Thank you so much for teaching us pet parents how to keep our furry family members safe! We appreciate you so much!
So many of us love our pets like a member of the family, but pets are not people! I'm so glad you made this video because you have probably just saved more than a few animals' lives! Thank you Dr. Jones! 🐶
Woah! 1 thru 6 we’re not too surprising but the Pepto bismol I thought for sure was ok! Thank you so much for putting me up to date on this! 💕
Me too
Me and my kids just throw it up. It's not good
I too was told by a vet assistant that pepto was ok so I’m thinking oh great and I’ve used the pink tablets with him a few times but I’ve officially thrown them out after seeing the main ingredient was subsalyciate or that med he mentioned.
@@janellee250they were okay but like he said, there’s been a recent formulation change and now no longer safe. She was right but it’s not her fault she doesn’t know they changed the formula
Shalom from the Ohio Valley 🙏
I had a vetanarian tell me to give my terrier Pepto bismal! He was too sick to take it. I'm so grateful to God he didn't.
Veterinarians don’t get notified about human medication used off label
I had a friend whose cat got into a batch of vitamins and the Cat decided to break through the plastic bottle and ingest a couple of zinc tablets the cat then scratched all the fur off of its neck down to the bare skin and had to be rushed to the vet to get a shot of cortisone to stop the reaction before it scratched through the skin.
Which would have been caused the infection.
Even human vitamins can have terrible side effect on animals so keep your items locked away just like you would for any child
Dr. Jones, thank you for this info. I gave my dog a baby aspirin once, and an allergy pill with Benedryl when he got stung in the face by a hornet because he was swelling up and breathing funny. Both times human meds served their purpose, but I would never use them on a regular basis.
My 8-year-old male dog used to have a Mastiff-type head, but in the past 3 months, it has changed shape, and become almost pointed. He stopped eating all dry dog food, so now I create moist food for all three dogs. This has worked, but he has lost weight. There is a strange sound he makes when eating. I checked his teeth, but he doesn't like his mouth being opened and pulls away. Yesterday he quit eating completely. I don't have transportation or money for a vet bill, and I don't want to lose my friend. When my Mom suffered a stroke, it was his unusual bark that alerted me and saved her life, so he has a special place in my heart. I just came across something called Temporomandibular disorder and dogs can be affected. There is a very short video showing how to massage his jaw, but it doesn't show much. I tried the massage and he seemed to lean into it, so maybe this will help. Could his mishappen skull be putting pressure on his jaw? Do you have any info you can share on this, please?
When you brought up Xanax, I was reminded of that woman who gave her pet chimpanzee Xanax and it flipped out and attacked her dear friend.
Thank you for this review and update. I did not know that Pepto-Bismol was a problem. I was doing fine till we got to number seven. Thank you for your hard work, dedication and passion to continuing to educate pet owners. You are a blessing.
I just love you Dr. Jones!
Your dedication to teaching us all the bad and good things we need to know about our pets health?
PRICELESS 😘
Thank you so much 💕
Hello 🤗
Thanks to you Dr. A.J I give my boy SURO and it has helped him tremendously for his cough. I never ever give my dogs ANYTHING without A LOT of research or advice and direction from you. Even when I do have to apply a safe topical I'll wrap it so he doesn't lick it which I know he will given the opportunity.
How do you keep your baby from chewing the wrap off? Our skeeter will chew at it until it’s off for sure
Thanks for watching you?...what do you mean?...no THANK YOU for giving us this valuable info to keep our critters safe. THANK YOU DOC !
I have used Pepto Bismol for pups with Parvo and it has cured them. You can find a dye free one but the dosage is actually miniscule. Usually .05 micro gram in a super skinny syringe meant for insulin is enough for an adult dog and half that for a puppy. Ive had no issue and have saved many lives with it.
Thank your for keeping us informed. I want to tell you that I use one of your recommendations often…water, lemon juice and honey for my old hacking Yorkie named Gator. It works like a dream. ❤️
Thanks Doc 😊
So glad to learn more about what not to give my pets. Thanks!
