I was driving cab in 1983 in Vancouver when they did their farewell tour. The boss wouldn't give me the day off so I took the cab and parked it outside the East Airlock of BC Place, turned out the cab sign and just enjoyed the music. Didn't make much money that day but my God, what an evening !!!
Stationed in Germany 1979 went to Frankfurt festahalle to see Supertramp one of the best concerts I've ever been to.Still to this day I listen to them in Awe such music geniuses.
This song is one of my favorites. To me it's rather mysterious, but I love it. I must have played a thousand times. I saw them in Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1982 (or 83 ?). A perfect show. I still put their albums on my pick up player. I am 65 now, I think, music from those years are the best!
I am 57 now and remember their classic songs when I was 10 and up! My brother is a little older and had all their albums. We had so much variety and talent back in the day. I have noticed many younger generations are discovering these classics that will continue to live well beyond this ONE HIT WONDER AGE!
Les larmes coulent toute ma jeunesse j ai 62 ans le temps passe vite c etait la chanson de mon amoureux j avais 20 ans il a rejoind les etoiles je pense à toi patrick 😢❤❤❤❤
One of my absolute Favorites especially live seen every Tour since 71 but there so magical in a small venue like the Tower Theater + my wives 2nd favorite after Moody Blues I miss this fantastic Music of my life 😊
Classic. Masterpiece. Great Supertramp. Excellent album. Very good songs from the beginning to the end. The last and best track of Even in the Quietest Moments. Nothing will ever match that song. Timeless classics and masterpieces. That's what are the best songs of Supertramp.
@@mikeaaron2819 Don't you see that It means "Fool's Ouverture", the last track of Even in the Quietest Moments? The title is written clearly beside the image. This is my opinion that song and no other song of Even in the Quietest Moments. My all-time favorite song of Supertramp. The last and the best song of this album of Supertramp, period. That is all. Now I hope you understand what I mean.
@alexcollins3536 My favorite albums from Supertramp are of course Crime of the Century and Breakfast in America. But I respect your choice; I like also very much From Now On. And you are right; Crisis? What Crisis? and Even in the Quietest Moments are also very good albums of Supertramp.
This song in all its beauty is never played on main radio stations in the UK ,. Why i dont know as its a masterpiece and is in my top 10 of greatest ever musical pieces
All radio dj's use to have a half dozen tracks to cover a loo trip, meatloaf, bat out of hell, Stairway to heaven etc, but for some reason this did not seem to make any of their lists.
Most radio stations play mediocre music. Pop and rock (not jazz or fusion, which are now better and more varied than ever) are mostly mediocre since the last seventies. They have become repeated formulas without any artistic pulsion. There's a lot of good contemporary music today, but for the most part it is not in the pop or rock camp.
Fantastic, thank you. Takes me back to my teens, and my 'Big Brother' turning me on to incredible music like this. We lost touch. I wish I could find him. There's a hole in my life.... Thanks again.
They had so many great songs like this one....what a band. I saw them in concert in Madrid 1986, but Roger Hogson was no longer in the band. They were promoting "Cannonbal".
Lo escuche por primera vez en su imterpretacion , con sus integrantes en conjunto pequeño, incompartable pìeza musical, oda a la alegria en mis 70 años
I heard" gimme a little bit" a couple of years ago and I love how close to the Creator of the universe this band is , but not in a "religious" category. Wow!
I’m not exactly young 45 now but I was born when they were making breakfast in America so I am definitely a different generation acknowledging their greatness.

My Grandpa. Going upstairs with a pop gun and telling my brother and Arnie to get the FG out of the house with playing the Doors. I mean he was 85. And he was trying to watch A John Wayne Movie. That's Epic.

Well obviously here says EVERYTHING, "History recalls how great the fall can be............. "the island is sinking, let's take it to the sky". I get it, because I'm now made to greater understand why. This is prophetic meaning lyrics. It's listen very closely.
Well where i am now, on a sofa next to a big window and its a kind of penthouse even if other taller buildings here, I constantly feel like God is behind me and behind The Sun when it is behind or in front of me here. Sometimes even feel like looking over my shoulder and asking "is that how you want me to say it, write it down?" A curious detail which can be a coincidence or a sign of what's to come. A fake gray owl statue in the penthouse in front of me, and last time I saw one like that was also on a balcony of a building walking along The Thames River in London visiting my daughter.

I agree with you 100%! but then I realise that "looks", "appearance", "plastic surgery", are what the HOF actually celebrates... not REAL music! Supertramp are in a league of their own. Dolly Parton can't even touch the hem of their trousers

My favorite cause it doesnt need lyrics to be good, and it builds in intensity so therefore, it's an instrumental piece at it's best ❤

Winston Churchill speech excerpts
We shall go on till the end...
We shall fight on the seas and oceans...
We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be...
We shall never surrender!
Verse 1
History recalls how great the fall can be
While everybody's sleeping, the boats put out to sea
Born on the wings of time
It seemed the answers were so easy to find
"Too late," the prophets cry
The island's sinking, let's take to the sky
Verse 2
Called the man a fool, stripped him of his pride
Oh, everyone was laughing up until the day he died
Oh, though the wound went deep
Still he's calling us out of our sleep
My friends, we're not alone
He waits in silence to lead us all home
Chorus
So you tell me that you find it hard to grow
Well I know, I know, I know
And you tell me that you've many seeds to sow
Well I know, I know, I know
(distant choir sings 'Jerusalem' almost inaudibly)
And was the Holy Lamb of God
On England's pleasant pastures seen?
And did the Countenance Divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
Dreamer...
Verse 3
Can you hear what I'm saying
Can you see the parts that I'm playing
"Holy man, rocker man, come on, Queenie
Joker Man, Spider Man, blue-eyed Meanie"
So you found your solution
What will be your last contribution?
"Live it up, rip it up, why so lazy?
Give it out, dish it out, let's go crazy
Yeah!"
