    I had a dog I rescued and kept from California, can’t get any more western than that, and he had had heart worm. This was years ago and he has long since passed away from old age, but just remembering him, he was a good loyal dog. Houdini ❤️

    I live in a heartworm hotspot in the south. I have my dog on a heartworm preventative medicine, but I only give it to them every 2 1/2 months because I did the research and realized I could get away with that. My vet did not appreciate that but for the last three years, my dog has been heartworm, free and amazingly parasite free and I feel better that my dog is not overmedicated.

    We did not used to have heartworm here in Colorado. But with the weather changing and getting warmer each year, it is getting more humid as well, add to that the influx of people moving here from warmer climes bringing infected dogs with heartworm, it is beginning to be more common to see our dogs get heartworm. Thnx Dr Jones.

      Our young dog got heart worm, in 2022 after his negative test in May. We live in Colorado but traveled to Midwest where it is higher but still uncertain where he got his mosquito bite since we did see many more mosquitoes here in Colorado. As others replied, it’s not transmitted dog to dog, only by a mosquito bite.

      We live in TN also, & all our family uses nothing but brewers yeast tablets for dogs & all our dogs have tested negative for 4 years now, even after one having heartworms before starting the supplement. Only about $8.00 for a bottle of 500 tablets. My dog is 60 lbs & takes 3 per day. That's a total of 5 dogs in our family on this product.

    For many years we had our dog on heartworm medication. My daughter's oldest dog got heartworms & she did the treatment with no help. She tried a natural treatment & the dog did better, but still tested positive for the worms. She saw where people were using brewers yeast for prevention & decided to give it to all 4 of her dogs & stop the rx preventative. The next yearly checkup, all her dogs tested negative & have every year since. Our dog had been off heartworm meds for over a year & still tested negative, but had gotten a three year rabies shot. In less than a year she started getting lypomas all over her. So we stopped all vaccines, & flea & tick meds. We put her on brewers yeast & that has been over 3 years & she continues to test negative for heartworms & has had no worms or fleas. We got a few ticks off her, but that is all. We live in Tennessee & there are so many mosquitoes that you just can't be outside unless you use something to repel those varmints. Our son's dog got heartworms about 15 years ago. The treatment didn't help. That dog always had a cough & died early. Wish we had known about the brewers yeast back then.
    And our whole extended family uses diatomaceous earth to worm our cats. It works great & our animals are very healthy.
    Our family also uses silver biotics with all our animals for any wound or respiratory issue. Love that product.
    I am about to start using your protocol to work on our dog's lypomas to see if that will help. Other things I have tried have not helped. But I did find that a little extra Virginia olive oil given to our cats & dog has really filled in their thinning spots and made their fur so soft & shiny with less shedding & itching! It also has made our dog's eyes brighter. Amazing stuff! No more vet visits for our animals unless there is an emergency or something I can't handle.
    I started your ultimate canine & feline formulas on all our animals about a week ago. Already they have more energy! Thank you for this product. Maybe they can now lose some weight!

    Ok so is it necessary, maybe for people who let their dogs run free in dog parks and find their dogs eating other dog crap if that’s a way they can get it but let me tell u.
    Growing up our dog didn’t any of these things. He was half collie half husky. He was mostly an outside dog. That would never happen again but he did love it outside. So anyway he had the rabies shot and probably that was it. He ate scraps. Back then they didn’t talk about what to feed and not feed plus I was too young to know anyway. I know my parents didn’t get him heart worm. That dog lived for 18-19 years. What killed him was getting a vaccine that was mandated in his old age. Believe it or not.
    My family including my dogs which were 3 of them. And my sisters two. Their life expectancy is 12-16 years old something like that. Never got any of them heartworm meds. Two passed for old age and things rated to their breed and old age. one was 1617 he had cancer and kidney failure and the other almost 15, kidney failure too. My last one is still holding on. But he has pancreatitis is almost 15. My sisters dog who is the one still alive of mine. Suffers with liver problems because of the damn flea medications like the collar hurting him. Cuz when they are old they can’t deal with it. And her other dog suddenly died after the pet administered the dogs simpatico trip an oral tick and flea med. it caused him a seizures then caused him to stop breathing the poor thing and he died on the way to the emergency vet car. My brothers dog of their same group of family of dogs. After giving him a shot of pill he came down with a sudden neurological disorder and feel apart quickly and had to be put down. I believe that was also simpatico trio.
    So if u ask me. Stay the heck away from these poisonous vaccines and pills if u can help it. Much like the Covid vaccine it’s killing ur pets or causing them more problems than what they are worth. Their natural antibioties are the way to go. Plus u don’t spend on killing ur pet. Just watch them if u go on a walk and make sure they don’t consume things that can make them sick. Or just let them run in ur backyard.

