Why do they use potato starch instead of powdered sugar Emmy? The only mochi I've had so far has been in the kids kits. Well we adults like them too but you know what I mean lol.😉 Sadly they weren't very good. I think Aldi's sells some now so I hope to try them from there next. I got a brownie recipe off the back of a Baker's Chocolate bar package. That was yummy too. We like to undercook them so they're gooey. Thanks Emmy!😍🍙🍫
They look beautiful; that high contrast pink and dark brown! AND they sound delicious! I've never had fresh mochi, just frozen. Maybe I need to make some so.I can try it!
I'm an Edge Brownie person. I have a confession to make- when I make a tin of brownies, I cut all the edges off, thinly, while it's still warm and eat them all myself. Then I cut the remaining centre portion into brownies and give them away as usual, no one has ever noticed that no brownies have edges or there's no corner pieces. I feel good for sharing this with whoever reads this comment. Thank you.
I'm so glad you're finally making these! After your video from Hawaii, I couldn't get mochi brownies out of my head and made them myself. They were so delicious, and now I'm thinking of them again!
The brownies that made me famous among my bf’s friends are 1 box Ghirardelli + 1 box cheap brownies + extra chocolate chips (made according to directions) and cooked in an 8*8 until toothpick 1 inch from the edge is clean. If you want them even fudgier, you can steal Alvin’s method to wrap it in foil out of the oven and stick in the freezer for 30 minutes to condense them.
@@scottfw7169 lol it was an old Mountain Dew commercial about 10 or 15 years ago. You could look it up on here if you're curious, but it's more stupid stoner humor than anything else.
Just a tip (if you don't already know it) if you toss the chocolate chips or nuts in a tablespoon of flour first they won't sink to the bottom of the batter. Also to keep parchment paper from flipping over use the metal binder clips that offices use for stacks of paper. Since its metal they won't melt in the oven and can be reused.
I totally remember there being something sort of similar from my childhood, except of course, they weren’t mocha on the outside… they were like a marshmallow coating with devils food cake inside… Pink Snowballs, for holidays, maybe… but the white marshmallow-y layer with chocolate cake on the inside was more common
The dip that shows up after a cake/brownie comes out of the oven is due to too much leavening. It rises too quickly in the oven and then can't hold its form as it's cooling and collapses. Scrapping the side only makes it easier to get it out of the pan. And I'm a brownie person. Edge or center, don't care. Just brownie. Lol
Hello! Just some friendly thoughts. :) I disagree with your comment about the leavening agent. It may be accurate for this specific recipe.. but proper recipes still need to be edged after coming out of the oven if not properly greased. I’ve been baking brownies from scratch for over 5 years in a bakery and have tested many theories. My perfect slabs are lined with parchment, but still greased with cocoa and a fat. If the brownie edges are glued to the sides of the pan, the middle will deflate as it has nowhere to pull cool air from as the hot air is being released. If the sides won’t go in…. the top definitely will! Agree/disagree?? Would love to hear your thoughts as you sound knowledgeable!!
Edge, centre, corner, I like all brownies. Wanna kick it up a notch, try buttering them, it ticks most of the boxes of frosting for me but without overwhelming sweetness from adding more sugar to an already really sweet brownie. Or go the other way and make nanaimo bars using brownies as a base...
I literally just looked up "Hawaiian mochi stuffed with brownies" because I had the same kind when I visited back in 2016. I have not stopped thinking about it, so glad I found this video!
I have to make these! I just came from her videos where she makes brownies with Mochi pieces baked inside and this is the reverse of that, I think I would love it both ways lol Great recipe Emmy thanks!
Hi Emmy and Friends! Lizzie from Renton, Washington. That brownie is the best recipe! I work for a land title company. On the last recording day of the month I used to make that recipe and bring it to the office. Pre Civic of course. When word got out that these brownies were in the house, people I hadn't seen in a month would suddenly appear. People from other offices would show up. You did good with that! Kisses!
Thanks for the code Emmy, I've been wanting to get one of these subscriptions for my daughter for a long time! She just turned 17 yesterday and she'll love this!
Columbus has this amazing mochi donut small business (the mochi shop) and this video made me wonder what a brownie made like a mochi donut would taste 😍
Hi Emmy, just wondering if I replaced the water with coffee could I make a coffee mochi coating for the brownie? Wondering if you could play with the liquid to change the flavor of it
I have been interested in oils and how different oils are made, I think it would be both interesting and entertaining to see you attempt to make some!!!
The link 🇯🇵 partner.bokksu.com/emmymade is working now! ✈️Sorry for the hiccup.
In the future, you can bloom the cocoa powder with the wet ingredients or just the water/butter to also increase the chocolatey flavor.
Mochi wrapped brownie - so plump and attractive!!
Oooooooooooooot
My first ‘Bokksu’ came today! It’s lovely 😊!

I made Kirby in mochi form. 😍 Who would you be in mochi form?
Emmy I would be Snorlax in mochi form 🤣🤣
Prince. 😂
Crazy me just me
If you want to stop your chocolate chips from sinking, lightly coat them in flour before incorporating into the batter.
Ohhhhhh that’s always bugged me! Gonna try it.

We'd get along perfectly because I don't like the edge pieces!
@Sian, your penance is to send me a tin of dark chocolate brownies, then all will be forgiven.
ajajajajaja 😂 🤣

my japanese teacher makes brownies with glutinous rice flour, theyre so good. they have a slightly boncey but still rich texture.
Your the sweetest love to watch your videos!
Love King Arthur. They make easy recipes and even their boxed mixes are good. I love their molds. This year I got the Christmas tree kit.
I like the new time stamp lol really help with skipping parts :P
