Final Fantasy 16 is what i really miss from final fantasy series after the FF15. Its not perfect but i can say this is Final Fantasy. Even FF10 still my best, but i think FF16 gonna be a good basic for the next series. The cinematic battle, graphic, music, and Voice Over absolutely amazing. Main story i can give 8/10.
I hope you are wrong, personally. I thought FF16 was a significant step back overall. I agree that he cinematic dominant battles, the stunning graphics and more realistic voice overs can stay, but almost everything else needs to change. I commented this elsewhere but they gutted out a lot of the RPG mechanics that were beloved in the series such as elemental AOE, meangful upgrades and purchases. GoW and HZD have better RPG systems. It has a fun battle system that is far too easy to button mash and doesn’t encourage experimentation with it. A world that doesn’t encourage meaningful exploration for hidden secrets and bosses. Poor pacing and some of the most inane side quests for padding . A plot that started well and fell off near the end. I can say this isn’t final fantasy for me although I accept for the majority it is, and all you need now is the name, a few character names and characters, FF7 remake and now Rebirth have flaws too, but they have more that is a strong base for FF17. A fun battle system that most loved that has the shift to action for new fans but retains the fan favourite turn based elements from previous games. It has a much more vibrant world than ff16 and is a joy to look at. Meaningful exploration. Armour, weapons purchases with meaningful upgrades that have various and interesting elemental affects. Exploration of an open world with hidden secrets. Hopefully the side quests as better as they were also somewhat poor in the remake. I would give FF16 a 7/10. I think rebirth is going to receive a much stronger reception and shows what old fans and new want from the series.
I’m still playing Returnal and stuck on the 5th biome. It’s hell (over & over again) but I go back again and again. Reminds me of the hook from that old Korn song Helmet in the Bush- “Want to give it up….But I can’t escape”
I didn't get to Remnant 2, Jedi 2, AC6, Octopath 2, and MK1. With so many games coming early 2024, it seem like I might never be able to make time for them as I'm more excited for the next few PS5 games.
I totally feel you, Jedi 2 was amazing and top 5 for me. I haven't gotten around to AC6 and Octopath Traveler 2 yet but I do have them installed. What has definitely helped me in 2023 is setting my pride aside man and just putting difficulty on easy specifically on most lengthy RPG games that would require some grinding. I get the benefits of enjoying the story thru and move on to the next game to knock out in my massive backlog from 2023, 2022. Just finished Yakuza 6 2 days ago and finally started Yakuza 7 Like a Dragon.
I can say this isn’t final fantasy for me although I accept for the majority it is, and all you need now is the name, a few character names and characters,
FF7 remake and now Rebirth have flaws too, but they have more that is a strong base for FF17.
I thought this would be a list of top 10 ps5 exclusives but then I remembered that the ps5 doesn't even have 10 exclusives lmao.
I’m still playing Returnal and stuck on the 5th biome. It’s hell (over & over again) but I go back again and again. Reminds me of the hook from that old Korn song Helmet in the Bush- “Want to give it up….But I can’t escape”
Spiderman 2 was the 1st game I got for the ps5 because of the bundle. I didn't buy another game until I platinum that game
Already have Like a Dragon Gaiden The Man Who Erased his Name thanks to a digital psn sale in my library to play as soon as i finish Yakuza 7. Im so ready to play Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, but not until I finish the prior 2 entires. LOL
I'm playing the psvr2 version of RE 4 right now and holy cow
*I'll do 1 pushup for every like this comment gets* 😙🤣
Get to it
Gotta post a vid of it too
If you didn’t do it delete your account and lament in the fact you’re a lying failure
Do it
Video or it don’t happen. I’m not saying you’re chicken sh*t I’m just stating the rules bro
What a year for games 2023 was. We got the legendary, the good, the bad, and the ugly. FF16 was my GOTY.
I'm probably the only person who is still playin and enjoyin playin Forspoken. Combat is fun tons of spells and great ways of moving around the map. Also REALLY liked Robocop.
I'm still waiting for Sony to put Forspoken in any ps plus catalog. I really enjoyed the demo, especially combat and traversal, back then before launch, but the negative criticism made me not buy it on release and wait for it.
@@Twzzy I can respect that view. The demo sold me on it but I kno Gamestop has it at like $17.50 b4 tax cuz it's a 75% off game. If u ever do play it I hope u enjoy it. I'm like 45 hrs n and haven't even beat it yet. It's just fun 2 jet back and forth and upgrade the different spells. Like combat trials u have 2 work 4.
@@1pikapein I will definitely play it sooner or later, probably not for the story, but for the magic.
From what I've seen, they still nailed that part of the game and it's a little bit sad people completely dumped on this game because of the negative aspects without appreciating the positives.
