I just got into iracing about a month ago. I realize the video is almost a year old now at this point. But very very helpful. Shows what to look forward to and be ready to get to I'm whatever you want to choose thank you!
GT4 should be on this list. The amount of fun i've had with that car is unmatched on the road side. I love it more than I love my parents. I love it more than I love my wife and children. The GT4 fixed series is quite possibly the closest thing you can get to achieving nirvana.
Yeah GT4 is better than Ferrari. I basically disagree with the D class F4 and Ferrari choices. The driving standards are terrible. US Open Wheel D, GR86, GT4. and TCR all beat out those two series.
100%, i started with the Ferrari GT3 cup and i think that was a mistake, the cars were way to fast for my skill level (and those of my fellow drivers). But after switching to GT4 I could stay bumper-to-bumper or even door-to-door for the whole race with the other drivers. Great fun. After that I did Porsche Cup, then GT3 fixed, IMSA Lmp2, and now IMSA Lmdh :D
Thanks for the video! May I suggest series caption/ titles for the length of each segment, so that you don't have you to find the start to listen closely to the race title. Otherwise cool video
Understeer? In the clio? I race the clio on an almost daily basis and the thing rotates crazy good into apexes, you just need to know how to modulate your braking into a corner to make it rotate - and when you get on power the car doesn't squat like rwd cars do, so you don't trail off into a massive understeer over track limits.
This video should exist to prevent people from jumping right into the GT3 in D-class. Its too much of a jump in speed, the level of driving is notoriously bad in the Ferrari GT3 Fixed series, the races are short, you learn and improve very little in there. Especially drivers who have never driven a proper sim before will skip valuable lessons in racecraft and wheel to wheel racing by jumping straight into the GT3. You learn a lot more about that with slower cars and you will also likely have an easier time getting the C license as a DNF and contacts are more likely in the GT3 series compared to the other ones.
I would also agree here with the Porsche Cup. Maybe it's just that I'm not a fan of rear engine cars, but the Porsche GT4 felt awful to drive, it just would not turn into corners, and the GT3 version is far, far harder to drive, I think there are better GT3s at C class you can race that are more forgiving

iRacing has most British and European tracks, and you don't need to race ovals. The good thing about iRacing is you don't need to find a league if you don't want to as there are hourly races with tens and hundreds of people racing around the clock. If you are specifically looking for a league, then something like www.gridfinder.com/ is a good option for finding one that suits you!
