Bob drummer was an absolutely insane drummer..amazing technique..perfect grip, clean, powerful and articulate playing..not many people realize how good he was (is..)
During the long layoff by the group between 1987 and 1997, John Helliwell said he went back to school to learn how to play the saxophone. While there, he said many of the students were attending the class because of his saxophone playing on Supertramp.
The five of them were all great musicians who just had enormous chemistry together when they were at their best. Will always be my all time favourite band. I’ll listen to their music until the day I leave this earth.
Volker Arnz especially with hindsight looking at Hodgsons solo career, he thought he was gonna rip it up on his own but got his eye wiped. It was a complete travesty that they split. You only have to listen to the middle part of this song ( wah pedal guitar and piano riffs combined) to hear how great they were together.
Marcdoubleu22LFC I literally laughed out loud at the incredible verity of your statement 😂 It couldn’t be any more true, Big Ego Hodgson thought / still thinks he’s the shit.
Pink Floyd weren’t that technical, yes, Genesis, rush, and jethro Tull and gentle giant, van der Graaf generator were far more technical. Edit: oh and King crimson and ELP.
A well oiled engine - Dougie could propel a song without getting in the way of it. The band was brilliant at many levels - rhythm section flying under the radar.
A prerequisite for timeless music is great percussion. Rick was primarily a drummer. He moved to piano later on. But he is really dueling it out with the drummer. 100%. Best backing support player money can buy.
What is amazing is how Rick started off as a great drummer. He let it out recently that, as a youngster, he once got a job as an organ player and had to fake it.
I was fortunate enough to see Supertramp TWICE. I saw them play on this tour in 1977 in Milwaukee. I was sitting 2nd row, right in front of Rick Davies! Phenomenal concert!! Ty for uploading this! 💙💙
For a long long time, it was hard to see/hear good content regarding Rick and his grand talent, seemed like all there was, was that Roger guy. Great to see so many Mr. Davies fans, as expected and we can agree that the sum of that awesome band is beyond awesome. Yes, we will be listening to Supertramp for many many years. Thank you for bringing those memories back to the present and letting us see those glorious performances.
That “Roger guy” collaborated on some of the most incredible music for nearly 15 to 20 years WITH RICK. Please don’t discount Roger without Rick! And don’t discount Rick without Roger! Just enjoy the collaboration my friend. 😉
This is my favourite song by Rick. lts PACKED with stuff! l do however prefer the Paris live version. MAN they were tight! Lots and lots of suspense and just ...well you all know!
There were many more live versions at one time and Rick never played their interludes the same way. This Rick fellow here was the biggest factor in Supertramp putting out so many great accomplishments.
GRACIAS GRUPO .
Outrageous video, so good. If you wanna see a guy make a piano start smoking you’ll like this video. Didn’t realize he was that good. Inspirational to watch for a beginner piano player like myself.
Was this recorded at Queen Mary College in London? If so, I can hardly believe that I used to drink in this very building every Friday without ever knowing that Supertramp had played there, let alone this material. The staff bar at what is now QMUL is located in the top floor of the same building where I reckon Supertramp must have played.
They are AMAZING!
One of best piano player and roger hodgson played very well guitar here
Bob drummer was an absolutely insane drummer..amazing technique..perfect grip, clean, powerful and articulate playing..not many people realize how good he was (is..)
I always thought he was tastefully virtuosic!
Bob Drummer? 😂 You mean Bob Siebenberg ( C Benburg)
His drumming is awesome in this song!!
If i don't go wrong that drummer was only who wasn't british among them
He definitely had a jazz background which contributed to his perfect touch on those songs.
Beautiful song and 👌 performance

I love that Roger was recruited for his elastic voice, but also happened to be an absolute master of tone on guitar
The consummate musician - great at everything. This is not Roger’s first time on planet earth he’s been a balladeer throughout the universe.
The five of them were all great musicians who just had enormous chemistry together when they were at their best. Will always be my all time favourite band. I’ll listen to their music until the day I leave this earth.
Matt McQuade increadable musicians
Never gets old this music and one never gets «tired» of it!
So do I! It was a sin to terminate Supertramp with the successful constellation.
Volker Arnz especially with hindsight looking at Hodgsons solo career, he thought he was gonna rip it up on his own but got his eye wiped. It was a complete travesty that they split. SUPERTRAMP along with Pink Floyd have to be the Greatist technical band of all Time!
Pink Floyd weren’t that technical, yes, Genesis, rush, and jethro Tull and gentle giant, van der Graaf generator were far more technical. Edit: oh and King crimson and ELP.
Listen invisible, it's an argentine band
Rick was the Dave Gilmour of the piano
Camel and Eloy :). King Crimson absolutely.
OnSh and those as well lol.
What to say?Simply, even enchanted and surpressed!..
Love the Dougie bass on this screamer!
A well oiled engine - Dougie could propel a song without getting in the way of it. The band was brilliant at many levels - rhythm section flying under the radar.
Where are the great bands like this today ? Jeezus these guys are talented.
True, they don`t seem to make em like this anymore, they sure had the talent in spades.
And live they really were something else!!
There's none, all is shite now

