We need a story time video on the cattiness in the company!
I seriously wish someone made a movie about your life and these experiences. I would watch it over and over! This is such a great series and I love how you tell the stories!
Oh please tell the soloist one! I love this series so much already! xxx
Thank you Sarah!
I just keep imagining Peter, Sean, the Tylers etc watching Katie's videos
Your telling of this story is delightful! I can imagine your surprise and joy!
Awww thank you Erica! It was truly amazing
I'm so happy for you.
"he knows he did this to me" katie i love your sense of humor lol
Yay I'm glad Tiler was nice! She's my fave :) Sad to hear the others were catty though, and it makes me wonder what they think about Miriam Miller, who got Titania as an apprentice and hasn't even hit one year of her corps contract yet but has already danced Lilac Fairy, The Siren (Prodigal Sun) and other featured roles. Maybe people are more chill because she's a tall dancer and those roles are usually the tall roles.
I love all the details you tell.
Thank you!
This is a random comment but... i didn't even know Kathryn knew Tiler Peck! I am in the Nutcracker this year and Tiler Peck is guest starring as the Sugar Plum Fairy one of the days i am dancing and I am a big fan of her, Of course im also a huge fan of Kathryn and I love all of these videos!!
Loved to hear the anecdote about Tiler helping her out with the choreography on stage. :)
Okay, so I'm going to do a little female ballet dancer's dream roles list: Odette, Black Swan, Sugar Plum Fairy, Clara, Juilet, and Giselle. Might have missed a few, but I know those are basically the top tier roles.
Hi Katie, I really appreciate the fact that you are so honest in your videos. So often when audience members attend a performance, all that they see is the final product. They miss the blood, sweat, tears, and drama that goes in to make every show a great one. Thanks so much for sharing your story. Your videos have encouraged me to keep on pusuing a career in dance.
You are wonderful at story telling! Most videos where the youtuber tells a story have so many cuts because of fumbling that the connection gets lost. But because you're so eloquent it was so easy to go on the journey with you!
The Tyler story is always entertaining! No matter how many times you tell itXD
What a great story!
I had such a crush on Sean Lavery when I was a teenager. I was really sorry to hear about his death.
I've never done ballet but I am fascinated by it and by the way the companies function, so I really enjoy these videos. Can't wait to see more and hear the exciting news. Btw I haven't watched your videos for a while now and I noticed your hair looks SO much fuller, is these a particular reason for it ?
Love these once upon a pointe
It would be really interesting to hear more about how different dancers get cast in different roles... meaning how different dance styles etc are matched to different parts. Thanks!
The quality of your videos just keeps getting better and better! I've been watching a lot of your content recently and it's so great to see how you progressed- you're absolutely glowing at the moment! I'm so so happy I found you on here, you inspire me in many ways ❤️
OMG I wish I could have seen your expression when he asked you to do that part!
Thank you for sharing this story of your experience with New York City Ballet - very fascinating.
The facial expressions as you tell/reenact the story are on pointe!
Haha good one
You are an amazing Juliet ... Loved watching you dance that at the Kennedy Center. Hope all is well. Miss getting to dance with you, my private lesson was one of the best days while I was living in New York.
FYI love the new hashtag!
Really enjoy these detailed accounts of your experiences in the company. I could hear tons more of these, anecdotes and small general stuff as well as the big events that happened for you. Thank you!
You are the perfect Juliet!
I know I have commented this on your last 2 videos with no reply but I found you modeling a leotard (Natalie strappy back on discount dance) and I just wanted you to know...Love #OneUponaPointe
This is just the the most interesting story! With your facial expressions and once in a very special lifetime experience. Thanks for sharing!
Hello Katie, I'm so glad you're back I've missed your videos so much!
Could you please make a video to perhaps start off the year on how to improve as a dancer or how to make this upcoming year the best it can be? 💗
Love love love the stories!!
This storytime was so fun! You are so inspiring! 💞💞
Awww thank you!
Hello Kathryn I love these storytimes! Could you please do a video on pull up? I feel like I'm constantly "sitting" in my hip and it's affecting my turnout. This would be very much appreciated!! xoxo
Yes I will work on that!