Dr. Jones thank you for education us about our cats and dogs health. Most recently after my 17 year old Sis'ta Spice "Sissy" began sneezing like crazy. Your video with recommendations for cats really helped her get better. Thankfully none of our other four cats became ill.
Fantastic!
Great video!!!
Thanks Doc!🙏🐾
Thank you for this info 🐕 😺
Thank you Doctor!! ❤❤
Thank you for illustrating us 🎉❤
Appreciate your advice.
Thank you so much.
Thank you Doctor
You are a jewel to us!
💪❤️💪
Thank you so much Doc. Blessings
Thank you 💜
What about benedryl for dogs itchy skin? My vet recommended it after a treatment of prednisone and the itchy skin continued ( I figured it out…my yorkie is allergic
to grass. Walks no longer include the park)
They do make benedryl for dogs as well as dog aspirin
Anyone that is stupid enough to give any of these medications that are not specifically made for animals to them deserves to be criminally charged.
I can't even imagine why anyone would give medications to a pet that are not meant for them.
The only thing I can think of is trying to save money by not taking them to a vet. Penny wise and pound foolish, in addition to possibly killing your pet.
People are so stupid
Great info video. Thank you. Blessings to all ❤
Thank you ! Very important info.

I didn't know about pepto! Thanks
I don’t take those myself!!
I agree, most of this pills are just as bad for us humans.
Great info! I knew most of this info, but it’s always necessary to review. Great, great vid. Thank you.
Thank you!

So glad I watched this as was told untrue advice from actual empl vet assistants. Ugh thank goodness most I’ve never used and the two I have were minimal and was such a low dose he never showed side affects.
I googled peptobismo and it said ok to give to dogs so i did bummer. Glad i found your video
Thank you so much for this. So many people don't know this information and just give pets whatever.
Thank you for advising about the change to pepto bismol. I was wondering if you do a video on doggy dementia? Please.
Pet-Rescue Remedy does an amazing job on my dog’s anxiety.
I wanted to mention I’ve changed veterinarians, two dogs seen & my 3rd dog going Wednesday.
That's nice
How are you doing?
Hello Dr. Jones, I appreciate your videos, especially the ones on alternative cancer treatments for dogs. My dog was diagnosed with spleen cancer, we had the spleen removed and now I have him on several of the treatments you've suggested. I'm unsure of the dosages I should be using and there isn't a single veterinarian in my area that will help me for some reason. If you or anyone reading this can help with that or direct me to someone who I can discuss dosages with I'd be extremely grateful.
Thanks Doc, great video as always! Now how about a list of commonly used human drugs that are SAFE for digs and cats.
I’m glad you make videos like this, but I would never give my dog any of those things anyways I don’t even like taking them for myself.❤❤❤❤❤
Oh my goodness. Mom always gave her dog, Queenie, Peptobismal. Queenie has had intestinal issues all her life. Her belly makes these awful loud squishy sounds and was always given Peptobismal. 😢 I have continued with this since mom's passing. Had her to the vets and they just recommend changing her food. She's fine for a while, and then it starts all over again. I feel awful now about the Peptobismal. I'm tossing it in the trash. I have no idea what to do for her during her distress. What's even more distressing is when I tell the vet about the Peptobismal they don't say anything about it. 😢
Thanks Dr. A.
I usually use tums. I'll check the label for sylacates. You are the absolute best. May Allah Reward You in this life and the hereafter.
O my!!! If I cant give my dog Pepto, then what can I give her? She has a sensitive tummy. I can not afford to take her to the vet all the time. I was told Pepto was ok. I just bought the Pepto, and have not given it to her yet. Please, what can I give her?
I was told it's ok too and have given it to my dog. Not anymore. Would like to know what to use for diarrhea.
@@Andromeda_M31 I seen this on the replies if you go back over them you will see it. Some steamed and mashed pumpkin for diahrrea

Some steamed and mashed pumpkin for diahrrea it's in one of the replies
I have been enjoying your videos very much, in part because of Tula who reminds me of our old poodle Esme. We lovingly referred to her as sub standard because we weren’t sure of her breeding and she wouldn’t win any prizes for her looks ….but she was Mensa material. Do you mind saying where you got her?
