Nataly's voice is one of the few you can listen to for hours and hours and not get tired or annoyed of it at all. So soft yet strong and so pleasing to the ear.
I just love watching Hagar play on this track. She's clearly enjoying the song. And she plays so effortlessly and so into the groove, it makes the whole performance better.
I cannot understate how iconic the piano guy is because of his angry jamming face.. I literally come back to all these videos just to see this dude dig into a song. Can it please be a t-shirt, 10/10 would buy that.
Hagar. "No more to be said" followed by the most sincere of Yoda bows. You are in the pocket/groove/moment and all the other music euphamisims. My dream woman. Understanding and owning the power of a primal rhythm.
Bollocks comments aside, that is just great! It's also cool that she knows Elton's music well enough to come up with that at 8 years old. That is very cool.
tbh going in i really didnt see this song fitting Nataly's style, but damn have i been proven wrong. It's so nice and groovy. Has a distinct 80s feel to it. And overall it just feels really good.
Fabulous work. Crisp, CLEAN production values -- very tasteful. No excess, "wretched" or otherwise. Nataly's voice -- not powerful, but compelling. It's what she puts into the song. Cant seem to get enough.
My friend's boyfriend broke up with her yesterday, she was devastated until i showed her this amazing version of i'm still standing, she's so much better now and we're laughing about it all.
I just found Pomplamoose a couple months ago in my birthday, I'm in my 20s now and all I can say is that this was the best birthday gift :) I'm in love with the eyes of Nataly, sometimes I feel like she can see my soul, Jack is a very lucky guy!
Love this version :) The brilliant work of the drummer and bass player keeping that solid beat going is a lesson in 'enough is enough', it's working! I know it's four years after, but some of us have been sleeping, you know? :)))) Rich UK :) Love Pomp, been listening for years!!!
Back on my umpteenth Pomplamoose binging spree. I've been grooving along with Jack at 1:13 for the last 5 minutes or so. I love how he just feels the music, all the time.
This is just the best. Watching these insanely talented people joyfully ROCKING OUT together make me so happy. I'm kinda transfixed. Nataly's voice is amazing, too. Idk - I could watch their videos all day. So much joy and fun in that room! It honestly almost makes me emotional. Keep this stuff up!
If there would be possible to like it ten thousands times, I would do it! One of the best covers to my favourite Elton's songs I've ever heard! Bravo!!!
Cannot agree. Technically she is great, but her voice is very bland and lacks personality. She shows not even a tiny bit of attitude. It's like she is singing in the bathtub.
@@retropolis1 What aspect of her singing is technically "great"? Limited pitch range, limited timbral control, limited dynamics, no timbral effects (e.g intentional distortion), some ornamentation at the end (runs, melisma, bends, etc). She has a good sounding voice, but I think to call her technically great, you have stretched.
@@mrbouncelol depends on what you expect. This is pop music. her dynamics are actually fine, since it is harder to sing quietly while maintaining control. Timbre effects and vibrati are not en vogue in pop music nowadays, and its actually harder to surpress such things in a clear singing voice than forcing them (or forcing them in a wrong manner). So she does exactly what is expected of her in modern pop music. Melismatic melodies are a matter of style, not necessarily of technique. its composition, not execution, unless its free phrasing. She chooses a more minimalistic approach, which is fine. its a matter if choice.
Been coming back to this video for the last 12 hours and humming the song in the meantime. Excellent composition, amazing vocals and man the drums and bass are TIGHT
Vraiment vachement bien. Une belle découverte, avec en plus une chanteuse qui parle un français parfait, voir par ailleurs. Alors oui. Un très grand bravo
Love, love, love it!!! I use several of your French covers with my grade 4-6 French language class students and they still have no idea you are a native English speaker (I assume). Their minds will be blown when I show them one of your videos in English (maybe this groovy one). And then I will remind them that anyone can learn a new language! :) Thanks for sharing your musical magic with the world (from a fellow musician).
I just found Pomplamoose recently and I think I'm in love. I was a big fan of the Cocteau Twins and Stereolab and there's a lot of their vibe in your music. Thanks for the great sounds!
I just listened to a few tracks, and I'm hooked strait away. The Band plays so nice tight, sound is perfectly engineerd. Voice is just perfect. I'M FAN. Best shit I've heard in Years.
Sorry lepi ,Ive seen most of your songs an your pretty good, and the band of coarse .thanks for the insite of the complexities involved in the song.lots of love an wish you the best.
You know how sometimes when you’re having a great time you look really angry?
Nope. You simply look like you're enjoying yourself.
I agree with Simon. I'd say it looks like you're just focusing on the music.
Like jack in his natural habitat ?
As opposed to looking happy, but filled with rage, which is just working in retail.
Soooo Jack like half of the time? 😂 We may have seen that once or twice? ❤
I love how you managed to keep this true to the original, but simultaneously new and fresh. So sweet!
Thanks Stephanie, that means a lot!
@@Pomplamoose ah you're so welcome!
that's it !
It sounds almost like the original at the start, but it's still a memorable, distinct, stand-on-its-own cover.
😍😍😍😍

