Jocelyn....As always I love your videos! I found that a tiny bit of gs hypo cement or leather cement secures the cording to itself in the first version and a tiny bit will secure the cording to the wire in the 2nd version making it tons easier for me to start wrapping. Just wanted to share for those of us elders whose fingers are not as dexterous as you younger folks😉🤗 I mainly use leather cording but I found it works with other cords as well😍
It's been so many years since I worked with leather cording that I had forgotten how to do it. Your tutorial was perfect! You are an excellent teacher. Thanks again for your instructions.
LOVE the 2nd one!!!!!! I want to make my jewelry strong and secure, to last as long as possible. Thank you for showing me how to make items of beauty AND quality.
YOU ARE THE BEST. These are the simplest, easiest, & best ways to finish a cord I've seen. About the "friction point" on the first method - if the necklace isn't heavy, I doubt it will be a problem, altho u r right to point it out.
@@FantasiaElegance My pleasure - you've saved me lots of grief with this tut. BTW on another video you said you wondered whether subscribers were getting notifications. They won't, if they don't click on the little bell next to the subscribe button. I just discovered this.
Thankyou. Exactly the video I needed to finish a cord necklace for my daughter. I love both ways, but I'm going to use the second one. It looks classier to me. Please keep making more jewelry tutorials. I'm really using every lesson. Thankyou again..
I like the 2nd one and that it sounds like it would extend the life of the cord. Love your work and videos they are informative and easy to follow thanks for your wisdom
Jocelyn, thank you for another great tutorial. My cording ends always looked untidy as I would form a cool of wire, thread it over the cord end and then crimp. Now after trying your method they are uniform, tidy and secure! Fab!
That is a wonderful idea. Especially if you have no fancy stuff to put on the ends of cords. Ty for the tips.. I need super glue on my list.🙂 I think I like the second one best.
You do exceptional work. You are very aware of what you are doing, why you are doing each step, and carefully explain to us what and why it is that is happening. Thank you.
I really liked both. You make it look so easy! Love watching your videos because you are so skilled and patient when creating, which to me, is inspiring. Thanks for sharing!
Hello there from the UK, I've just come across your channel and you are so easy to listen to. Your methods for teaching are so easy to understand and as I'm a complete beginner, this is perfect for me. Looking through your videos with ease and this is so therapeutic. Thank you 🙂
@@FantasiaElegance Ah, you're welcome, we need more people like yourself. I'm going to try one of your tutorials as I've bought a few findings, not sure if any of it is suitable haha, ie bead hole size, wire size, but I'm sure I have a match here. I love the petal bead, with the three petals both ends of the bead, that is so pretty. 👍
I too liked them both. The first one looks the easiest so I'm going to try it first. I do make the second one but learned to start the first wrap without holding the cord which was always difficult and sometimes caused me to scrap it and start again. You always make everything seem so easy....and usually it is easy the way you do it.
I love your tutorial very well explained. The finish look very neat and professional. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge about the subject. God bless you
You're one of the most gifted instructors I've seen on UA-cam. I do have a question: could something like a crimp bead cover be put over the first necklace loop to make it more secure and less fray-able?
I just want to say thank you you've inspired me to create and have been very helpful and explaining I just wish I could make it look as easy as you do 😉
Thank you for the tutorial, I have some leather coming tomorrow, just in time. Now I know how to finish it. I like the wrapped loop the best, I'm not a fan of jump rings.
Love your tutorials ~ your explanation and attention to detail really has helped me. Also I prefer your tutorials because there is no background music or showing of false manicured long fingernails that is so distracting lol. Thanks very much!
Thanks, Bianka! I think it should, as the wraps are very secure. You could use a larger diameter cord and 18 gauge wire instead if you're nervous! I think what will be more important is the kind of clasp you use.
look make it look so easy. I will use your method. The crimps are too difficult to do for me. I don't know if I am using the wrong tool or what. But can't get them flat and even.
Hello beautiful..thank you for sharing these very essential ideas., as usual they are very nice. I followed the link for the wax cord but it was 1.5 mm, is that what that was that you used or 2mm ? Stay safe and well.
Thanks, Erich! Here's one video on clasps: ua-cam.com/video/sGMDBfAqlBY/v-deo.html You can also see them by the popup during the video, or by going to my channel.
Ok have just tried the second one (wire loop) on an 8 strand kumihimo cord, and while it probably would have worked better if I had access to super glue, and not just spray adhesive, it does work for kumihimo. Will be using the other method on the other end of this cord and possibly both ends of the next one (although I may redo this end with super glue closer to finishing the project)
Very informative tutorial, thanks. Just wonderful that you don't have any distracting background music that's louder than your audio!
God yes...
You make the most beautiful professional coils!
I love both ideas and am already using them ,but this tutorial shows the proper and easier way to do it, thanks for sharing.
I like both of them. I like every thing you show us how to make. Your company name is spot on for you.

tHANKS so much for the good tutorial. Simple and well-displayed! I like the version that has the metal loop on the end. Thanks again.

