    Fantastic Review!
    Why is the best BMC Urs review on youtube by two Americans?
    I'm sitting in Switzerland and have a Swiss bike explained to me by two Americans... I kind o hate this 🤣
    PS: Thanks for the great review 👌🏾

    The guy with the glorious mustache actually explained, clearly, the jargon everyone just repeats on UA-cam. I really appreciated the setup and informative explanation. Very good video. I'll subscribe.

    Nice review. You hit the same points I have found so far. Had not considered the chainring change, was thinking more of changing the cassette. Running 28mm slicks so far, all road riding for now. Keep up the good work.

      @@wesherzik9283 That would depend on what you consider fast group rides. Lots of miles since posting originally. Several different tire variations depending on conditions/terrain. Still like the bike, it's a steady and stable addition to the quiver.

    Great video, @dialedcycling how did you find it on long road rides to get to the gravel? Most reviews seem to focus on the off-road characteristics, I’m very curious about the road side of this bike?

    • @DialedCycling
      @DialedCycling  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you, and thanks for watching! The URS rides really well on the road... In fact, many of my rides begin with somewhere between 5-15 miles of road before getting to some gravel or off-road trails. You obviously need to work a little harder to overcome the rolling resistance of the bigger tires if you want to maintain similar speeds on a road bike, but all in all, it rides really well. If you’re coming off a road bike, you’ll notice a slightly different feel for the way the bike tracks and corners on the road due to the slack head tube angle, but you acclimate quickly. I didn’t think twice about it after 5 minutes of riding the bike. That aside, it rides like a comfortable endurance bike that you can sit on for hours and hours. I honestly can’t say enough good stuff about the URS, and I highly recommend taking one for a demo if you can get your hands on one!

    • @pramato121
      @pramato121 3 роки тому

      Outstanding, I’m looking for a gravel bike to replace a Gorilla Monsoon with huge 2.25” tires that was to much. Could you occasionally do a 20 mile road ride say? I have a Synapse for my road rides and a mountain bike so this is the in between bike. Normally I’ll take the synapse on the road for sure.

    • @DialedCycling
      @DialedCycling  3 роки тому

      @@pramato121 Absolutely. I’ve actually done several of them. It’s actually pretty fun because you’re not confined... If you happen to run across something else that looks fun to ride, you can hit it and then get back on your merry way. 👍

    • @rcg9573
      @rcg9573 3 роки тому

      Very nice bike, but for mixed road and gravel BMC should really offer a 2X option. They should also offer a hard tail version without the MTT elastomer that adds lots of extra maintenance IMO.

    • @DialedCycling
      @DialedCycling  3 роки тому

      @@rcg9573 Good points. The MTT has been pretty rock solid thus far, though... We have only needed to service it once in the last year, and it has worked flawlessly in over 1200 miles since. This includes a lot of foul weather.
      As for having a 2x option, the 1x12 drivetrain with the proper sized chainring does incredibly well. We do feel that the bike is grossly under geared with the 38t it comes with.

    Thanks for the review! Do you have any information about the carbon wheels that come on the URS 01 Two? They seem to be a BMC house label, but what are your impressions from riding them? Do you have any idea who actually makes the carbon rims or hub internals?

    • @DialedCycling
      @DialedCycling  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you, Dan! Yes, the CRD-400 wheelset is made by BMC. Regarding who actually makes them, we can’t say for sure, but we will ask bmc directly to see if we can get an answer. Stay tuned. So far, they have been great wheels!

    • @aham23
      @aham23 2 роки тому

      Any feedback on those stock wheels on the 21? Did you upgrade them?

    • @DanHooks
      @DanHooks 2 роки тому +1

      @@aham23 I didn't mention it in my question, but I've actually owned the URS 01 TWO for over a year. I have not upgraded the wheels, and am generally happy with them. They feel pretty comfortable, and I don't notice much sideways flex. I believe that they weight in at ~1600g +/- 30g. The rim dimension (23mm internal width, hooked, 32mm external, 40mm depth), appearance, and ballpark weight match up really closely with Reynold's ATR models. I suspect that they are relabeled versions of these. My only real gripe with the wheels is that the engagement on the rear hub feels slow. Counting the pawl clicks while pedaling backwards makes me think it has 15 degree engagement. With my question I was kind of hoping someone might tell me that they use 3rd party internals that could be upgraded for faster engagement...

    • @JDRVP
      @JDRVP Рік тому

      They are made by Cascade Racing Designs

    • @DanHooks
      @DanHooks Рік тому

      @@JDRVP Though Cascade Racing Designs does have the initials "CRD", I think that is just a coincidence. Cascade Racing Designs appears to be a small shop in the pacific northwest making hand built enduro wheels, and they don't really resemble the BMC gravel wheels in any way (aside from being round).

    • @DialedCycling
      @DialedCycling  6 місяців тому +1

      You can for sure ue the URS as an "only bike" if you're not looking to race. The bike is super comfortable on the road, and we've seen several people use it on some long road rides with great success! Thanks for watching!

    What would you recommend between this bike and litespeed watia ?

    • @DialedCycling
      @DialedCycling  3 роки тому +1

      We have not had the opportunity to get our hands on the Litespeed yet, but it does look Iike a nice bike! Based on the different frames, the Litespeed will be a lot less compliant due to the more ridgid titanium build. By comparison, the URS will be more comfortable to ride for long periods of time, and the MTT will also help maintain better traction with the different road surfaces. We can’t say enough good stuff about the URS, but the Ti Litespeed looks pretty sweet as well!
