This hurts…so much. Really wish networks would create shows like this again. I’ve learned so much watching these shows as a child. I wonder why kids/preteen TV shows were booming in the late 90’s and early 2000’s and then suddenly stopped? I wonder what happened that caused this sudden drop. Additionally, why the wildlife trend completely disappeared in children shows? Trying to not be dramatic, but it seems like the wildlife theme in children shows declined heavily after Steve Irwin passed away. Thank you for making this.
Thank God for UA-cam. Its a portal of nostalgia, giving us a glimpse of commercials and bumpers of the past. Channels like Discovery Kids defined our childhoods and our lives.
Thank you for this video. I haven’t felt this kind of childhood nostalgia in I can’t even remember how long. This meant something so special and comforting to my inner life and past self as a child growing up in the 2000s.
This is a really awesome video and thank you for taking the time to put it together! So many mention Nickelodeon, Disney, WB Kids, PBS Kids etc, but few mention remembering Discovery Kids. Was it because perhaps not too many had cable? We had DirecTV for the longest time but I always equally watched antenna and cable. I've mentioned DK before to some and some remembered, some didn't. It's almost like a niche to be into and not enough footage of it out there on tape yet, and the DVD's for the show may not be out there as often anymore. Perhaps I answered my own question haha, but I really enjoyed your video and Discovery Kids for sure will always be close to me. I'd love to find it on tape one day! Have a wonderful day! :D.
I loved this channel and the shows! It's so sad you can't find most of them. I wish they would bring all these old shows back like they did with the 90s are all that on Teen Nick. Screech Owls and Real kids Real Adventures were my fav! Oh, and Strange Days at Blake Holsey High.
I remember all of those shows from the animated shows made for the network. The vibes of Discovery Kids were so warm and full of comfort. Teaching us while entertaining!!🥰🥰
Wow, this was a real nostalgia trip! I grew up on this channel while all of those preschool shows were airing. As a child I remember Paz the Penguin, Meteor and the Mighty Monster Trucks, High-5, Peep and the Big Wide World, Save-Ums, Todd-World, Hip Hop Harry, and Wilbur quite fondly. I always used to say Carla from High-5 was my girlfriend lol
Basically if you vaguely remember something on TV and born between 1995-2001 and you are sure what network it was on. This was the channel it was probably on.
I miss Discovery Kids and Ready Set Learn along with Paz, Magic School bus, Timothy, Brum, Save Ums, Toddworld, Hi5, Peep, Bigfoot, Hip Hop Harry, Wilbur, etc since childhood.
The 90s and 2000s were the golden age of kids cable channels. Kids today would not understand how these cable channels defined our childhoods and lives. - Nickelodeon - Cartoon Network - Disney Channel - HBO Family - Discovery Kids - Toon Disney - Playhouse Disney
It's the only WGBH production that never agreed on the network itself. The production company, Soup2Nutz, actually went on to make Wordgirl after Time Warp Trio.
i used to like that channel as a kid once in a while Discovery Kids. Peep and the Big Wide World, Time Warp Trio & Flight 29 Down that boosted-up a good memory.
So many good memories of watching Adventure Camp and Truth or Scare on DK. Miss it very much! Wish the company who owns the rights to them can put old episodes up on YT! Bring back so many memories
I loved watching Discovery Kids in Mexico and when i got the chance to see Discovery Kids in the US i would drool over the great shows. Man i feel sorry for kids these days they just dont have it as good as we did. I'm not saying we lived in perfect times but at least we had great toys to enjoy, great shows, great video games, it was really fun just being a kid back then and not it all seems depressing for them these days.
I used to watch The Magic School Bus on Discovery Kids, since I had none of the other episodes that appeared on tape, along with Paz the Penguin, Save-Ums, Peep, and Todd-World before I went to school. They were good shows, but The Magic School Bus was the top of the heap for me.
Saturday Night Sleepovers was my favorite spooky programming block. Did the castle ghosts of ireland episode (truth or scare) permanently scare me? Absolutely. Still iconic
_Bingo & Molly_ just slotted into a very dusty hole in my memory. I swear, I vaguely remember seeing this show briefly when flicking through channels as a small lad and it's been bothering me for ages. Thanks. 🙂 Quick question, since you seem to know a lot about *Discovery Kids'* programming: Have you ever come across an 2D animated show called _Captain No-Beard?_ Nothing to do with _The Wiggles_ character, just a show about a scrawny-looking pirate and his crew who don't respect him. I'm fairly certain it aired on *Disc. Kids* circa the early 2000s - maybe only on some UK version - but I haven't found anything online at all about it.
I’m surprised Discovery Kids in other countries is still alive to this day meanwhile in the U.S. it was replaced (other way around 99% of the time), especially because it wasn’t even a failure.
i totally love Discovery kids when i was growin up back in my day!!! i had Discovery kids and Boomerang and Teen Nick and Nicktoons and the Hub rather than Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon that my cousins have when they were growin up it was honestly way better than the “better channels” what my cousins would always say!! on Discovery kids I would always watch the Saddle Club, Kenny the Shark, Grossology, Time Warp Trip, Endurance, Growing up Creepie, Peep and the Big Wide World, Mystery Hunters, Future Is Wild, Animal Jam, Tutenstein, Scout’s Safari, Serious, and Truth or Scare! in 2010 when Discovery Kids turned into Hub i stayed up watchin the last show Kenny the Shark and eventually i witnessed the transformation to Hub and i was so sad but i eventually fell in love with the Hub because the Hub showed my dad’s favorite tv shows from when he was growin up in the 80s like Transformers Generation One and GI Joe A Real American Hero in which my dad and i used to watched together!! on the Hub i love watchin Transformers Prime and Dan Vs with my dad’s shows!! 😊👍🏽🤙🏽
Funny how they sold off to Hasbro because of how little views they were getting, only to later buy it BACK to make it Discovery Family for all. Oh I do remember the website, there was an interesting page I remember that contained various animations made of Mythbusters. They were obviously for fun, because it had some violent aspect. Like one that had Jamie and Adam testing the myth of whether people with ginger hair feel more pain. Which ended up escalating to Jamie chasing Adam down with a chainsaw with a murderous gleam in his eyes.
Ok long stretch but, does anyone remember a show where a family traveled thru time or played with time traveled? There’s was this episode I remember that Vikings traveled where the family was and the family were showing the Vikings the new things if the future. One young Viking warrior took a liking to the eldest daughter of the family. By the end of the episode the Viking needed to go and the young warriors sister asked “why is your hair like that” he answered mouse (or gel) i remember finding it here i UA-cam that specific espisode or scene. Now I can’t find it. Was this a show or a movie?!
God I remember this channel 😢 Kenny and Tut where my childhood, after discovery kids became hub I only watch Dan vs and after the show ended I stop watching the channel
The LA verisons are easier to find then the American one I wish Warner Discovery rebranded Discovery Family to into Discovery Kids/ KidsWB to relauch both.

