That was a awesome night! Audie rode with me there that's the stuff I miss the most. Being able to pull up at his house and just bullshit. Or go Cruze around jamming. As much as I love Acid Bath. I would give it all up to have my friend back.
@@marcell9437Audie died in a car crash in 96’ or 97’ I believe and that is the main reason they broke up Because they played a couple shows without him and it just didn’t feel the same
This is fucking sick! I've been looking for new footage. For so reason youtube got rid of alot of they're stuff. That's what I've heard over the years. But this just fucking brutal raw shit. Thank you
Little did they know people would still be listening and watching their recorded shows. So thankful 🙏🏼 for this…we’ll never get this back but we can enjoy the moment.
Awesome show. I was there. A bunch of us pilled in my old Lemans and drove from Lafayette to BR for that show. We were at the bar when someone mentioned the show starting in BR in 45 minutes. We hauled ass and made it in 30 minutes.
I see a much younger version of myself in the pit. LOL Speaking of Powertribe, I went and hung at Darren's apartment and went out with him and his friends the weekend after this show, great guy.
Thanks for uploading this, this is great. Sadly I never got to see Acid Bath live since I didn't become aware of them till 96 but luckily I got to see Dax a bunch of times all over the country. Hopefully he is doing well and resurfaces soon.
Incredible work here Mike. Thanks for uploading it, I've been a fan since I was a kid and got to hang with Dax during the deadboy era. Seeing them in their prime for a full set is a real gift
I saw marilyn manson at this same club that year. Pre antichrist superstar. Baton rouge was kinda happening for a second there. Toadies, L7, butthole surfers, lunachicks 👍👍👍
Sadly the bass player was killed in a car accident about a year after this was filmed. The band broke up. Sammy continued with Crowbar, ultimately formed Goatwhore who are still recording and touring. Dax has some solo stuff out there. Not real sure but I think the other two guys might have had some side projects over the last 20 years
@@mikepatterson437 Thank you. I've been listening to this band for a few years and being a musician myself. Some of there material blows me away. I think they could have been really huge. And I'll tell you why. My opinion. I've been in bands all my life. Hardcore bands. NYHC. And the difference between a good band and a great band is when you have you're best friends that you grew up with in your band. There's just a special bond and energy that you don't get when you play with a group of strangers.
You know what was different about Acid Bath too, was like...Girls used to dig em and be at those shows. And not just like average-looking metal/punk type goth chicks or whatever (they were def. there too) but rly cute girls who weren't too freaky lookin', and who sorta creeped you out a little bit, lmao! Trust me I knew a few. And I hate to be too judgmental ab womens looks or whatever but you know what I mean! Idk if it was bc they weren't actually from N.O. orr they thought Dax was "OMG! JUST SOO CUUUUTE!" (THAT'S prob what it was!) or what it was but most of the time it seemed it was just a total sausage-fest with most of the other NOLA bands.

This is fucking awesome footage man. Really shows the band from all angles and their banter
I knew them a little, and was friends with the opening band so they were all cool with me getting onstage to film, so got some great footage
“If I took this cigarette and put it out on you…would you love me?”
Holy shit . 100% best footage of acid bath ever to exist.
Thanks dude!
Wish i was born in the late 70’s just to experience this band live one time😂 honestly though man what a great find, glad you were there to record it🤘

Grunge Metal?
Buy the albums or get Spotify.
Go to your local record store, Graywhale (in UT) almost always has a couple copies on hand.
Always good to see footage of these guys.very rare to see, especially when I was rooted far away from them regionally

Wow...this is great. don't see much of them recorded. It's pretty good considering the time period you did it in.

Holy shit! The ending is amazing it feels like time is eating the band.
Yeah I think it was so fucking hot in there with all them people that there was condensation building on the recorder's tapeheads
If you can find anything from the Thirsty Whale in Chicago you will be a legend! 💗
