Watching this made me think of my pass interviews and how screwed up that was 😂. I was still lucky enough to get the job 😂. Now to another career journey in life. This will be a big one 🙏
Can you make a video about looking for jobs with a disability? I'm on the autism spectrum so sometimes things like modulating tone and body language in job interviews are tricky. Thanks!
Thanks JT.. made the mistake of not writing it down and rehearsing over and over. I agree that when you’re delivery is smooth and confident people want you on their team when you can convey who you are and what value you bring.
I found your question on telling Me About Yourself during the past interview I've found it for the interview to realize my knowledge and work-related experience and how I handle certain situations in my work experience on various job sites.
i loved the answer but what if you were doing a different job not related to your career and know your going for an interview that is in your career line
Thank u, what a great content. Problems how if u are having difficulty of just expressing it fluently in english and u are changing the career as well.
Katy Gonzalez you don’t need a lot of experience to give a great response. I think WorkItDaily does a great job of stressing the importance of your brand - it’s one approach of many but a good one and if you stick to that, you can create a great response.
I agree with 101 Mentor. There are plenty of ways to showcase your related experiences- internships, playing on a sports team, writing for the school newspaper. Think of any extracurricular activity and you can use that to build upon and talk about yourself. Good luck with your job search.
I'm so lost on what to say. I've been unemployed for 5 months. "What do you do?" I can't say, "Nothing. I'm unemployed." Before this, I spent 1.5 years working for a publishing company that ripped people off. I did horribly there because I wasn't willing to scam people. I couldn't take it anymore. I called in so often, I figured I'd get fired soon, anyways, so one morning I just snapped and quit and it was the best day ever! I'm applying for retail/customer service jobs, like grocery stores, Target, etc. I have 8 years of experience, but 6 of them are 2011 and older. What can my "brand" be?
If you've never had any work experience, talk about other skills. If you are a new graduate, you can talk about internships or extracurricular activities where you've gained skills. You can also talk about how you can add value to the company based on something you did in your background- maybe you've traveled a lot. That's great if you are applying for a job at a hotel or travel agency. Maybe you've volunteer coached a child's sports team. That is useful for the sports field, working in schools, working in hospitals where you have to deal with people that need extra hand-holding and care. There are plenty of ways to talk about skills and experiences even if you've never worked a day in your life! Good luck. :)
I learned so much from this video, however I'm is questioning myself how to apply this story telling when you have had a five year gap in your career to be a full time mom.
Thank you for all these tutorials, i really do apprecaite your time , do you have tutorial on how to write personal /personal statment pls ? have searched through your account , as cant find it unless it's labled differently .
What if the thing I love most about my job is the undocumented computer programming skills I have used in my job? I am a document imaging specialist, but my boss has allowed me to bring my programming language in to deal with some of the weightier tasks.
You are so well spoken and helpful. P.S. How's that jaw? I'm doing PT for my TMJ and it's changed my life. I used to have a cross bite. (I'm truly a nurse, always assessing lol )

Great video! I need to brush up on my answer to this much-dreaded question LOL I like the tip about personal brand statement.

Could you pls give an example of a personal branding statement?
I feel so much better about completely revamping my response. Keeping it sweet and simple is the key. Big thanks!

@@laurellynn8496 Thank u
This just sealed my confidence in myself. I appreciate this insight. Thank you JT.
Got the job !!
so is it a question of "what are you good at?"
Manager : Tell me about your self
Me :My name is ......
Such an important question. Thanks for sharing.
Get a career coach who has recently worked in corporate hr, they have the inside information you need. Many of them on YT.
What do you do if you’re applying to a job within the same field? I can’t really explain what I do to someone who does the same thing...
Is it okay to have the answer to this question written down and to refer to notes while answering this question?
so i don't need to talk about previous experience or university degree?
This is so amazing! Awesome! Thank you!
I am new to remote work. This is very insightful!
Woah! Great content as always. I just composed mine while she is talking. My mind keeps making up something just hearing her voice.
Hi I'm from the Philippines
At first when I saw your video, I'm not that interested about it but JT made me subscribe and turn the bill on😊
Thank u
I was wondering if you can use the same responses to different questions that are similar.
i loved the answer but what if you were doing a different job not related to your career and know your going for an interview that is in your career line

Thanks for sharing. This is a great video with plenty of good advice.
How do you answer this as a fresh graduate? In an interview for your first job?
If you've never had any work experience, talk about other skills. If you are a new graduate, you can talk about internships or extracurricular activities where you've gained skills. You can also talk about how you can add value to the company based on something you did in your background- maybe you've traveled a lot. This is one of my favourite questions to ask candidates and it’s too bad so many don’t come in prepared.
