@@CeceJianni this whole book seems like a big facade of him just painting himself to be this selfless unique person. honestly is so cringe how highly he thinks of himself. i believe he's just a typical insecure narcissistic that craves power over people. talks how primitive human nature is, but act like hes part of some twilight love story. idk that just seems backwards to me. people that are "selfless" and caring dont talk like that. dude just really wants someone to be obsessed and codependent upon him. this book is just all types of unnatural and the biggest tell for it being a manipulation tactic is him saying that the book is a piece of who he is as a person. like i call bs, he legit wrote this just to appeal to the type of people he targets. like i knew greg was a shit person , but i didnt think he was this narcissistic. i didnt think id end up thinking less of him than i already do. i try not to have opinions of people on the internet but damn, its kinda hard to see onision in a good light. ever since he fucked over cyr, all the people he fucked over started speaking up. i should have never ignore all the stuff he said about shiloh, i started watching him when they were still together. dont get me wrong shiloh on some bs too, but honeslty after hearing how their relationship was you really cant blame her for anything. literally seemed so traumatizing, not to mention how they were in videos, he straight up treated her like a pet and made it "comedic" theres no telling of all the stuff he forced her to do. treat her like shit turn camera on then act like its a skit. make her have a mental breakdown then start recording like shes acting crazy. its so infuriating how much of her life he controlled and how noone at the time believed her. from a viewers perspective it always looked like it was just part of the skit how he treated her. im sorry for the huge paragraph but i just got mad thinking of all the bs he'd done to people. honestly who knows how it would be if he never collabed with cyr or fucked over cyr. it may have still unraveled this way but ever since cyr left is when everybody else started having some credibility on what they say about him. mostly because at the time it was basically an on going joke that onision was an asshole in his skits, narcissistic controlling psychotic hypocrite. basically an exaggerated version of himself. and funny enough he was also playing the joker alot at the time. but i think the main thing cyr was saying was that it was all true. the way he acts is not a skit, and that he likes to make it seem that way so people dont think hes actually like that. greg is just a manipulator whose biggest weapon is his camera and fans. funny how now its his biggest enemy. i dont like hating people but when i think of all the people hes abused he deserves 100x more than all the hate he has received. sorry for the book, but fuck this guy ive personally dealt with people like this all my life so greg gets zero % of my sorrow. think he so special but in reality hes a dime a dozen. predictable even.

You know, it’s very clear he’s a deeply troubled human being.. I think creative outlets are super important to help people get in touch with deeper aspects of themselves that they can’t necessarily vocalize in therapy or in first person. I always support creative ways to heal, and this homie needs a LOT of healing based on the very disturbing content of this piece of literature. I feel bad for the way he exists (not condoling his actions whatsoever, but I still find it very sad). Society isn’t working because sick individuals like Onision aren’t getting the sort of therapy and treatment they need, and in their search for finding life they absolutely leave mayhem and sadness behind them in the form of their victims, and people who love them and want to help. It’s all very sad, and I’m so sorry to the people this guy hurt and I’m sorry he lives such a dark and bleak existence.

@@questioneverything8572 I think the main difference between a trope and Greg is that he's done this in real life, too - with several different people (Shiloh (bad singing manager who put her into a boot camp to try to force her to lose weight), Kai/Lainey (eating disorder who was being ab*sed by a boyfriend with schiz0phrenia), and Sarah (dr*g add*ct parents who were allowing people to m0lest/r@pe her in exchange for dr*gs). So he was specifically seeking out ab*sed girls so he could use their ab*se to his own advantage). (Sorry for all the censors; my comment might get deleted otherwise.) He's also admitted before that he has a "Hero Complex" (a.k.a he was mixing up "Hero Syndrome" and "God Complex").I think he was (allegedly) seeking out ab*sed girls so that he could take advantage of them. Edit: Edwin's Generation goes into more detail about this, if you want to know more.

What's weird is that he says this book is based partially on his own life. What part??? The school shooting? The school burning down? The girlfriend abused by everyone in her life? Why, in his wildest fantasies, does he just want terrible thing after terrible thing to happen to himself/the main character? This book comes off as an edgy self-insert fanfiction written by a 13 year old. Thanks for reading it so we don't have to, Rep.

I most definitely think he has NPD, as I personally know a lot about it (my father has it). Greg is definitely low empathy or no empathy, and seems like he does t have compassion or sympathy either. He most certainly has sociopathic tendencies, and is one of the kids of sociopaths that can actually be very harmful and can’t integrate well with society (bc I hate it when ppl stigmatize ASPD).

I have no idea of Onision ever actually lived through a school shooting but considering how James is his Gary Stu self insert character, then this is his fantasy about being a hero and getting recognition for saving people's lives.
Ignoring the fact that this is basically a stolen plot line from Degrassi TNG, anyone else pick up on the fact that even in Onision's fantasy about stopping a school shooter, 50 people still die? Even in his power fantasy the bad guy basically wins.

Last I checked, this is also Greg’s first book, This is Why I Hate You was his 2nd, and then the bat shit crazy Reaper’s Creek was his third. I haven’t looked into a fourth, or fifth one yet.
Spoilers for Reaper’s Creek: Greg makes himself into a Chad with a magic rock in his brain, fucks his pedo girlfriend when he was 11-14, and she was 15-18, and he is actually calling himself Greg on occasions. These are all self insert jerkoff sessions he’s made. Literally, it’s so bad, Stones to Abigale/Abbigale/whatever the hell he spells her name as is the one with the best overall writing. The parts where people act like normal humans is when he’s taking it from memory. When Abbi literally likes him back, she becomes Greg in a different wig, so you know he’s making up shit that never happened.
Also, the fact he label’s Reaper’s Creek as him currently, and he’s a child sleeping with a creepy woman, then becomes a chad 30yo while she’s still 18 is really telling.
Not to mention, it’s filled with Greg’s weird variety of anti-religion, cult bullshit where he turns out to be the son of a goddess.

A little over halfway through, I love how he uses an abuse victim as a character, who is not only boring, easily impressionable, and is swept off her feet by general kindness. Which gives his character no stakes, nothing to work for, and there’s absolutely know growth there. It’s some strange melancholy teen romance with “broken characters”. Literally broken, meaning basic “broken” people descriptions. Self harm, school shootings, abuse, suicide, it’s just gross. His character just comes off manipulative, using this girls struggle and pain as an advantage, so he can easily manipulate and worm his way into her life.
Also the scar scene is absolutely filthy and makes me feel gross inside.
    Just another awful awful book.