Tout à fait d'accord avec toi............
I just love watching Hagar play on this track. She's clearly enjoying the song. And she plays so effortlessly and so into the groove, it makes the whole performance better.
Nataly's little giggle when she says "kid" at 1:33 is so perfect.
The arrangement. The slow build. The harmonies. The backing vocal runs toward the end. The guitar part. The bassists fingernails. 😍

Pomplamousse are The Band Of The Internet. If they covered 'Africa' by Toto, they'd break the internet.
Damn, the pianist is always so freaking happy to be playing, in every single video
That's the joy of making music
And he is the CEO of Patreon
There are exactly two musicians/ bands that master the magic of this song: Pomplamoose and Sir Elton himself!
My 8 yr old charged on the room and declared “ FINALLY! A girl version of this song.” Her new favorite. You made her universe. Thank you ☺️
You should encourage your daughter to create new things instead of relying on men to create it first :)
@@ThomasSawyers How about you let her do her job as a mom.

@@ThomasSawyers weird comment
I enjoy the expression on the faces of musicians who know it's all coming together - another great set guys.
This piano-guy is really the best. The songs are great, but even feel better when you see this guy totally loving what he's doing :D
He is like Elton John)
0:25 those eyes are looking through my soul

Jack and Nataly are probably two of the most talented musicians out there...how are they not bigger than they are....her voice is magical

Perfect demonstration and execution of a straight forward pushing quarter note bass line...
Обожаю этих ребят! И песни отличная!
your vocal doubling is so scary smooth

A narcissist is trying to find a way back in my life. It's bringing back a lot of trauma. Listening to this song is giving me huge relief!!!

Beautiful cover as always!!
We're still standing through COVID-19, self-isolation and tough times. Thanks guys for helping to make things a bit more bearable with art like this
There you go David. That's the comment. Good one 💪💪

Why are you guys not top 5, we love your singing, from New Zealand. You have a voice that can sing all genre's. Amazing
How did you guys make this sound more joyful? Awesome as always
Oh man, what a great sound you guys make.
I knew the bassist looked familiar, it's Hagar from The Late Late Show with James Corden!
Dont let Christoph Waltz know
yep, immediately recognized her as well :D
Heck yea! Hagar Ben Ari is freaking great. I think she played with Alanis Morisette as well
OMG Thank you!!!
I'm a little gutted that the bass isn't faithful to the orginal.
Dancing in my room all the way in Egypt, love y'all ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Look how far you have grown.. *shed a single tear*
Natalie and the drummer are giving me peak 70s aesthetics. I'm here for it.
When you've been riding the subway for 47 stops and still haven't got a seat.
Lol that was funny
I’m still “STANDING” the stranger who hasn’t gotten a seat at a subway
nice one :)👍
Winner 🎉

Hi... I love you guys. I love what you do to the mix the vocals and the production.
One of the best - if not the best - cover I've seen so far and I'm hammering the song lately. Great one!
Knew this was gonna be good before I even heard it

The singing is great, different, original. The last part of the song where She's belting out the word...magic!