Boneheads was the BEST! Taking to real paleontologists, animated segments, exploring dino theories, and a rocking theme song!!
Thank You for the History on Discovery Kids.😄👍
I remember high 5 watch it back in the 2000 😄
I miss discovery kids so much. This wasy past time on Saturdays back in the 2000's and I thought truth or scare was so cool
Shout-out to Hi-5. Hi-5 walked so the Fresh Beats could run
Operation Junkyard was also cool.
This is a really awesome video and thank you for taking the time to put it together!

Make sure to subscribe as I’ll be sure to talk more about the channel in the future
Recommended gang.

Growing up Creepie
The shows that stuck with me the most on this channel and are my favorites:
Magic School Bus
Grossology
Kenny the Shark
Peep and the Big Wide World
I love how the old logo looks has the GameCube controller's color scheme!
I watched the hell out of Discovery Kids.
I had forgotten so so many of these. I wonder if the content is streamable anywhere.
Vortex can you please do a video on the channel.

Time warp trio literally created my love of history
Oh man! Tutenstein!! I loved that one!
0:18 at the time it was not warner brothers discovery
Fun fact about Time Warp Trio, the show was a co production with a PBS Affiliate... as in THE PBS Affiliate, WGBH Boston.
Five in the air, let's do it together, Hi-5
Does anyone remember the song five senses from the show 😄
@@isaiahedmonson5832I do back from my Ready Set Learn DVD when I first heard it
I do when I first hear it on my Ready Set Learn DVD when there’s a bonus soundtrack after Toddworld DVD and vhs promo from HiT Entertainment
I understand why you said the current parent company but just an reminder Warner didn't own Discovery at this point when Discovery Kids debut.
Back when Discovery made good content. I loved Endurance as a kid
So many good memories of watching Adventure Camp and Truth or Scare on DK. Miss it very much! Wish the company who owns the rights to them can put old episodes up on YT! Bring back so many memories

keep making videos, you'll get better and better! this is a great start.
I wish the Ready Set Learn shows were on Discovery+. 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Imagine if all Discovery Kids and The Hub shows were on there, I’d subscribe
@@B10eProductions Yeah!
God I loved this channel on the weekends. I still think about endurance sometimes

How about TLC
Ready Set Learn was my childhood. 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
I think I remember popular mechanics for kids it’s just I can’t find any eps to watch
Saturday Night Sleepovers was my favorite spooky programming block. Did the castle ghosts of ireland episode (truth or scare) permanently scare me? Absolutely. Still iconic
True or Scare and Mystery Hunters were my favorite late night shows!
Wilbur was a definite favorite of mine from the channel.
Oh boy, you wouldn't understand the weird influence that show had on my crazy dad. 😅
Best network. That and Jetix need to come back
Anybody remembers Save-Ums?
I loved watching that show as a small child!
I do no adventures too big or too small
15:49 Actually, Peep outlasted the network. The last episode aired in 2011.
_Bingo & Molly_ just slotted into a very dusty hole in my memory. I swear, I vaguely remember seeing this show briefly when flicking through channels as a small lad and it's been bothering me for ages. Thanks. 🙂

It isn’t something I’ve ever come across but then again I’m only familiar with what was aired on Discovery Kids US
How about jet x
growing up creepie was underrated
Really wish Warner Bros discovery would post some of these shows on MAX

The Latin American Version Of Discovery Kids Continues To This Day
What about USA Express and Hanna Barbera complete history its about shows from the 80s & 70s and the very past
Discord Kids Latin America had way more original shows, most notably is Doki, he kind of become Discovery kids mascot for us
What about my favourite show Bruno and the banana bunch
THIS CHANNEL COULD HAD RIVAL NICKELODEON AND CARTOONNETWORK
Discovery Kids was a serene lost network/childhood memory it was directly science. 👍🖱
Discovery Kids는 고요한 잃어버린 어린 시절의 기억/네트워크였습니다. 그것은 바로 과학이었습니다.
