Anybody still watching this in 2024
After all this time? Always
I looked at the clip of the Pomplamus and decided to see where the legs grow from.
for all time
Weekly
Nope
Elton John, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, and Phil Collins. Now THAT'S what it looks like to see some of the best talent in the biz on one stage.
Mark definitely
Wowwww, I missed that
Mark King!
And hard work
@Жена зашквара You can literally see him on stage at 2:02 on the far left of the video, and multiple other times throughout the whole thing.
This is probably one the best live versions I’ve heard
true Russian You are right! 👍
In my opinion it is the best
Fantastic version!
It is bro. It is indeed 🤘🏻🤘🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Indeed
His piano skills are so insane.
His whole performance here is mind blowing. Behind all the tabloid stuff is a genius performer
Agreed.
Durian I’ve always had this thought that Elton John is Mozart reincarnated.
My Elton is the best piano player ever! I'm still standing he's my darling!
I have played the piano for about ten years now and even at my skill level his playing surprises me at times,he is an amazing singer and pianist
This was such a dark time for him and the way for him to still perform on that level is nothing short of phenomenal.
He was still standing though!
What was he going through during that time? Thanks.
Plafintarr This was a time where he was really going through the ringer on his cocaine addiction and his voice was beginning to fail him which is why he eventually had to go through surgery on his throat
It’s called being a pro which is why he still sells out 15000 arenas.
G T S Amen
Phil Collins on the drums , and eric Clapton on guitar !
And Mark King from Level 42 nailing that bass line.
Don't forget Mark Knopfler
Keith Richards of the rolling stones :)
@@hacker1712HD was that Howard Jones on keyboards as well?
@@devonhughes3805 Yep, he was in the band for the first (half?) of the 1988 concerts too
This is the NBA ALL Stars of music singing and playing music together.
I am listening to this in2024! I am still standing after much sadness in my life
"Picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind." God DAMN Bernie and Elton knew how to write their souls into songs.
If I had a time machine I would just travel to all these classic concerts like this
Look in the crowd. Maybe you can spot good old you.
@@peterghoulferatu3555 Don't be playing with fire now ya hear
Me anoto !!
First stop: July 13, 1986, Wembley Stadium
@@jaydenwilliams9637 It was in the Arena.
Our first born Great Child's favorite song. ❤
Elton John [sitting down]: I'm still standing
genius
Classic
This song absolutely defines him.
"I'm still standing after all this time" what a living legend he is.

@@adityagandhi5040 how sweet of you🤭🫶
Even better than the studio version in my eyes. So powerful and fresh
Agreed
No phones anywhere. A time, where you just lived in the moment.
If you are a struggling musician, this is the most healing thing
Yup. Im still recovering from a work injury. And i know for a fact im coming back stronger on drums
@@andradejose2460 the calm before the storm.. hit it!
Amen
Yup😭
If you're just struggling I'm general.
Eric Clapton never overshadows any legends he plays with, he's such a legend in his own right.
This is the type of 2021 energy we need
You are right! I have to wonder if this kind of magic hasn't left us. I don't care what anyone says things were good back then.
@@covertyankee It hasn't left us, it is just subdued a little. The magic is still around. I am a street performer and I witness and enjoy regularly...literally did just tonight Aug 14 2021.
Was just being casual and still drew a crowd and earned a few bucks. My duo partner does Daniel and I do Rocket Man. - Cheers
This type of energy that we always need, 2021,22,23 etc
@@arevnazore9964 True, it's 2023 and I can confirm!
"I'm still Standing, Looking like a True Survivor, Feeling like a little kid" I felt that sh't 🥺
Iconic moment
Fun Fact:
if you play this version on drums, your day will be happy and full of hope
Thank God for UA-cam so that these clips are all so freely available for us to enjoy, whenever, and how often we want.
Probably his BEST live manifestation of one of his greatest songs, full of life power and joy
I agree! :)
The 80’s were such happier times in every respect. I wish I can go back
Can we also give some props to the backup singers?! I love hearing them all the way through the song. What an incredible performance from everyone on stage! I can't stop watching it. I wish I could go back in time and be in this audience. I have a feeling, however, that I may not have known what an iconic performance this was at the time.
Oh yes the backup singers just incredible!
Vicky and Sam Brown and Jimmy Helms with Jimmy Chambers and George Chandler who would later form the band Londonbeat and they also did the backings for Paul Young back in the day..Live Aid for instance
@@hansbollaart7256 That is super cool!
They were fantastic. I loved when the camera showed their joyous energy!
Who are the backup singers?I should know who the two women are but do not.
Performance incroyable ❤ toute un musicien 🎉
This is my favorite version of all time of this song, just hearing Elton on the piano first thing drives me absolutely fucking bonkers in the most positive way. This whole performance is incredible, but Elton's piano intro gets me playing air piano like a mad man every time lol
Fest & Flauschig Team unite!🔥❤️
Ja, war ein guter Tipp!
3:07 Did Clapton actually smile? Holy shit.
2024 and this fantastic . im never disappointed. Elton is the BEST ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Holy shit the little note changes he makes are perfect and on point!!
This is the best performance of this song ever. The energy is amazing, gives me chills.
bro imagine being in the crowd holy shit
Legendary song, artists and performance
Mark King (Level 42) on bass and Howard Jones on keyboard. Insane.
Amazing, and with Phil Collins on drums…phenomenal!
Yeah, he was playing with Genesis, solo, Elton, & with Robert Plant.
Best live version of this song, epic!
Classic is IMMORTAL!!!
Omgggg, check out how Sir Elton jumps back on that piano without missing a beat

