Juvie at Play (36 Days Old, 6-25-24)

Prior to taking flight, peregrine juveniles are curious, playful, and interactive. They learn a great deal from their nest environment as well as sibling interactions. Here this juvie is footing and grabbing the cable to the camera system that runs along the ledge adjacent to the nest ledge. He clutches the cable to flap rapidly as downy feathers fly into the air. He is ready for his first flight any day now!
