@disowned king JKR is still around. the "LGB Alliance" is still around. I get emails from Twitter promoting the shit out of TERF accounts weekly! Transphobes, racists, and misogynists are given a huge audience on Twitter and it's frankly depressing. And it does real harm.
It's so embarrassing how these people are so desperate to be heard regardless of what they have to say or who's listening. Grasping at straws for attention and begging for followers instead of living their lives.
The thing about affirmative action and housing programs/food stamps that really frustrates me is that those systems directly benefit white communities more than it ever has POC communities yet black communities are the only ones who are targeted against when it is used!! Affirmative action helps White women the most by a land slide and it’s just so frustrating seeing this rhetoric constantly.
They also misunderstood affirmative action. The way it was proposed in may state is that they could use ones race as a tie breaker for equally qualified candidates.
especially when u consider that a lot of those social welfare programs arent just like... the gov giving u free money like a lot of these ppl seem to think?? the narrative of the "welfare queen" that's like "gaming the system" to get money without having to work just doesnt exist bc welfare programs are not designed to actually lift anyone out of poverty lol
i've always said if affirmative action gives black people more opportunity than qualified white people, its failing horribly because i was consistently the only black or latino kid in many of my classes at my "prestigious" high school.
I heard that when some people see for example a poc person who has an important occupation they usually assume that they got in because of affirmative actions and not his qualifications so they refuse to take service from him, also othering by coworkers.
The French rap section took me out lmao. This is genuinely the best video I've seen from you, Nick. exactly what I needed to see during finals week. Thank you!

I can't believe you did a spaces video and didn't talk about Spaces Got Talent! It's so good. You gotta tune in the next time they do one. There are some really talented people that come on
Idk what twitter spaces expects from me, a woman who doesn’t believe men as a whole have it worse than women. Because I got a male support group recommended to me and I clicked it and its just women hate and how men have it soooo hard.
I do think we need to raise awareness about certain issues, like how adult men are have the highest risk of dying to suicide, which comes from patriarchal beliefs that men shouldn't care about their mental health. HOWEVER, a lot of MRA groups have been taken over by misogynists and that really damages the efforts made to help men who are struggling with the expectations of society. I'm an egalitarian, I believe everyone deserves to receive help and it's sad that bigots are taking away spaces from the people who genuinely want to get help for themselves and others.
@@starsiadraws I totally agree mens spaces need to exist and be much more help based and not pity based. I feel like it’s not womens fault but mainly mens fault for the hardships men face; aka the patriarchy. Toxic masculinity (which i think is what causes the suppression of mens own feelings like you brought up), voilence among men, sa against men.. its all largely a product of living under such a patriarchy. I wish support groups would be more about undoing the damage done by such a world and dismantling the effects that it has on them and those around them.
@@roseaeries You want to help? Stop blaming the imaginary patriarchy and don't blame toxic masculinity. Both are just vague concepts that do more harm than good.
man, this,,,,,,,,,, really hurt to watch. i'm 21 and i came out as trans nonbinary almost six years ago so transphobic shit doesn't really get under my skin anymore (unless i go down a terrible rabbit hole) so it makes me cringe, sure, but mostly bc i'm thinking about teens trying to come to terms with their gender while having all this garbage pushed to them like it's normal. without even going in to any of the "spaces," those titles could really fuck a person up - especially someone in a vulnerable state or feeling insecure in themselves. all in all, never have i ever been so glad i stopped using twitter a while ago
16:40 as someone with a low income job who moved out at 19 and into a house i also qualify for all of those things which just shows how often POC are low income ughhhh
that's what i was thinking !!! like those programs weren't made specifically for black ppl, so why does he think so many black people end up having to use them? maybe it's because of the systemic racism he keeps denying exists??? also he talks about government programs as if they're good and helpful which is just not the case for many people
@@Maka0Soul exactly like even tho im on free government healthcare its not like i can get every medicine and operation and no therapists near me cover it either the only thing that is nice is EBT but again that only covers food people still have to worry about rent and bills i just cant wrap my head around people who think poc are just handed things
The term POC isn't helping. It's outdated and it weirdly applies to Asian. One moment they're POC and then the next, they're no different than a white person.

@@jonny5738 I don't actually know what they said in french but the way they were like "hell yea go on" when nick asked if he can rap too then hyped him up with emojis when he was rapping was hella wholesome. not excluding the possibility that someone might've cracked some jokes in french tho cause ion speak it 😭
@@jonny5738 this is from another comment I saw so idk if it's completely true...
"When Nick started talking, one of them just said "Oh fuck he started speaking English and you all stuttered""
I also know the tiniest bit of French and it doesn't really sound like they're saying anything negative, they probably just feel awkward. BUT I might be wrong lmao.
@@aduck4567 I'm french and the guy absolutely did say that! They were not expecting this, especially since they were just chatting about unrelated topics and not rapping. Then it's difficult for me to understand because everybody speak at the same time but they seem to be surprised by how good the freestyle is? Maybe pretty hyped that an american would suddenly appear in the conv to rap, I'm sure it made their day.
@@jonny5738 they were all being supportive and making fun of the others for not speaking English lol, surprisingly nice!
You’re not mean, Nick. You laid out simple instructions, had basic expectations, and the audience knew the consequences for not following the instructions. You just stuck by your word
let’s start with something light
“TRANSPHOBIA”
actually cackling out loud, thanks for the first laugh of my day 💜
same I cackled
That made me double take so hard
I OUTLOUD said "transphobia is a light topic? This is about to get bad"
Tommy isn't entirely wrong.
I died inside. 🥲
I love how a barking contest turned into talking confusion and fear of being small in the world
This man did not just call biracial people mutts-
I've never wanted to punch someone more in my whole life
What's wrong with being a mutt? Mutts are awesome: rat terriers, boxers, Yorkshire terriers, pharaoh hounds, Ibizan hounds, American pit bull terriers, Eurasiers, Pomeranians, Australian cattle dogs, Jack Russell terriers, American Indian dogs, need I go on?