Thanks for your wishes and I do hope you'll have even more joy with this game than you already do now 👍🏼
Cyberpunk 2077 deserves being here, not released on 2023 but it feels like it was finished in 2023, amazing expansion and gameplay is now smooth and beautiful
Special mention to Robocop Rogue City. It's super fun.
Kind of hilarious that you complied a list of the most successful games of 2023 and then framed it as if they flew under the radar that most people missed out on
It would be Alan Wake 2 for me! I just couldn’t stop playing!
👍🏼
Perfect timing! I just got a PS5 yesterday lol
When i hear Jake voice in top ps5 games i know that spider-man will be number 1
I don’t like turn based combat but I have thoroughly enjoyed the game
If Alan wake 2 ever gets a physical I will play it
Don’t hold your breath while waiting.
Ryuga gotoku 7 Gaiden was also very, very good.
IKR. Super fun game but very underated
FFXVI is Definitely my 2023 Favorite and i can't wait for more Eikonic fights
👍🏼👌
Curious what happened to number 5, Harry Potter. That entry is way shorter and has poor audio quality. Was a game cut from this list last minute?
I know it’s cross formats
But robocop rouge city is fantastic for fans of the movies loved it on ps5
2023 was so disappointing that FC 24 was actually my favorite game of the year!
Terminator, Robocop, etc... There are tons of good games on the PS5. People just don't look outside outside of aaa and it's a shame. They are missing out.
nice list.. I wonder how you guys play this much games in your busy lives
How did Spider Man 2 not "out omg" this man? It was so much better than the first one in every way possible.
I played Sea of Stars and really enjoyed it. I think I 100% because I really liked the world.
Good list, I especially agree on Star Wars, Hogwarts Legacy and Spider-Man. I would put Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut in here too.
BG3 is the best game of 2023 for me but there were so many great games this year
Manage to catch up on RE4 remake, Hogwarts Legacy and FF16 recently. Ended up enjoying RE4 more than the others. Had high hopes for FF16 being a massive fan of the series and also adore Dmc but FF16 didn't feel like either it felt more like Asura's Wrath which isn't a bad game just idk mixed feelings. Lies of P is the last game from 2023 I need to play
Agree on the Asura's Wrath for FFXVI, at some point it became just tedious and not fun anymore for me.
I played the demo for FF16 and was blown away. The beginning was amazing. So I bought the game but I'm finding it to be kind of underwhelming to be honest. I still have to finish the final 10% or so of it. Am I the only one that finds it kind of boring?
For me was ff16 150 hours and still have to do the exspansion they released 😂 and been trying to do Hogwarts monster Hunter Baldur gate 3 slowly but surely backlog a mile long 😂
Ff16 was amazing to 100%. And yes, I have every item +1 upgraded. Can't wait for the leviathan DLC
The only game from the main list I've played was Baldur's Gate 3, and I stopped after about 6 hours because I wasn't enjoying it. None of the others interests me so I'll be passing up on those. With regards to the bonus list, I do have Octopath Traveler II, but just haven't gotten around to playing it yet, and I'll probably pick up Sea of Stars once it gets a physical release.
BG3 is overrated
@@clivematthews95 I can't say whether it is overrated or not. I can see the quality in it, but it just wasn't for me and I wasn't having fun playing it.
@@saviordream I totally respect that, don’t pay attention to my other comment, I just don’t find the game attractive to me either
It’s not a bad game
I didn't care for BG3 either. Armored Core 6 was my game of the year forsure.
Spiderman 2 probably didn’t deserve 1. But to be fair I didn’t play much of it. It’s a super fun game. There was just so much to play this year, it didn’t make the cut for me. While Baldurs gate ate up 100’s of hours.
Still waiting for Alan Wake 2 to exist so I can actually buy it.
👍🏼
I’ll buy a game six months later when it’s actually ready
?
Hogwarts Legacy was my goty. I loved every bit of it. It was so so much fun. And the soundtrack was sensational. Shame it did not get any awards at the game awards. A real shame.
Jedi survivor was my goty and it's sad they didn't give it a few extra months because so many passed on it due to performance issues but the game itself is excellent... and personally I'd say it's better than fallen order in every way
Bring on Spider-Man 3
But...right off the bat the games are for all consoles. Why can't we do a list of exclusives? Makes much more sense
Thanks for your suggestion
@NukeSonys If Sony is dead...Microsoft is a fossil
Hogwarts legacy deserves more recognition..
Finally just baught it thankfully
Good to hear. Just bought it. Hopefully will be able to find time to play it.
I disagree. I think that game was overhyped. Like in terms of RPG’s it was very shallow, but a great first attempt for a company.
It got loads what are you on about????
Why? Its repetitive and bland
