I had UA-cam TV when it was $35 / month. Then they added channels I didn't want or need and price increases kept escalating. Game over for me. Just give us the option to pick our channels we actually want. Prices would go down, subscribers would go up, and channels nobody cares about would die on the vine - as they should.
August 2020 when they went from 50 to 65 a month was when I gave up. I already wasn't watching much and it made no sense to pay more to not watch much.
I agree. It went from $72.99 to $82.99. I wish I could pick my own personal channels. A lot of fluff is on. I got Frndly TV for Life Time and MeTV. That price is $8.79. Next, you have to pay for Wi-Fi. It is well over $100 dollars! That price is no different from the cable price I used to have! Greed!
They're making the same mistake cable tv made. Nobody has learned a thing. Streamers should all refuse to carry locals unless locals agree to be included for free like they used to be in the early days of cable.
The problem is they can't and not allowed to give you the channels you want. Typically if a TV broadcast like Disney get on a cable or stream network. They say, if UA-cam TV wants the local ABC, Fox and Disney channel, you also have to add the 30+ channels Disney owns. And then Disney says, oh btw you also have to pay us full price for all 30 channels. So it's either no Disney owned channels or all 30+ Disney channels for full price. We the consumer and UA-cam TV are pretty much held hostage. Sling TV has an option where you can choose between CBS owned, Disney owned, warner own etc. but then you only get channels in those companies network.

Network channels shouldn't get anything from the streaming or cable companies, as the channels are free if you use an ota antenna. Their revenue for ads is based off viewers, therefore more viewers they get more revenue.
While it is easy to blame the TV services for the higher costs (first cable TV, now premium live TV streaming), much of this is being directed by the channels and content providers themselves. You want one particular channel? Well, guess what? You must pay for a bunch of their other channels. They are not going to allow al a carte TV unless viewers are willing to pay a high price for just that one channel. Cheap al a carte TV is now a delusion. I wish it weren't the case.

They blame the cable company because that's where they receive their Bill but it's the Content owners ( Disney, Discovery, Paramount, ect....) that continue to raise their prices and the streaming services and cable companies have to pass on the increase. Most cable companies are just breaking even or losing money offering TV services that's why you will see many that continue to drop the service. But guess what streaming services will continue to raise their prices and as content owners lose AD revenue from cable companies dropping services . Plus unlike streaming service that don't have to negotiate prices in every market like traditional cable companies have too under OLD outdated FCC rules - cable companies can't compete and not allowed to offer "A-la-Cart" channels like consumer wants - MARk MY WORD - in a few years the UA-cam TVs will replace the cable companies and you will be right back where you stated with Higher prices. Since tv went digital a cable box is just a streaming box with a DVR built in. A cable box and a Roku receive and deliver content in exactly the same way there was a no difference
@@elcaballeronyc I am talking about the infrastructure to deliver the signal. Some people may not even need or want internet, or they use their cell for that. If the cable companies are sending their tv through the internet using the cable that is not necessary.
@@elcaballeronyc In other words stop with running a net tv service and just send the tv signals through the cable like they used to. Should be able to do this cheaper than net services.
Merry Christmas & Good Morning!
Satellite communications should be a godsend for the western Reservations. 10:54
Cord cutter 2.0 since 8/23
Local networks are showing how scummy they are.
Why do you INSIST on using a Fire TV when the screensaver is always popping up? Use an Apple TV and the problem solved. No more bloopers.
All Network TV...needs to broadcast live on their website... you should not need cable or antenna to get TV 😮
They used to and I watched them. Now it is on demand.
Direct TV Stream and Hulu Live TV, should count as cable
Sometimes I get drunk and try to direct my stream off my balcony on to parked cars!
Why does it seem our entertainment is run by the greediest people on earth?
it seems that way because it is true.
I hope this helps.
Didn't take long.
My TV did not turn off the Vizio home page when I tried to Go to antenna TV.... kept saying you are not connected to the network... Then I turned it off and it came back on 😮...B S
Happy Wednesday and Merry Christmas to you and your family
As soon as I saw rumors that Roku was going to start pulling TOS shenanigans, I disabled WiFi on my tv. My Roku tv now only exists to serve my Xbox.
There are rumors that some like to TOSS around, like salad
Great video lol
It's Christmas everywhere!
Nooooooooo not a Christmas clip show
but he looks so hot in that jacket!
Distributors. Stop paying for content. It’s a dumb as paying a hitchhiker to give them a ride. Stop. Providers are double dipping by charging advertisers and distributors. Distributors need to just cut them off and let them figure it out the hard way. It will suck for a bit but it will correct itself when the advertisers realize they are not getting out.
Merry Christmas 🎄⛄🎄⛄🎄⛄ to all at cord cutters News
"Phonehacking TV," DoJ?
You should only pay for the channel you want no one wants 90% of that other shit they put in all these packages