Just imagine all the great music they would have released had Roger not left the band when he did. Such a shame when you stop and think about it.
Cuando Supertramp, la ELO y Pink
Floyd eran los amos del universo. Y Bowie! Yo quiero volver a 1977! I wanna go back to 77!
I think this is my favorite Supertramp song along with Two of us, this song is superb
Rick's mom said that, as a boy, he once watched a drum Corp go marching by, marched off behind them and never really returned after that.
Supertramp Forever and Ever 🎶🎤🎷🎹🎸
Supertramp always takes you on a trip
I was fortunate enough to see Supertramp TWICE. I saw them play on this tour in 1977 in Milwaukee. I was sitting 2nd row, right in front of Rick Davies! Phenomenal concert!!
Ty for uploading this! 💙💙
How lucky you are. ...
UA-cam are so riche!!!
So riche
The instrumentals in this song are brilliant. Never heard anything like it! From all members. Rick and Roger both really shine in this song though! 🥰
Excelente poder apreciar este video. Y ese solo de piano: único, majestuoso... Gracias Timothée Savary por compartirlo.
This song seems almost jazz...wonderful

Rogers playing the Wacka Wacka guitar... And I love them both

Masterpiece Song!!!!
Best version of this track 100%
ManyThanx!!!! Simply Brilliant!!!,!, I saw them two nites in a row at The LA Forum In the 70’s!!,!, Will never Forget That!!,!,
Thanks
Always preferred Rick singing and Roger playing guitar
Me too!
Roger is a good guitarist. In this song, he has interesting arrangements
Roger hodgson has got many talents as well richard davies...but perhaps mister davies had more jazz singing voice than mister hodgoson
Another great band I grew up with and still going strong today 2020 not like the shit that on the radio now
Supertramp no consumen drogas
"77
I like the intro and the end and all the bits inbetween the best
I am so glad I seen this band in the middle 70’s 4 times !!
And God created The Supertramp! But they ate from that famous apple🍏 of envy and hatred and were thrown out of the paradise!😥
Wow, i never saw a live version of "Another man´s woman". Thank you for uploading this. 👍😀
There were many more live versions at one time and Rick never played their interludes the same way. This Rick fellow here was the biggest factor in Supertramp putting out so many great accomplishments.

thank you for uploading this! been looking for it for years. one of the best jams ever
Rick é um grande músico. Líder original do Supertramp. Adoro!
Claro que sim,más tirránico!
Muito bem elaborado pelo Rick Davis. Guitarra do Roger Hudgson!
The middle part, where Rick starts to improvise, resembles some jams of The Meters. Check out their 'Ain't No Use' (long versions) to see what I mean.
That intro is K I L L I N G me
Thanks for this, great quality. Hope someone has more from this concert in 1977 of the same good quality
I can send you a link to a stereo performance of the whole thing minus Fools overture
Eli Farmer link please?

Magistral.

Grandes Supertramp.
the end is like a nina simone song! awesome!
That was awesome! Thank you for uploading 👍
Hoy no oigo nada igual.
Nice video good quality,

Outrageous video, so good. If you wanna see a guy make a piano start smoking you’ll like this video. Didn’t realize he was that good. Inspirational to watch for a beginner piano player like myself.

This seems a jazz song
This looks like it was taken from the Queens hall 1977 concert?
Capos capos

It was live in queen Marys college London 1977
What means more than SUBLIME?!?..
Before Roger, they were progressive rock band, with Roger, they become pop rock band.
Better than reggaetón !!!!!
Uufff

You shouldn’t thumb down a guy who can play the piano better with his two thumbs than you can with both hands.
Marcdoubleu22LFC That’s why I commented. Because I can; it’s not difficult.
Rick Davies !🤩🤗
