I'm sorry, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out the solution to all your problems with the rage cage. If you don't want it to be clear, wrap it with something. Don't like the magnetic doors?, add locks or rotating blocks. Don't like getting scratched?, wear gloves. Holes too big?, fill them in a bit. etc.
This equipment was extremely expensive to purchase and should be designed better. I can fix it myself for sure, but I shouldn't have to.

I am over 6 feet tall and yet my empathy for you "I am too short for this sh*t" was profound. You sounded DONE with this, even though this cat is really adorable, it looks like a lot! I actually wonder if she didn't like the drying cage because you weren't close to her and it upset her. And the drying container flaws are grim too, I hope there's solutions! Thanks for sharing your work with us, and I pray future pets won't make curse being vertically challenged too often 🤣
I think Koya's main issue with the rage cage is that she wasn't able to make physical contact. As long as she's being touched with a hand or brush in some way, she tolerated pretty much anything.

The rage cage holes need sleeves, like a hazmat suit, i wonder how easy it would be to fashion some diy ones. As for the transparency of the walls, perhaps just spreading some stickers on them will let the cat know it's not just open air.

I wonder if those sun blocker car window stickers would work. They have ones with suction cups too, so that might work if you rub the surface down with alcohol first.

Well for tranperency there are many solutions, the easiest would probably to just get a dark film, like its used for car windows for example, and attack it to the glaspaneels. and concering the magnet lock issue, well, just impovise an additional lock that might be as simple as glueing 2 hooks, one one the left and one on the righ side of the opening and wrap some wire around them, if you want the door to stay closed

I have a highland lynx mix girl. Her ears didn't curl back like her mama but she is prone to very dirty ears and infections! Have to keep on top of it. She is definitely a character though! Very mischievous, curious and LOVES to eat things she isn't suppose to. She drives me crazy but she is so pretty and loves to stand on my back.

Oh God.... I know she was frustrated & I feel for her but I laughed more than I expected when she tried to escape through the rage cage holes! She's sooo cuddly & adorable though 😍😍😍& very beautiful!!!💖💖💖
The way HEPA Glove Boxes are designed would only need a few tweaks and it would be the perfect replacement for the pet drying box you got now.
The two front holes have heavy duty gloves attached to them so you can reach in and not worry about being scratched or bitten. The cat wouldn't be able to climb out of it either. The sides are covered so the only viewport would be the front preventing them from bonking into the sides, just like those automatic pet dryer boxes.
It wouldn't be a large market but I'm sure plenty of pet groomers would love to have something like that.
If you see this comment, maybe look around to see if you got any people in your area that can hand make something like that for you? I'm honestly surprised I couldn't find anything like it just readily available for purchase. Heck, the box you got now is almost it. Just needs the sides covered and the gloves attached to the front holes and some sort of way to secure the doors.
Might be cheaper to find someone who can customise the one she's got with your suggestions.

oof. my oldest pup had giardia when he was a puppy. 3 times. he loves rabbit poop and that was what did him in. So eventually, we had to put up chicken wire around the yard to stop the rabbits from entering. he has a sensitive tummy now. suffice to say as a household we are all traumatized LOL 😂

Nah, they are a mix between a manx and a sphinx cat. Nothing wild about that. Manx have no tail, from the sphinx the curled ears. Vocal sweet cats who attach easily to their owner.
There is a product like contact paper that is designed to give windows a frosted look. Some have designs that allow more or less light to come through but all will allow light while providing various amounts of coverage

My Mom had two different tailess cats, one was a Manx very smart cat and a Siammanx a Siamese- Manx mix she was a different cat, she liked to hide all of her toys under a shelf unit and then would cry for someone to pull them out, one night I saw her walking through the house with my Dad's toothbrush and she had a big meow.
I had a Turkish Van cat, he loved being brushed, he would purr very loud.
What an adorable squeaky toy.
Your rage cage has to be very very very loud and possibly painful to the cat's ears. All that noise trapped inside the small area.

I'm so excited to see this cat!! We have a highland lynx and an American curl, lovely polydactyl cat. Very good personality just like a dog. Super loving and affectionate breed.

Rage cage solutions - Door - barrel bolt lock using E6000 glue instead of screwing it on. Clear walls - use decals on the outside. The Arm Holes - use E6000 glue to attach flaps on the inside of the cage - you can fashion flaps from a cone like you used to block the holes on this video. By attaching them on the inside, you can still easily get your hands and the dryer nozzle inside and the flaps will prevent cats from sticking their heads out. The flap will also give you some protection from getting scratched or bit.

There are treat motivated cats, toy motivated cats, and petting/attention motivated cats. That is a people person love bug kitty for sure. She is mostly ok as long as she gets to be near you and get "pets" in some form. Maybe get some coloured window film for the 3 sides of the rage cage like they do with fish tanks?
I think putting a fake wire cage decal on the outside ? Like chicken wire cage design. Its fake but might signal to the cats that something is there even if its not real? Good luck.

It's possible that the Highlander is a cross of the Manx and the American Curl. It would explain both the physical characteristics (Manx has the short tail, AC for the ears) and the origin question (both are 'natural' breeds).
She has a very interesting meow. So cute, unique like the oriental cats honking. Lol She's adorable, and very vocal like my cat.

Could put on a variety of kid proof cabinet snaps/locks on the rage cage door. There is also film (reflective, prismed, frosted, etc.) or stickers for windows/glass doors that you might be able to use in areas you don't need to see through.
This kitty seemed to hate the rage cage because she couldnt cuddle, not because of the "scary" blower!
If they bred for a long tail instead of a blunted one, maybe introduced some bengal, they could design some cute house-snow leopards!

I can't say I love a bobbed anything on cats. Tails should be full (communication and balance), legs should be full (mobility), ears should be full (hearing, hygiene and communication)... Akoya is a cutie, but we should breed for health, not vanity. :/

highlanders are in fact mixed breeds between the jungle curl and the desert lynx. theyre a mix of other domestic breeds as well, but they did originate from wildcats.
