her classmate was the great singer Mel Torme!
Nice!
I’m moving to Chicago after I graduate from school in Kansas because of a job there. You are definitely doing justice to the city with these videos as well as helping me find a nice neighborhood to move too🙌🏾💯
Love the antigue homes and vintage apartment buildings.
Thankyou keep this up we need this 💕
So happy I stumbled across you channel and this video! I will be relocating to Hyde Park from the Bay this summer for research and have never been to Chicago. These videos make me even more excited.
Wow, a well-done video and virtual tour!
great job on this video!
Interesting video, your such a genius person , making videos with details or well demonstrating ...thank you .
Very nice video of my old neighborhood. Really have not spent a lot of time in Chicago since 1961, so these little sentimental journeys bring back good memories of growing up along 55th street. Thanks a bunch for your efforts. Looking forward to more of your videos.
my friend and i recently stayed at a Hotel in Hyde park and i was impressed with how well kept up it was.
Yes my neighborhood is starting get popular specially 53rd m. On a good day that street is just busy...

It was definitely a labor of love! Thanks for watching 😎💯
Production is amazing as always and the information was packed. Thanks Luis!
Thanks Otto! Glad you enjoyed it!!
What an amazing video. Great information. Beautiful area.
Thank you so much ❤️💯
Thank you for sharing Hyde Park with us. I am glad I can say that I used to live in Hyde Park for about 5 years. There are great places to eat, museums to addend and summer parks along the Lake Michigan shoreline. And yes, I am old fashion so, I still say that I used to take the " I.C." train ride downtown. The old Illinois Central Railroad became the Illinois Central Gul Railroad back in the early 1970s and then on to the ownership to METRA.
Uptown!
YES!! No matter how far I roam HYDE PARK will always be home!
True 💯
Great lakefront Chicago neighborhood to visit & live. Great 🎥 video!!!😊
Great video guide. You captured HPKs laid back chill out vibe. I used to hangout there. The movie Love Jones really captured that vibe what it's like to live there.
Thanks Glenn! Yea I love hanging out in Hyde Park, so much to do and some great food!
Love Jones is one of my fave movies. Didn't trip that was Hyde Park. Any movie locations I should look for next time I visit?
WHAT?! Definitely going just because
Of Love Jones 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Good one Luis! Hyde Park looks great. Might just visit one day.
Another high quality, well researched video. I’m going to have to check out the Museum of Science and Industry. Amazing work Luis 👍🏻
Thank you so much James!! Yes it’s such a great museum 🏛
I love see this video thanks you for the video I moved from Chicago to Outside of Atlanta, Ga at Locust Grove, Ga I moved because for my kids but now my kids ground up I visit sometimes in my vacation👏👏💖💖💖👍👍👍👏👏
Evanston as my brother just moved there and have yet had a chance to visit.
True! I had fun touring the area a couple of weeks ago and already started putting together a nice guide 😎🙏
It's good to see that you are doing well Luis. I will visit Hyde Park when I get a chance. I found myself a studio in Irving Park. Perhaps you can make a video of Irving Park.
Appreciate ya bro! Congrats on the studio!!
This is my hood and you did a great job! I'm enjoying your channel. Keep it up!

