Definitely better than the last one i watched
So youre still steering too much, when you are unsersteer mid corner you need to put less input in the wheel. It will actually turn *more*. a large portion of your steering is done with your feet not hands.
Youre definitely doing it a bit better, but its a major part of finding pace.
Theres also some more track you can use on the exits in a few corners. In general its that youre getting on the throttle just a bit too late for maximum speed.
I recommend watching a hotlap of the track before doing a race, itll give you an idea of what you should aim for. Focus on how they are braking, and where, and also their steering inputs.
The general rule is when on the brakes you can turn less, as you release you can turn a little more, and when on throttle you release that lock again to avoid scrubbing or understeering.
Btw make sure that you have the box checked that its a load cell pedal. It affects the pedals greatly.
Something else they dont tell you. Brake primarily with your quads. Not your toes/ankles, theyre bigger, more accurate muscles that allow for much more pressure. (Oh and calibrate the pedals to take more pressure and stiffer elastomers are by far the better choices in your brake pedal btw, you get more modulation out of stiff pedals than soft ones. Calibrate the pedals to be at 100% at just below your legs limit of pressing as hard as you can)
Practice pressing the brake to different percentages. So like 60% and stamp to 60% keep doing that and youll already be better than a bunch of rookies. The point is to build muscle memory. Being able to choose your braking pressure consistently is vital.
Youre doing fine as a newbie, so dont worry, and focus on the pace rather than the safety. Imo better technique will bring the safety.
Another good exercise is go a bit slower, find the limit of the car's on track. Get as far over on the side as you can until you hear grass, that will be your absolute limit. Make a mental not of where that is on the car and youll maximise your entries much better.
Lastly, remember to focus less on the line and more on the making speed. If you entered wrong, the rest of the corner is gonna be wrong, so instead of focusing on hitting the apex exactly, find how to get through that corner losing as little as you can instead.
Theres more than this to teach, but all in due time my good sir, youre starting off pretty decent all things considered.

All good tips! Idk if u watch suellio Almeida vids but he’s a real driver and sim coach and on a recent videos ur tip on being able to use more pedal and less wheel and more wheel while using less pedal, reminded me of his tip. His tip, which I thought was brilliant was… think of having a string connecting the wheel and the pedals, if u use too much of both at the same time the string will snap (the car will spin). So like u said, u can use less wheel while on the brakes and u while accelerating u want to have the wheel as straight as u can. Balancing the inputs to the max while not “breaking the string” is the goal

thank you so much for this comment these are fantastic tips and I will definitely be reading and re reading your comment over and over to try and get the best out of your advice 👍🏻. I appreciate you saying I’m doing slightly better and doing ok for a newbie that means a lot. I have checked the box saying load cell and the pedals have the stiffest set up they can go to I just need to bolt them down so that I can press just abit harder ( something I plan on making this weekend as my racing cockpit is else where currently as it’s to big for where I currently live ) I’ve never thought about what muscle group to use for braking that’s a genius idea. It seems to me that this weekend I will be doing a lot of practising and test drives then hopefully have a decent race. Seriously tho thank you so so much for the comment and support I look forward to further advice thank you again

That’s a genius idea and way to think of it. It’s abit like what they teach in MMA and Boxing for foot work etc definitely be imagining a bit of string now as well lol. I might have to have all this advise on a white board or second monitor so I can glance at it and remember it all. Thanks for another great comment and continued support buddy 👍🏻

I know you’re still getting used to the load cells and still working on techniques…but wow, what an improvement in a short amount of time, Great Job! I can already see you’re getting better rotation on the car. This was the 1st road race I really didn’t see ur steering wheel over rotate while what I call “understeer plowing”, which tells me ur using ur feet more… trail braking and/or using better throttle control on acceleration. That’ll not only help the lap times but it also helps keep the tires from heating up and wearing out. I could already tell u had far less fall off towards the end of this race than previous races too. I was thinking of some tips I could maybe throw out there but I think @thepaisleyproject gave a lot of great advice. I left a comment to his comment about a tip I thought was a really helpful. Other than that my only other tip is to have fun and take everything in stride. Even if u just work on one thing at a time. The key is to not overwhelm yourself and I hope my comments never make u feel like u have to work on something. Everything is just stuff that has helped me and I want to pass it on so it can maybe help u too. Anyways, great race and congrats on the podium…. It was well deserved
PS - I 100% agree…Collin was an absolute legend. Regardless if he was winning or losing, he never failed in delivering excitement

Thank you buddy, I’m always happy to receive advice and I don’t think I have to but I want to if that makes sense like I am so keen to learn all this and you are 100% correct I need to do one thing at a time. I did see @thepaisleyproject comment and wow that is some fantastic advice definitely need to write these all down and then cross them off as I get better at them. I am so grateful for all your guys help support and comments intruely appreciate it and love the fact that people are commenting and interacting with each other to. So thank you again 👍🏻
