I like the idea of no VGT but the exhaust brake is super nice when towing.
Yes that’s true, there are some aftermarket exhaust brakes you can install but none as good as the built in exhaust brake on a vgt turbo in my opinion.
Sounds A lot like a 5.9 now.

BD's Electric EB is $1k USD and ties into the factory EB button and functions on these trucks. I paired it with my Smeding s363 billet wheel kit :)

I was concidering going with a non VGT turbo in my 2012 RAM 2500 CTD, but having the EB is the nicest thing that I couldn't be without, I just replaced the turbo, so if this one goes out then I will go with the non VGT, and with the 5 inch TB exhaust, I can imagine that it will sound amazing.
You might have built more boost than you think. I think the stock MAP sensor only reads to 36psi... Which gave you your 49 reading on your scan tool...
I will forgive your non-well thought out words about kilometers versus miles per hour. Kilometers are old-school miles per hour, and the standard system as a whole is the way of the future. Not sure why the rest of the world wants to stay in the Stone Age ha ha ha.
I like the no smoke idea too. Makes engines more reliable. Would an aftermarket bolt on exhaust brake kit work with this fixed blade turbo? If so, any manufacturers that make a kit for this setup?
There is lots of companies out there that make brakes that go inline in the exhaust. Just get the right size for your exhaust.
My wife does not like you at all. She knows that you inspired me to A get a diesel and B do all the work. I’ve done to it. I run mine in the auto position, so well, I have reliability issues, keeping the veins constantly flexing?
5.9 guys saying, I got to get a vgt turbo.....6.7 guys say get this code throwing dog shit off here and give me a regular turbo..... And I'm just stroking from the sidelines.....🎉

To me atleast - nothing sounds better than a Cummins until you get into Semi's ... Was wondering where your at with your '22. I lost 2 bolts for the ECM that bolt the ECM to the bracket - having a hell of a time finding the part # for those bolts.

Awesome video man. If I was up your way I would let you do a video on my Smeding s464/1.00. One thing to note which I am in the process of getting a boost guage not tied into my tuner because mine will only read 36 psi max. Max Tow makes a really nice looking boost guage and fitting that simply replaces a bolt on the grid heater plate that allows you to do either a mechanical or electronic boost guage without tapping your intake horn.

I put an inline BD exhaust brake in my 2021 with a 2nd Gen swap. Works as factory off factory switch. Dropped egts like crazy. Running a s467 though.

My 2018 Just past 60k miles.. I am waiting for the VGT code.. (I do drive and tow daily with the EB on). If and when it shits the bed, Ill drive! Would you work on a truck from the states?
Best thing can do is get rid of the stock vgt on these trucks they work alot better. We did this back in 2010 istall a 66mm turbo on a 07 6.7l a man did it wake it up gain tons of power that was with just a 100hp tune.
I’ve been a standard all my life and we have been slowly changing to meteoric and it’s good but just hard to figure stuff in your head. So just think they change all your stuff to standard and see how much fun that is and down here half is metrics and half standard it sucks but don’t get me wrong I like metric but I had to spend a ton of money on new tools !
do they give u a down pipe? mine won’t fit to the exhaust because the manifold pushes the turbo forward like 5 inches.. did u push the exhaust forward? or did u get another down pipe?
Some cops will get you for driving on shoulder and if you cause a wreck from driving on shoulder your screwed.

Sounds nice but I would not give up my EB. I tow throughout Colorado and the EB is indispensable. My BIGGEST question is have EGTs improved?

5.9s didn’t have a variable geometry turbo
Any injector noise with that tune and setup.
the stock map sensor wont read over 50. so your boost reading is most likely not accurate but only one way to know for sure.
Well it never quite hit 50, it just barely hit 49.75 at the peak of that pull. Good to know though.

Can MM3 tuner be used for non vgt tunes on a 2012.6.7?
I believe so but you would have to get tunes written and emailed out to you to upload onto the mm3 tuner. See if dirty diesel customs can help you out, tell them you want ccs tunes and use DARKIRON5 for 5% off
