    Thank you so much for showing the entire removal and installation process. There are so many videos that only show you the finished process and not the removal which is the most important part. And although I have a Xf V8 non supercharger engine this was very helpful.

      I would say the best way to do that is by removing lower radiator hose. Take very easy it’s gonna be a mess.

      They have a bad design on those coolant pipes. The way it was molded together isn’t good. The right way is to replace all of them with the newer one piece design to avoid those leaks.

    The water pump gasket is linking on my 2017 F Pace 35t, that I purchased new,, after 72K miles. I do not have the time or interest in dong an R&R on the entire front of the engine. The dealer called me this morning with their estimate, $3800.00! WTF!
    This is by far the best, most enjoyable vehicles/crossover I have ever owned, I LOVE DRIVING IT! HOWEVER, I will be trading out of it within the next couple of months. I'll miss it but $3800 for a $100.00 pump? GTFOOH.

      @@a2zautomasters862 Good morning.
      After nearly a week in my local JAG dealers shop, I have my car back. All of this was because the $12.80 water pump gasket failed along with the outlet pipes under the supercharge and rear crossover pipe.
      The original "pipes" are seamed together and have a history of failing so Jag has re-tooled all of them so that they are now solid piece sections. All of the pipes did not fail , nor did the pump. HOWEVER, the new service SOP requires ALL OF THEM TO BE REPLACED at the owners expense.
      I am contacting JAG next week to complain and push for a portion of of the $1182.00 in parts to be refunded.
      BTW, thanks for the offer but I am in Metro Detroit.

    @A2Z I was able to get the small connector /hose off the front of the old waterpump, but it doesn't seem to want to lock into the new pump. Is there something I have to do to lock the plastic pipe into the front of the waterpump? As of now I can just pull it right out.

    • @a2zautomasters862
      @a2zautomasters862  2 роки тому +2

      The locking mechanism are in the pump. If it doesn’t lock it’s either the connector is worn out and the diameter is not the same or the locking mechanism is damaged. If it comes out by hand, it will come off with coolant pressure.

      Not necessarily. Year, mileage and how the vehicle is being used all contribute to the wear down of parts. If the job is done right with all gaskets and pipes, the car should be good for a while.

      Outside of that, my only real gripe is that the car has way too much plastic in the interior for the price and prestige that the Jaguar name/brand is known for, and that the Meridian Surround system is very lackluster.

    Quick question to anyone who may know. I have an XJ 2016 that's in the shop because of a coolant leak. They tech said it's the water pump, so he replaced it but it's still leaks. He thought it was the O-Ring but replaced both pump and O-ring when he noticed that the plastic tab on the engine oil cooler was broken according to him. He can't find the part number anywhere it's literally just a piece of plastic behind the O-ring on the engine oil cooler piping. He said if he can't find the tab the only way to fix this is to get a whole new engine oil cooler ONLY to remove the plastic piece and if that doesn't fit then he'll have to replace the the engine oil cooler which is a $2k+ job. Can anyone please lead me in the right direction. I'm on a budget and 2k would break my bank. Please and thanks 🙏.

I honestly didn't think they'd assist me since I'm having someone closer work on the car (nearest dealership is 5 hours away). The mechanic that's working on the car said the the plastic tab on the engine oil cooler provides some type of support for the piping that the O-ring is on, causing the Oring and water pump not to seal. Does that sound plausible? Thanks a bunch in advance!