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Im waiting for Prime video to become a separate service. Then I'll only watch UA-cam videos snd OTA.
Merry Christmas 2024, Even though I hate Cable TV & Never will Pay for It. Happy with every TV Show on Discs.... Because there going to Charge to watch future Antenna TV, I haven't used a TV for over 3 years now.
Stop complaining about the local channels. That’s not what is jacking prices up, it’s plain greed . Plus when most channels went digital it was much harder to receive them over air. The whole thing is a mess.
Merry Christmas
I got tired. Just plain add free for a fee or free ad support apps. Antena for little lib e tv I watch
… pluto and Roku tv is all I need
Roku’s change of service ensured I will never purchase another Roku product.
For me this still means no local Yankee games on UA-cam TV unless it's on FS1 or ESPN. So UA-cam TV better work something out with the local sports cable channels or I'm not using them again beyond that 7-day trial I had with them on June 2023.
Merry Christmas Luke! Love the jacket!!! 🎄🎄🎄
Hopefully 300K Subscriptions are under your Christmas Tree. 🎄🎅
I would love to be under Luke, that jacket looks fabulous on him!
Another TV provider closes and tells you to go to another TV provider name UA-cam TV. Cable 2.0.
If local networks want that, then the FCC should require them to adopt ATSC 3.0 within 5 years. No longer voluntary.
No, the DRM and encryption makes ATSC-3 a non-starter. It makes a nonsense of "the public's air waves". Anyone who wants to encrypt should lose their spectrum allocation and be forced to only stream
You mean the 3.0 where you have to have a internet connection to watch via antenna? Nah, I'm good. UA-camr Lontv for more info on that.
@@dlewis9760 I completely agree. ATSC-3 has been made into a disaster. I expect in the long term, the FCC will take away the rest of the TV spectrum because nobody is watching. The reason nobody will be watching will be because you have to subscribe to get the decryption keys.
On that happy note, I will wish you the seasons best
The Roku change in agreement didn't bother me at all. Seems like a shift to arbitration. As a longtime mediator, I didn't have a problem clicking ok.
I expect the big broadcast networks to begin to negatively influence OTA TV in 2025 so they can control and profit from it.
idk about the money issues but the fcc having some control over streaming could be a good thing
Then the question is "Who controls the FCC"
@kensmith5694 5 commissioners appointed by the President and overseen by Congress
@@kngrfdegj5940 That is just who they are and not really who controls them. If you look at their actions you will see that they are not in the public's interest as they are supposed to be. They act in corporate interests.
******
Best of the season to yo
@@kensmith5694 considering the termination of the Paramount Decree and the lack of actions taken by the FCC during the transition to streaming, I think I agree with you 👍
Cord Cutters BLOOPERS! 😅😅😅
Never buying a Roku TV, but the only time I'd have a TV connected to the Internet would be for a firmware update.
I wouldn't even do a firmware upgrade. My coal fired TV is working fine for me thanks to the converter box. When that stops working I see no need for a TV. For less money, I can get a computer and monitor for that location.
Oh I love it firm and updated!
Why don't they all star in a prison/waterboarding show?
Merry Christmas