Aw, thanks so much, Diana!! Yes, I haven't had any issues with it, but it's always best to err on the side of caution.

Also love the 2nd one because of its appearance and endurance. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Tracy! You're most welcome :)
I like the all metal loop - looks more finished and higher end. Very good tutorial, thank you.
Thanks, Rayne!! I think I prefer that style, too :)

Thanks a lot for your Master class! 👍😆
Haha, I don't know if I'm there yet, but I appreciate it!
They both look a lot better then the little nooses I was making a few years ago.
You made me laugh! Not an expected comment. But wonderful!! 😀
Haha!! Well there are actually ways of knotting the cord that make for an adjustable sliding knot, so "nooses" aren't necessarily a bad thing ;)

Thanks, Pam!!

Thanks, Asha! You too!
Thank you for this video
Thanks for sharing
Very nice and very helpful. Someone posted your link in polymer clay fb group. Yaaay...I will be subscribing to your channel!
I like using wire guards
thanks for this video ....it will help a lot ..
I would use either one - it depends on the necklace. The superglue on the ends = genius!
I agree; it's nice to have multiple finishing options! And thanks ^_^
Fantastic ! 👏👏Thank you. 🥰️That seems reasonably easy to attain. 😊👍😘❤️️🙏 Namaste
Aw, thanks so much! I hope you find it helpful in your jewelry endeavors
I was just thinking about this!
That's too funny! Glad it was timely for you ;)

You're most welcome! So glad it was a timely tutorial for you :)
I need to start using that term more often... "Smoosh" 😁
Haha, it's a great word! ;)
I don’t understand how to make wraps around the cord tight without flattening the loops.
Love your tutorials ~ your explanation and attention to detail really has helped me. Also I prefer your tutorials because there is no background music or showing of false manicured long fingernails that is so distracting lol. Thanks very much!
Thank you, Sheri!! The awesome feedback really made my day. Take care and happy crafting
Me suscribo, gracias! 🥰
Thank you
Great video ireland loves u x
Ditto. 2nd one. ❤️🤗🥰
Thanks, Maya!!
Hy thank you so much this is super good! Thank you. Would this work for necklaces that are heavy? Like around 700g?
Thanks, Bianka! I think it should, as the wraps are very secure. You could use a larger diameter cord and 18 gauge wire instead if you're nervous! I think what will be more important is the kind of clasp you use.
Is there a reason I couldn't hook a clasp directly to the loop?
BOOM! 💥
"so you want some nice sharp scissors for this"
*pulls out 2 knives screwed together for a diy project* 4:11
Спасибо!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What kind of blue handle pliers are you using at 2.25?
Which one do you prefer?
I think I prefer the look of the 2nd style better, even though it's a bit more fussy to make!
look make it look so easy. I will use your method. The crimps are too difficult to do for me. I don't know if I am using the wrong tool or what. But can't get them flat and even.
Thanks, Dianna! Maybe your pliers aren't quite strong enough, or your wire is too tough?
Hello beautiful..thank you for sharing these very essential ideas., as usual they are very nice. I followed the link for the wax cord but it was 1.5 mm, is that what that was that you used or 2mm ? Stay safe and well.
Thanks, Deby! I double checked and I did use the 1.5mm in this video. I do also use 2mm for heavier/larger pendants, though :)
@@FantasiaElegance Thank you Joselyn, I am going to order now. I can't wait to make these. I really like the second one. Your a doll.
Link to video about clasp please. Great info. Thanks.
Can you make video showing how to attach the hook to it?
Thanks, Erich! Here's one video on clasps: ua-cam.com/video/sGMDBfAqlBY/v-deo.html You can also see them by the popup during the video, or by going to my channel.
How thick is the wire you use?
My coils are never nice and round- how do I smoosh the wire down but keep it a circle??
How long does this cord last if I were to just use it alone?
I'm afraid I'm really not sure, as I've never done that before. It is a pretty sturdy cording, but it would also depend on how much you wore it.
Would this work with kumihimo cord?
I don't see why not, though I haven't personally tried it :)
I LUV UR TUTORIALS MY HUSBAND & I CAN'T FIND THE WIRE ON THE INTERNET CAN U PLEASE PUT IT N THE TUTORIAL PLEASE

Your background matches too closely the wire so we can't really see what you're doing.
Thanks for the feedback!
