Massive improvement since the 1st race!! So much smoother and bang on the pace, despite what Jim says 💪

Wow, 2x in a row… in the same spot. I get losing control on that corner, especially on cold tires but why they can’t hold the brakes is beyond me. The next race was more like it. I knew u had the pace from your previous video to have a gd runs against these guys and u did🍻. I also appreciate the veteran moves, like strategically letting the faster guy by and maybe working with him. Too many times ppl fight too hard and it usually ends with someone getting wrecked…. Smart driving. That was a solid race. Honestly, the only thing I could suggest is when u get that massive understeer, try turning the car more with your feet. By that I mean, try trail braking a little more. When the tires go beyond all the mechanical grip they can give, they start sliding and until the car slides enough to slow itself down and regain traction, the car won’t turn and all u get in return is worn, hot tires… and hot tires are slippery tires lol. It’s easier said than done and I myself still struggle to find the right balance… but by holding a little bit of brakes while turning in, it forces the weight of the car to stay on your front tires and gets them to dig in, while lightening the back and ultimately loosening the car. The results can be dramatic and it’s easy to spin. Another thing u can try is moving the brake bias. While braking, Moving it forward will tighten the car up or moving it back will make the car more loose. When u find the right balance, everything is easier. The car does most of the work and u don’t fight the wheel at all. I’m no expert and there are plenty of faster and more qualified drivers than myself but I just wanted to pass on some tips that have helped me. I’ve been impressed with how quickly u can find pace in a variety of cars and it’s because u have strong driving fundamentals. Keep up the great racing and congratulations on the solid top 5

Thank you very much buddy. Yeah I need to work on my trail braking I’m sort of getting used to it however although I’ve modded my Logitech pedals they aren’t as accurate as I’d like them to be. Not making excuses I still need to practice lol. I need to also try and understand why my brake bias can’t be changed on the fly I think I’ve mapped the button for it but can’t see if it changes or not. Thank you for your advice buddy I really appreciate it :-). Btw I’ve sent a friend request to you on IRacing a few days ago.

@@helloharry Gotcha, well that’s a legit reason for trail braking difficulties. I ran my first couple years on the Logitech g920 set and it’s tough. It was hard for me to be accurate with the pedal pressure cause they were too light. So I totally understand. I’ve always said the pedals were the most important part of the rig. The wheel is not really important at all. As long as u can feel what the cars doing, it doesn’t matter how strong the FFB is, there’s even some eNascar guys that run no FFB and run on visual and audio cues… but being able to accurately apply the right amount of brake and throttle to be right on the edge or help a car turn is key. As for the brake bias thing, have u tried doing it manually through your black boxes? One of the boxes has the brake bias and u can go there to change it or use it to check if your button map worked. I apologize that I didn’t see the friend request the other day… I had a couple free min to do a race and totally forgot to look but I just went in on my phone and accepted it. So once things settle down, I’m looking forward to getting on the track so we can do some racing

So would you recommend maybe getting some load cell pedals rather than a direct drive wheel initially?. Fantastic buddy we will be on track soon 👍🏻

@@helloharry yup, I whole heartedly would recommend pedals over a nice wheel. Being able to accurately apply max brakes and be right on the verge of locking up… or being able to get the power down while accelerating without spinning, makes a big difference. They can also help w/corning by using trail braking. As much as a nice wheel is good too, it really doesn’t help u steer any better. As long as u can tell what the car is doing through the FFB, it’s all u really need. The only thing I’ve noticed was more detail and stronger FFB. While it makes it feel more real, I’m not any faster. I may even be a tad slower. I like the realism but I know some pro guys run 0 FFB because the fighting of the wheel slows them down. For the first couple years I ran w/ a Logitech g920 set and it was fine. Then I upgraded my pedals to the Fanatec V3s and I notice an increase in irating. I like the V3s cause they have vibration, so when the tires lock or spin, I can feel it. Then last fall I upgraded my wheel to the Fanatec CSL DD. My irating hasn’t improved much but it has increased the realism and overall enjoyment

Looks like I’ll be getting some load cell pedals then lol. Now that I’ve taken my wheel out of linear mode it does feed back some finer details to me.

I know it happens fast when you run into someone Trust me I know!! But if at all possible go off track and drive around the incidents as that will only cost you a 1X compared to the alternatives 😅

Sure does happens fast. I was going to then thought he’d hold the brakes or go in reverse unfortunately neither happened but oh well that’s racing for ya at least the 3rd race was better lol.