This is the best version of im still standing he ever made
Elton John coquette ❤
No one does it like Elton
36 years ago this took place...and yes Elton is still standing...yeah yeah yeah...
the movie is so accurate with his performances... this dude still fckn rocks with 70+ years old... just now looked more into older live performances and its fricking crazy
He's 73, 74 in March & still rockin'.
74 years old and he's just had the number 1 song in the country again! Elton is immortal.
High AF❤

2024 and i love that attitude on his face while im enjoying him on this video.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Elton John : still standing
Eric Clapton : still standing
Mark Knopfler : still standing
Phil Collins : still standing
Umbelievable
Phil Collins: not really
And what about Midge Ure ??
@@hectorbarrera1732 Midge Ure is there?
Vive l'OM! lmao, and yeah I'm agree
David Dolinský at least he is still sitting
Out of all of the live versions I've seen of him performing this song, this is by far the best performance I've seen.
You are totally right and I totally agree
He plays that piano like Ray Charles ! Legendary
it's not fair... Britains got all the gifted musicians... leave us something guys...
Elton John, Phil Collins, Mark Knopfler and Eric Clapton Still Standing in 2022, amazing. Legends.
The way his hands move... it's so beautiful!!
SIR ELTON JOHN
Clapton 😇
This is the song you want to hear when someone breaks your heart
We still standing baby!!!!!!! 🙏💪💪💪
you have to love Elton
wow on of the gratest ever for sure!
The energy is just insane! Totally rocking out, and Elton is playing the living s**t out of that piano, with pitch-perfect vocals...
Making history, in the most f...ing fun way possible.
HE IS A GENIUS
@Sam Fischer I was talking about Elton John, he is the genius, the legend,a gift to this world, too bad his parents did not understand what privilege God gave them to generate such an artist
Damn he murdered this
What a line up ...
This man was the soundtrack of my childhood then. My parents played his music a lot. Now, I still listen to his music in my 50s📻🫶
Mark King of Level42 on bass!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Das Lied kam 1981 heraus und ich war ziemlich sauer auf Elton John, weil ich es so verstanden habe, daß er noch da ist und John Lennon nicht mehr. 😢
That is a symphony orchestra.
Why can't we make great music like this still?!?!
Just make a good search
There's still great music being made.
Because people is getting dumb...
New generation is destroying everything
@@apolloniusbeitsman5444 yeah but it’s not the mainstream like good music used to be
We can ... it's just that today's musicians and songwriters are too lazy and too willing to settle for simple and mediocre. They're following the Jewel Kilcher principle!
The energy Elton puts out there is spine tingling.
The best of Briton
What a show...
By far one of the best songs ever made in the history of music.🔥💯
If ever.....ever I get to a live concert again in this pandemic life.....let it be this man, this song. I miss everything.
Just came to confirm that Dill Dandon was around in the 80's and it seems that Dill Dandon truly stood through the ages of modern music.
Elton John the best ❤
Take your seat, I know this isn't the first time you are here. Welcome back and enjoy 😉
Even in the midst of his struggle, Elton was Still Standing and delivered. Now he has been sober for over three decades and is Still Standing like a True Survivor, feeling like a little kid. Well done, Elton. Keep Standing. Your fans will always have your back.
Phil Mfn Collins. Pop superstar moon lighting as the top session/ live drummer of the 80s.
It's insane how prolific he was
And I'm still standing!
Wow! One of his best performances of this song. If i could travel back in time anywhere, it would be this concert!
❤
He is definitely not sweating from lip synching. I respect singers who charge money and actually sing.
Elton has NEVER lip-synced at his concerts.
Still watching👍❤️❤️
In my opinion Elton John best song
This sounds really far from the original but somehow sounds a ton better
Freddie mercury said that if you want to listen to the original stay home and listen to the CD. The show is going to difference because listening to the same record gets boring
Keep in mind this was recorded before the age of auto-tune.
I'm still standing, 💪
@@munoz_element9344 Queen's live performances generally sound better than the studio version, they're less perfect, which somehow make it sound better. Same with Elton John
I'm still standing on steroids
That was a fun night in Wembley Arena, when I was 23.
I’m a Metal head all the way but this is Truly Awesome.
Charles and Diana were in the audience for this concert. She was rocking out...in a tuxedo!
the way he modifies the song into what he feels, is just amazing. The way he sings "of my life" to that high tone works wonders
How he just hops back on the piano and goes to town is so cool 😎
Johnny = SING!
Mark King of level 42 on bass!
It's probably one of the best gigs ever - Elton raw and top, star studded ensamble and background choir is a class of its own....
schöne Grüße von Fest & Flauschig!
Happy Birthday Eric Clapton!
perfect
What a song, what a singer, what a performance !
This is one of the best versions I’ve seen of this song. Elton sure knows how to put on a show.
IM STILL STANDINGGGGGGGG🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
