Used this to mount and wire up my 10 inch android for my EVO x. Only thing I have to do is wire a trigger wire off the yellow camera wire that was on the CAN BUS. Thank you for the help . It came out nice !!!
Lol love how you cut at 17:21 to hide the check engine you got because you started the car without the seat belt/hazard panel that sits below the radio. You gotta have that plugged in or the car throws a code.

I'm usually one that hates on backup cameras because I think they're gimmicky, but knowing how annoying it is to see out the back of these cars, I may do it just for the fact I like to tinker. However, my only gripe is those splice clips. I would suggest soldering them directly for the best possible solid connection. Love your videos though man. I've owned my X for about a year and a half now and just found your channel and loving it.

niban Glad this project gets you excited to get it done ✅ the connection in the truck will be the same but I’d try finding the diagram for the oem gps headunit to make sure you have the proper blank plugs holes to connect to. It’s an factory option so it’s for sure behind the unit but just in case it’s a different plug I’d just double check for peace of mind before you have everything apart. Andreas Schittkaeker you have to find the diagram for the gps head unit and the connection will be there 100%. The cars naturally can get a oem reverse camera so there is always a hook up just gotta find it. 👍🏼

But all I found up to now in the diagrams is the connection for the OEM video aux in. By logical thinking the reverse camera pin should be near by. Most likely in the same plug/connector. I will figure it out eventually.

@@tonocanse7770 Si no está recibiendo una señal que cambia la pantalla cuando está en reversa tiene que ser una conexión suelta que entra en el enchufe. He tenido la conexión suelta antes al instalar donde la pantalla no apareció, pero arreglarlo no hay problema al obtener una mejor conexión en el enchufe. Asegúrese de que los cables están entrando en el enchufe y mostrando un poco de alambre arrojado el otro lado. Eso debería garantizar la conexión.

Just want to know the red and yellow wires did they come with the camera. Asking because the one I have is not the same as yours. Reason being when i cut the yellow one there’s no red and black wire to extend but there 3 red,black and blue. And a red wire just outside of them.? And my red power wire is already in black and red coming out. So should I get a video wire that dose have black and red inside.

if anyone buys the camera linked the 2 wires that connects to the head unit are yellow and black i left red disconnected and works fine, i was having a hard time because on the video he uses different wiring that the one that come with the camera linked.
I got a 2011 evo, its a used model. It has the sygav aftermarket head unit. Would you know if mine came with the same head unit as you or no? It didn't come with a sub, but in the back i did find a thick blue wire that would be hooked up to a sub. the speakers sound blown as well, unless the speakers are pure trash to begin with.
Dave Budness Im almost sure the 2011’s did not come with a touch screen yet unless you had the oem navigation. If you have a after market head unit then you’d need to see if that new unit takes a reverse camera and wire it into that. I don’t have the sub either but it also has the wires if I did and yes the stock regular speakers are horrible.

Ricky Lor I just checked the link to double check. Only thing I’m spotting a little different is the loop wire that either you keep or cut for reverse lines. Besides that it has direct pictures for connections just the same as this install. Lmk if this didn’t clear it up

Hey i need help! So i recently tackled this project about a week ago and i have not been able to successfully install the back up camera. The issue im having is that im having a black screen on my head unit when i try to go in revers. once i get out of revers the screen goes back to the screen it was on previously. i have checked all my wires and even used a voltage meter to make sure my camera is getting the 12v power it needs. im stuck and i thought maybe it was the camera but i got a new one today and i had the same issue. Please help.

Alex Enriquez It should have no issues considering the reverse camera was an option on our cars from factory. That being said you’d have to find the wiring diagram for the plug behind the unit to know which two spots you will wire into

There is one free 4 or 5 pin connection on the fosgate. I checked the evo wiring diagram, but no info how or where to connect the camera.

@@xtra_slo1596 Nico EvoX I figured it out. Pain in the ass to say the least. If you have an led reverse bulb the car will still send out a little bit of power enough to keep the reverse camera mode on but not enough to power the camera. Thanks for the help though!

Joe Mazzurco stock sleeves won’t last for the power level I’d like the keep the car at plus to bore the stock block would make the structural integrity even weaker. Iron sleeves strengthen it greatly and add security for high power.
Joe Mazzurco idk if there is an exact number on it. I think anything over 700whp it would be a good investment but I’m sure there are all types of opinions on that. More then what it can hold is also how long would it last at the big power levels. With a big build and so much invested I personally think it’s worth the extra investment.

Marcos Reyes Everyone has that plug in the truck I spliced into. It’s the the rear lights for the car lol. I’ve done it on 1, 2014 and 2, 2015’s. In some weird way they are not in that location on your car then just find the wire cluster for the rear lights. Make sure you take all the panels out the truck. To find them easy follow down the wire stream coming out of the inside of the actual trunk lid running down into the body which is inside the trunk jam and into the trunk

How can I do this to my Evo? I have a 2013 GSR with the Rockford fosgate Mitsubishi multimedia screen and I don’t know what harness to tap into.

The directions for the camera should show which wire needs to be cut to delete the lines.

Your video is not clearly instructor you're splicing in wire before you are not even show the people what you're using, you're just saying color code.