Whoa thanks bro, that's high praise!! Hopefully by summer! 😎
My family was from Hyde Park. Mom and Dad went to Hyde Park High School in the late 40’s. I was born on Stoney Island. We left the South Side in the late 60s.
Your channel is clutch subscribed! Been living here in the chi for almost a year
Thanks Omari!
Parabéns pelo vídeo lindo
Simply the best highlights tour of Hyde Park ever. Very well done, Luis and Narissa (I hope I'm writing your name right).
Thanks Hector!
I’m gonna move here next month I can’t wait. My family lives in Hyde Park and they love the history here. I visited Chicago last weekend and it was very busy maybe because of Easter. But I had fun. Thanks for the tips!!!
Edit: I subscribed and liked this video. Great Channel
That’s dope! Yea Hyde Park is an incredible neighborhood with so much going on 😎
Thank you for subscribing!
I use to live there
At 1:38 behind you on your left is where we lived when we first moved to Chicago in 2011: The Del Prado.
You're fantastic!
Thank you so much for sharing this vedio
Thank you for watching Jen!!
Wc. LUIS
This video was pretty decent! One of these days, I'll have to try Morry's Deli. A long time favorite restaurant of mine in Hyde Park(though you didn't mention it, but no big deal and not the end of the world you didn't mention them), is Mellow Yellow. Many other decent places to eat around there too, such as Medici. I think down the road, you should consider doing a Bridgeport video, and also one for Pilsen. And I think you'd also enjoy doing one, for Beverly and Morgan Park.
My family moved to Hyde Park in 1899, and I live there (technically over the line in South Kenwood). Factlet -- my family mostly lived in South Kenwood, but referred to the whole area from 47th Street to the Midway as Hyde Park.
Kenwood is beautiful but yeah it's basically Hyde Park
Loved this! Can you do Rogers Park next?
Rogers Park is on our list!
Great informative, interesting video Luis, loved it. Some fantastic architecture, good ambience & I enjoyed the fact that you mentioned how diverse it was. The Kissing Stone is worth a visit just to emulate the Obama’s and that Nella’s Pizza 🍕😍 or Morry’s club sandwich 🥪😋, are a definite. Thanks again for keeping me entertained & enhancing my knowledge of Chicago, your great city.
We too have a Hyde Park in Leeds, that is also in the University Area, I found a lot of similarities between our 2 cities but most of all the attitudes/ personalities of the people. We will definitely meet up soon in 1 or the other, once again a great video. 🤩
Can you do a video on Boystown?
Very soon!
I had to finesse that like button 👍
Appreciate it 💯
THX.............Luis !!!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching 😎
When you go back be sure to try Roux on the U of C campus on 55th Street!
I’m moving to Hyde park in a few days.
Miss this place
💯
AYYYEEE I SAW MY COMMENT 😂Thx for the video bro 💪🏾💯
True! Thanks so much for watching bro 😎
You gotta go to Pilsen 🙌🏽
Very soon bro 😉
Enjoying your site John of Chicago
Thanks John!
I’m glad to see many of my spots still there. 😂 Why didn’t y’all go to Piccolo Mondo? It’s on 56th in a condo high rise. If you haven’t gone and if it’s still around, it’s a great date night spot and their pastries are amazing.
Great video as usual my brother! I will miss Hyde Park! Had some great years living on 55th and Hyde Park Blvd. Now I’m moving to South Loop! I love this video, channel, and most importantly, Chicago!!!!!
Appreciate it bro!! Glad to hear that you enjoyed your time living in Hyde Park, I'm sure you'll be back to visit a lot! South Loop is such a great neighborhood too 💯😎
Hi Luis!
How do you choose the restaurants to visit? Mainly make your decision from the Google / Yelp reviews? Or do you come across most of the restaurants during your walking tours?
What up bro?! Narisa handles most of the restaurant decisions, we usually ignore online reviews since they can be pretty skewed. Sometimes I'll see an interesting place on a walk and write it down for later 😎❤️
Auburn / Gresham park would make a nice tour. Grew up there with a lagoon containing swans and carp. They are bringing back a Metra station to that neighborhood.
It's on our list!
Hi luis! im planning to get an apartment there in hyde park do you have any recommendations?
i was looking for the parties
Luis. Since you’re into Chicago history, come up with historical films and photos of “Riverview, World’s Largest Amusement Park.” At least at the time. In the 50’s and 60’s, that was the happiest place on earth during the summer. Located at Western and Belmont.
Yes, I’ve read about Riverview, what a cool park 😎
Pullman!! You should check it out!
Resident of Hyde Park Cindi here
I'm a new sub and watching your videos really make me miss Chicago. I can't wait for the pandemic to end and the borders to re-open.
Thanks for subscribing Mike! I feel ya 😎💯
@@LuisGustoComedy Oh...and "Yo!" from Winnipeg, aka the Chicago of the North. 😎

Luis can you highlight BronzeVille
Absolutely, I actually started the process for Bronzeville so I'm hoping to get that done soon!
@@LuisGustoComedy thank you
Barbara Bain estudou nesta universidade
I really like cafe 53 because it’s halal.
Nice! We gotta try that place next time!
Rogers Park