That’s good to know! We would recommend Peptobismol to dogs at our clinic prior to COvID it’s sad they changed the formula and now dogs can’t use it….
Thank you for this video, I was always told that pepto was okay for my dog for gastro issues, out in the garbage it goes.
I'm glad you didn't mention paracetamol...just gave my dog one 3rd of a pill for pain releif after I was unable to find arnica or licorice in town....I managed to get some turmeric creme but I don't think it's gonna be effective really...a bit synthetic...but anyway, she's sleeping now...keeping her tied up whilst we wait for the ear pinna to start reducing in size.
Thanks for yr vid, really helpful as I'm in a small village in India and I don't speak much hindi.
He did mention paracetamol he just used the American name for it. It was no 2 on his list. I was very surprised myself by this one
Acetaminophen is paracetamol. Asprin is the safe pain killer for dogs. There's another video on it from not long ago, check it out in his channels list, it will give you the dosage rates
A couple of vet's in my area told me to give my little dog pepto when she was vomiting I'm glad she didn't take it.
Dear Doctor, thank you for your advices, demonstrated on patiently listening, lovely Tula.
You did many videos on herbal remedies one can give our pets ( for example kennel cough) , it's worthy to have a look there!
I used Kaolin/Pectin for upset stomach.
If your used pepto or kaopectate and worry... Maybe try imodium Or get the old school Pepto aka kaolin/Pectin
Question: Allivet sells gallon size jugs of Bismuth for $22. The active ingredient is "Bismuth Subsalicylate".
What difference is there in the Allivet product and current Pepto-Bismol (active ingredient is "Bismuth Subsalicylate")?
Please can you do a video on silicea and the best forms. My rottweiler has shoulder problems. Two vets believe tendons or joint tissue is the problem. It flares up settles and flares up again. I'm interested in silicea but it seems different products contain it from different sources. Not sure what would be the safest form for the dog. We also use msm, devils claw plus a glucosamine/chondroitin supplement.
Wow I have used pepto bismal for years on dogs ……….😮
I regularly freak out seeing "home remedies" recommended especially on forums like Facebook. People claim to have pulled their pup through parvo with brandy and egg, and other crazy toxic things. I think their dogs and cats lived despite, not because of what they gave.
In a previous video, you described how to care for hot spots using Baby Tylenol and Red Rose Black Tea. Which type of Tylenol can we use? I can't find any without Acetaminophen.
Can you use a couple drops of Vicks vapor rub while they have the flu.
I make my own meds from herds for myself and my babies right now I’m doing a cyst removal solution, which is castor oil and frankincense, it is getting smaller yea 17 days left
please link us to the brand of castor oil you use
Hello, first 👍👍👍, second hmm, I did not understand everything and the written Text to read is sooooo small / tiny I need a Lupe 🔎😅. Anyway THANK YOU 🐾🐾
Est-ce que l’aspirine est un bon médicament anti douleur ou anti inflammatoire pour les chiens ? Merci pour votre réponse 😊
Wow, and my mom was given Pepto-Bismol for her little dog by a veterinarian.
I use vitamins for humen
Thank You, never in a million years would I give my pet any of the above, if my dog is hurt or sick, he's going to Vet, they are the Professionals not us.
Ive been giving ibuprofen to my dog for yrs as i was told by several different veterinarians ive seen in person that neurofen which is ibuprofen is safe to give to dogs.
Is benadryl okay for cough and runny nose?
This report makes me wonder if those meds aren't so good for US either! Natural alternatives are being rediscovered all the time. Castor oil for example. Thanks for this video, Dr. Jones.
I used Pepto bismol the old stuff and non-flavored Pedialyte and saved my dog, when he was a puppy. He had parvo it saved his life. What could I use now?
What are the medication for dog have parvo virus?
We should all be avoiding these chemicals as much as possible!
Hey Doc! ❤ Can you feed a bit of Ivermectin if we think our dog has a bug in the GI track? Please let me know. Thanks!