I absolutely lost my mind at that lmfao
“Why are black people pushed everywhere”, just say “why are there less white people”. we all know that’s what you’re trying to talk around.
Really wanted someone to say “Why do they keep pushing white people everywhere”
The "Are there too many black women in public?" space messed me up for a few days.
I will never understand the demonization of black women. Racist's will say anything to further put down some of the most marginalized and discriminated against people in society. That is such a psycho thing to even state, black women are just people and they have the same rights the rest of us have to be wherever the fuck they want. I'm sorry you saw that space, twitter really needs to crack down on these shithole places on their site that just promote pure hatred. This is like if 4chan had voice chat groups, what a nightmare. Like the transphobic dude comparing trans people to pedophiles or white people "identifying" as poc and then not letting anyone else talk,,, bro cmon 🤮
like wtf. "why are there so many massive calf-having white men in public?" sorry people exist why have a shitty one sided racist rant in disguise as a "debate"
me, a black woman who rarely goes outside, considering leaving the house just to piss these people off (but haha no i wont do that because its dangerous out there)
“now these spaces are going to get kind of heavy, so i want to start out with something light.” *transphobia, racism, and rap battles*
ah yes the holy trinity
It still amazes me that there are still so many people who share these stupid opinions.
i really like your pfp! did you draw it yourself?
Eh, I've seen dumber.
We should take the pin out of opinions and just share onions with each other.
The fact that they are letting these opinions be platformed as if they are all equal makes people believe that they're being validated for holding the worst opinions of all time

the repeated fists up emojis while nick is rapping to the french rappers in making me pee laughing
why has no one pointed out that Twitter spaces are literally just discord stages but worse.
it makes me so angry that twitter is encouraging these "hot debates" bc twitter wants more activity... but all they're doing is making twitter unsafe for so many ppl :/
So many people are wussies? Eh, if you say so.
@@SirBlackReeds ah yes, bc you have to be a "wussy" to be worried about giving white supremacists and transphobes a platform...
when you give angry bigots a community of like-minded ppl, they tend to become violent and either verbally or physically attack the ppl they want to oppress. there are ppl who will suffer the consequences of twitter not nipping this blatant show of hatred in the bud.
@disowned king highly debatable. That’s usually if the account is spam reported.
@@moonshower8436 They’re a troll account, they’re commenting all over this video. Just report it and don’t reply
The person who speaks most should be decided by votes. A test of sheer charisma.
If only you knew the amount of persons that statement applies to.
I agree. Nick joining that French rap group was pretty desperate...
dude just hearing that guy call a whole group of people “mutts” is so gross
nick: “call me da baby cuz you know i am da boss”
everyone else: *french muttering*
Time stamp plz
Usually my dog freaks out at dogs barking and he didnt wake up from his sleep. Everyone loses according to him lmao.
That's really funny because someone else posted a comment about how their dog got freaked out at each bark and they all win. The dog polarity lol
@@Maka0Soul true that!
i've always said if affirmative action gives black people more opportunity than qualified white people, its failing horribly because i was consistently the only black or latino kid in many of my classes at my "prestigious" high school.
I heard that when some people see for example a poc person who has an important occupation they usually assume that they got in because of affirmative actions and not his qualifications so they refuse to take service from him, also othering by coworkers.
the French rappers reacting the ✊ emoji & going "ayye" makes me fuckin lose it

A friend mentioned to me a space with white dudes talking about black women and yeah it was as shitty as that sounds I didn’t know this problem was this big.
agh 🤦
probably about how there are too many black women in public and too many black people and those heavy stereotypes on black women...? i can almost hear those screeching whities
The editing on this makes it 100x funnier even though it was probably a pain to sit through that and edit it. Great Job man lol
the way french people were hyping up Nick with those react emojis omg
and in french! they said he was decent for freestyle but had trouble understanding the majority of it. they were mainly flustered/surprised at an English speaker in the chat.
Most of the spaces I’ve seen are just people being racist, homophobic, transphobic or just weird af. I’ve also seen ones where fandoms are having petty fights over the dumbest stuff. That’s why I don’t go into any of them because I’m scared of what is going to be said.
For some reason i was like is nick gonna drop bars in French, but then i thought no that doesn't feel right. The barking competition tho with the dude that flushed the toilet lmao.
TL;DR: I wish more male support groups weren't populated by misogynists and bigots and actually focused on getting people the help they need.
@@starsiadraws Shoving the patriarchy into the conversation doesn't help.
@@SirBlackReeds Asian people are poc, but if you want, there are other terms that focus more on black and brown people like BIPOC or BBIMP
