I have 2012 and the 2nd VGT turbo took a dump, so I am going with the 3rd gen swap, I kept getting P2262 and P226C and P040D (That's an EGR code since I don't have it anymore), I reloaded my tune and the P2262 and 226C are not showing up, I may reload he tune to be on the safe side and then again I may just do a plug and play and go from there.

I love my VGT, ( 2016 Ram) but the actuator went on it and I did a turbo upgrade at the same time, ( another VGT turbo) if I have any other issue within the same time span, I will have a decision to make, It boils down to how much I like it, so this would be an alternative.

I’m in such a dilemma. My trans is going and now my vgt is sticking. 😞 can’t win with this truck.

@LOFTH_YT interesting, that makes me nervous to do it as I didn't wanna have to pay for new tuning all over again. I sent them an email and they confidently stated no re-tune is required

What size is the rubber hose? My kit didn’t come with the hose or hose clamps

We no longer use the hose. We use a billet piece that the factory drain slides into instead.

Do you need to retune after installing this? I have a ‘13 and starting to have issues. The truck is already tuned via efi live but The original tuner is no longer in business..

weston r no retune necessary. Their kit is awesome I got turbo manifold and bigger intake. Truck is awesome, highly recommend

weston r I had a trusted mechanic do it for me just to save time, we were worried about retune as well but none is necessary. No engine codes . You can hear turbo and air way better. Plus the actual exhaust sounds better with the split manifold. Just call the guys that sell this they are nice and can give you more information

Let's be clear here. This swap doesn't require a tune? Is that with or without the check engine light and errors? Sorry, but I'm calling bullshit on an error free swap. Tell me you unplugged the VGT, installed an S300 and went down the road with no codes and I'll call you a freekin' liar. But don't take my word for it.

You won’t need a retune if the truck already has tuning.
