    We are going there later this month and I was looking for info about the park and surrounding area. Thanks for the look around. We've camped with dogs a few times and I've just got to tell you that the line system you're standing by at the end of the video was hands down the best way we found to keep our pups secured in the campsite :)

      Have a great trip, Amy! Yep, that tether line works great, although lately we've moved to a fence enclosure for when we're in campgrounds. While boondocking, we typically let Zoe run free.

      We would've thought so, too. Perhaps COVID-19 made it easier to get one? At the time that we reserved a few days in advance there were two water/electric sites left, the rest of the park was booked.

    Hi Marc, finally catching up on your Arizona series episodes. Surprised all these campgrounds were open during April. Our campgrounds in CO have been shutdown since mid march. They are finally opening up this week, and with memorial day reservations, I'm getting excited. I haven't made it to episode 150 yet, looks like your in AZ still.

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  4 роки тому +1

      Glad to have you back, Eric! We're not still in Arizona, but our videos are. Due to video editing and lead times our social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are much closer to real-time than our videos, and are sometimes instant. As far as I know most if not all state parks never closed in Arizona, I know that Lost Dutchman never did to campers and the rules posted right now are the same that were in effect during our visit.

    • @GrandAdventure

      One of our viewers attending this week's Premiere did so from this very campground. For better or worse, Lost Dutchman is hardly needing any further exploration; it's one of the most popular state parks in Arizona and one of the most difficult to get a campsite in.

    Another Great video Marc. You have inspired me to relook my travel plans to Arizona vs heading north to Oregon after restrictions cool down. • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  4 роки тому +2

      Thank you Mike! Many shops are indeed closed on our swing through Arizona right now, whereas virtually all restaurants have been open for takeout. As for Oregon vs. Arizona, we love both but to compare the two would be unfair, it's apples vs. oranges. For us the decision would hinge upon the time of year. If it's in the March/April time frame, or late September/October, we'd take advantage of that timing and hit up Arizona. However, if it's between those two periods in the heat of the summer, we'd definitely opt for Oregon. Just our $0.02.

    Longtime viewer. Much needed and much appreciated diversion from 14-hour nights as a hospital RN! You've inspired me to actually go several places, Silverton, CO. for instance. Question: Our trucks are about the same physical size, mine a 2500HD 4x4 is slightly taller and maybe wider; ground clearance would be higher, but for its 4:10 axles and the pumkin is large, so I don't want to do rocks. But do you think I should try any of the easiest trails out of Silverton?

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  4 роки тому +1

      First off Monty, thanks for the long hours and difficult conditions that you and your colleagues are dealing with right now. We all appreciate everything that you're doing. As for Silverton, you probably could do the easier ones. The areas of concern are wheelbase length (tight turns), and your angles -- approach, departure and breakover. I'd grab a good hardcopy trail directory or consult with one of the outfitters in town. Realize, too, that there a number of outfitters in town that rent jeeps, and the prices didn't seem bad to us (~$160/day).

      The campground is open now as well, Robert. As far as we know it never closed. Verizon signal was solid but occasionally slower than we would have preferred.

      Paul, it's a first-gen DJI Mavic Pro. We share a bit more about it here: ua-cam.com/video/uT7NTiopOww/v-deo.html

    Do the RV sites have sewer dump?

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  5 місяців тому

      No. The campground has 135 sites and three group camping areas: 68 sites with electric (50/30/20 amp service) and water and the remainder non-hookup sites on paved roads for tents or RVs. Every site has a picnic table and a fire pit with an adjustable grill gate. There are no size restrictions on RVs.

    Do you know if you can use the national parks pass at these campsites?

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  Рік тому

      No you can't, Bob, because it's an Arizona State Park rather than a federal property.