Kathryn Morgan thank you so much (in advance)! xoxo
Loved this video! So inspirational, and also super entertaining!
Thank you! xoxo
love these stories!!
So glad to have you back, Katie xxxxx
I absolutely remember this at SPAC. I was on the lawn. It's great to hear the story
I love these videos! They're very entertaining and exciting! A story about when you got into SAB would be great.
Katie, I hope you're doing Vlogmas this year as well? I always look forward to it! :)
Great story, Katy!
Are you going to do Vlogmas this year in your other channel!!??
You were so lucky! Also I was wondering if you could do a live class on youtube, if not just live videos in general.
MORE STORIES!!! Love you and your such a amazing person and inspiration☺️❤️😍
Gosh I would dye of nerves!!!🤦♀️🤦♀️ Awesome girl you are !!!❤❤
7:41 I’m dead 😂 you go girl. 10:47 I’m also laughing so hard!!! I also have a question, my studio doesn’t do partner dancing and I’ve done it once before and I’m really good at it, idk where I should go or how I should tell my ballet teacher that we need boys’
I love your hair, it looks super cute!
Ahhh I love these story times. Also for your next q and a, do you think you could answer whether it’s better to start out dancing with a small company and then working your way up, or starting with a bigger company and then transferring to a smaller one if you don’t feel like the bigger one’s a good fit?
oh my gosh i absolutely love your hair! I am always so inspired by you!!
What was it like to have a parent make such a huge sacrifice for the family for your career by moving to NYC? I was always curious how that happened for other dancers and how it works out for everyone involved, how tough a decision it is or not. It must be amazing to have a parent do that for you for sure.
I love listen to you, these videos are amazing😍😍
I absolutely love your ballet videos!
Thank you Ella!
Katie's life should be made into a movie
how can somebody be the nicest person but act like that? i dont think so
not a dancer, have nothing to do with ballet. but, it is so interesting to see how there are so many diff worlds in the world. meaning, she is talking about some balcony scene and im sitting here thinking ook, aaand..? means nothing to me, in my world. but obviously to a ballet dancer it means everything. diff perspectives, different lives.
He was just diva-ing out. Some dancers do that. But most are super nice. Katie is just a nice person that she forgave him immediately and just ignored his previous behavior so they ended up becoming friends.
Ikr! As a non dancer, so many things shock me to the core
Oh my goodness gracious Katie, I probably saw you in Swan Lake that summer! I’m from Saratoga, and a friend of mine had tickets that she couldn’t use. I was 8 and it was magical. Now I’m sorry I didn’t see Juliet! :D
I love hearing your stories! I heard you mention Merrill Ashley and her book introduced me to Balanchine. From that point on I have fallen more in love with his work and the people he worked with. I would love to hear more stories about the many people who coached you.
You are an amazing storyteller!!! Loved the video
More #Onceuponapointe!
I love your story times!
Your hair looks really healthy I'm so happy for you ,you are such an inspiration!
Kathy I loved your video and I'd love to get more photographs like the one of you in class, they provide a great insight!
I could listen to you 24/7
Once Upon a Tyler...
In LOVE with this series!
Can you post more commentaries? I love them so much!!
These are my favorite videos that you make!!!! Please continue doing these often!!!!
Loved this story! Also, congrats on your tee shirt line-super cute shirts and funny quotes! Ironically, I just did a test run of my artwork on a line of shirts as well (launching soon-takes time).
Can’t get enough of your videos!! X
This is such a good story. I am loving these videos and totally living vicariously through you!
Dear Katie,
My teachers say that I have strong allegro, artistry, and barre, but my turns are not the best. I have a double, but not a triple yet. Is it possible for me to become a professional dancer in the future even if I don’t have the strongest turns? I really enjoyed this video today!
Emma Schulte My turns aren't the best either, so I'd be interested in knowing aswell!
Even professionals have weaker areas than others, but turns get easier and easier just by practicing(I know from experience because my turns used to be my weak area and now they are one of my best things.)