    • @dianasimplifies
      @dianasimplifies Рік тому +1

      They get it from being bit by infected mosquitoes. If you live in a heavily infested mosquito area you need to treat year round. Has nothing to do with the dog going to a dog park or taking a walk unless they are bit by the wrong mosquito. I’ve had to treat 2 dogs for heartworms. It’s a deadly treatment. It’s not something you want to have to treat.

    • @blikewat3r
      @blikewat3r Рік тому +1

      I avoid all this crap with my dog too. I used to rescue animals all of the time and this is what I did to remove fleas: washed them with original blue dawn dish soap. Wet their fur, lather in a good amount of the dawn, let it sit for about a min, and wash away. It suffocates the fleas and because it’s non toxic, you can use it on puppies and kittens. If really bad, follow with a second wash and rinse. Follow up with a good conditioner to rebalance their skin’s ph and you’re all set. No need for toxic flea collars or washes😉👍
      Also, look into adding tiny amounts of garlic to dog food on occasion to ward off these pests and other parasites. When you look at the research that concluded garlic was harmful to dogs, you’ll find they were fed copious amounts that humans wouldn’t even consume in one sitting. As they say “the dose makes the poison”. Haven’t looked in awhile, but I wonder who funded this “research”🙄. What could be their motivation? 🤑🤫 Of course don’t take my word for it…look into it for yourself. Based on your comment regarding the human experiment, something tells me you have the eyes to see😜✌️

    People here are saying the treatment is deadly, and I know it is intense, although my son who worked at a vet for 10 years in Michigan where it is one of the highest heart worm numbers, never saw a heart worm treatment fail. Unfortunately our 1 yr 8 month old pup got heart worm in 2022, after he had a negative test in May, gave him just one month of HeartGuard (ivermectin), but decided not to continue since we live primarily in Colorado. We traveled to Michigan and through the Midwest, so we don’t know where he was infected. I am extremely holistic when treating anything but use pharmaceutical meds when needed. This is a real eye opener especially since he had a life threatening anaphylactic shock out of the blue before we knew he had heart worm, luckily the vet hospital saved his life. I had them test for tick born diseases since ticks were horrible and the 4D test showed the heart worm but no tick born diseases.
    He’s now 5 weeks into the 91 day treatment. Doxycycline & Prednisone (finished), with the Ivermectin, then they get the anti-parasite injection day 60, 90, and 91, along with the Ivermectin monthly. Hopefully he’s seen the worst of it during the anaphylactic shock. 🙏🏻❤️‍🩹

They are absolutely a problem here, but preventable. Basically, Arsenic poisoning in controlled doses with restricted activity is the treatment if it does happen; you can't tell how many times a dog has bites, but if I go without my Cutter Spray, it's awful.

      Heartworm are parasitic animals, so preventative is given as an oral medication to kill any infective larvae before they can mature into adults, at which point heartworm treatment 💵💵💵 is necessary

      Garlic, whether raw or cooked, is toxic to dogs. If a dog eats enough garlic, it can eventually kill them if they do not get medical treatment. Garlic, onions, and leeks are all in the Allium genus of plants. Dogs are not allergic to plants in this genus, but the plants contain N-propyl disulfides and thiosulfates.

      I lived in both. We had a TON of mosquitoes in California. I used to get eaten alive. Ironically, I don't actually get bit here in Georgia.

      YES!! If heartworm preventative medication is given to a dog whose worms reproduced their own microfiliae, then the dog could die or go into shock from all the larvae dropping dead in their bloodstream at once.

      Do your dogs a favor and look up a video on the life cycle of heartworm in dogs. Maybe some surgical pictures if that didn't do the trick👍

    This is terrible advice. Heartworm incidence is increasing across all areas of North America regardless of climate. Once a month preventatives are cheap, very safe, and easy to administer. They prevent not only heartworm, but also GI parasites, fleas, and ticks. Be kind and treat your pets 12 months a year.
    Please stop with the terrible advice.

      @@deannamartin6827 There is no link between the medications and heart cancer, except the made up one you're implying. So your friends dog would have had cancer regardless. But I noticed you didn't say the dog got heartworm! So I guess the medication worked!

      Heartworm is increasing, yeah, but in SPECIFIC states. A lot of states are increasing because of climate change, but a LOT of states still apply to this advice. Do your own research. He gives you good advice but is purposely vague so people need to do more research