Love these story videos, wonderful. Just want you to keep talking, looking forward to the next ones. Thanks for sharing :)
When are you writing a book?!
Do you have any memories of preforming dew drop with City ballet?
Oh yes! Will tell that, too!
Kathryn Morgan thank you so much!!!! I'm so excited
Your hair looks so amazing now!!!
I know you get this all the time Im sure but you remind me of Liz Taylor! Great series! :)
"hi i/m Tyler"
Hi Kathrin I love your videos! You are an inspiration xxxx
can you please PLEASE do a video on how you got handled academics when you trained at sab? I think it would help me a lot😁
Can you please do a full video on the SAB summer course. I want to know every detail about it. Can you basically do a review on it?
Hi, this is not ready about your story, but more wanting to know your thoughts. With you being someone who danced at New York City ballet did it ever bother you, or where you even aware of the ballet stereotypes to hat Balanchine created?
Since you are quite pale, and ballet does just lack people of different skin tones. What would you like to see moving forward?
Are you going to mkae more commentary ballet videos? Those are always my favorite to watch.. I think I've seen each one like 4 times haha
Love your stories!!
Can you please do a video on how to set and reach your goals in dance💕btw I love your videos❤️
I will work on that! xoxo
I came across this video randomly and wondered why it wasn't in my subscription box and then I realised that I'm not subscribed. Don't know what happened there UA-cam must've unsubscribed me. Never mind I'm back 😂❤️
Katie please please please please please do a video on tips for sab summer course auditions. For example what they want to see in dancers and things like that.
please write a book
3:09 "stay tuned" 😂😂😂
Great video! Love your stories. What lipstick are you wearing? It looks so pretty on you.
You need to write a memoir or autobiography of some kind I would totally read it!
I have been re-watching all of your old ballet videos and am so so excited that they're back!! You are so incredibly inspiring. ❤️ ps. Would you ever like to go back to NYCB?
Thank you so much! I do apologize for no dancing videos as of late. But you guys mean the world to me!
You do not need to apologise! You've dedicated so much of your life to ballet, take as many breaks as you need!❤️
Awesome!
Oh, wow, thanks!
I enjoy these videos 😁
Maybe she's going back to the company or opening her own dance studio. I hope you can tell us soon 😮🤔
EXO WAO SNSD😍😍also I don’t think she would be going back the a company because even though her illness has improved, it still might not be good enough to be dancing 8 hrs a day AND she might like teaching more! I’d love to see her performing on stage more often tho
And now she is in Miami City Ballet as a soloist!😍
For some reason I feel like she's pregnant. I just hope that everything is ok though. Love you, Katie
Nope! Not pregnant. But all is good! Just big career things happening that I think you guys are going to be happy about. :)
Kathryn Morgan OMG when your favorite youtuber responds so you roll off from the couch. Katie, I'm not a dancer, but I do sports where flexibility helps a lot, and I have to say, your videos are GOLDEN. So so so helpful, and me personally having similar problems to yours in a way, from food disorder to having food intolerance and having health issues to coming back. Such an inspiration and a role model, not just for me but for every other girl. Such a lovely, elegant, decent and down to Earth woman. Your videos always make me laugh and learn. Keep on going and doing such a good job as always. Best of wishes to you and your family. :)
Thank you so so much! This completely made my day. I am so sorry you are dealing with health issues as well. Hang in there! You aren't alone! Much love!
I’ve thinking the same thing! Thanks for clearing it up, Katie 😉 Can’t wait to hear what the real big news is though!
Sandra R no way
Could you do a commentary of this?
Hi Katie, my dance teacher says I need to work on my jumps, can you make a video to help your jumps?
That would help a lot. Thanks
I love you so much
I really enjoyed this! Are there any other choreographer's versions of Romeo & Juliet that you would have liked to dance? Which is your favourite version?
This is a funny interesting video
Can you make a video on ballet runs and maybe a follow-along extension workout?
Yes! Will work on both!
Rache
I’ve been wondering if I could start ballet at age 16 even though I have completely fallen arches?
Therese Conway yep! I started in my 20’s with flat feet 😃
Have you told this story in your podcast, or where have I heard it?
