I came to your video because the WIKE website didn't have much info at all about the "Highsided" DIY bike trailer kit. But I thought the music was rather nice. Just wanted to say that. Have a good day, y'all!
thanks for the video this was fun to watch I live about 20 kms from wike and I am thinking about getting this kit I love to do diy stuff so hope I can make my self a touring trailer and go get grociers during the summer with my recumbent trike. thanks again for your video.
YES. Like your "work on the ground like a peasant". -Totally do not remember the camera at that gig... just sneaking in some videography everywhere! :)
Nice trailer and excellent video. I would love to replace my pickup truck with something like this some day, but the nature of my jobs doesn't allow it (yet).
It's a standard hitch pin - I picked up a spare at the hardware store and it was easy to find one. The bike is a Norco Indie 4, but I now use an ebike - the RadRunner 2 - to haul the wagon
Might as well add a top 5x2 with hinges and a hasp for a lock. Seems like using plywood would make this fairly heavy. Nice that the kit includes bigger 20" tires. I'd like to make one with 26" tires like those on my bike so if I keep spares, one size fits all.
I've thought about adding a top, but my loads are frequently taller than the top of the box. I'm rebuilding it in a couple weeks and am considering a lower wall height for easier load/unloading as well. The 20" tires work great. I have two pairs from WIKE in case something happens to one. Finding tubes has been no problem as well.
I was wondering why the music was so good, and not the free stuff you hear in every other video. Then it clicked, the trailer is for an instrument, and the music is played on that instrument... duh
No written directions, but I believe they have a UA-cam video with some guidance. It wasn't too difficult to figure out but I can share the sentiment about drilling holes!
WIKE includes a recommended material list on their website - I followed it exactly. Basically, 1" aluminum pipe for the frame and 1/2" plywood floor with 3/8" plywood walls.
Creepers..... Had a dude show up at my house after he trianglated my address from watching my ride videos. Drove 300 miles to ride with me.... freaky AF.
I go back and forth with wearing a helmet based on the activity and circumstance. For example, I always wear a helmet when mountain biking, but rarely wear one for things like grocerties.

Cool trailer bro! Looks like it turned out really well 👍
Thanks! Yeah it's sweet - going to be putting a little advertising on the side today, too
I like that you weren't afraid to share a mistake you made and how you fixed it. Thank you 👍😎
It's important to be honest and humble, haha. You're welcome
Hello
where did you buy the towbar for the bicycle trailer
thanks for the reply
It came with the trailer kit from wike. Too easy :)
You said this company has all sorts of kits? Need their website!
Nice trailer and excellent video. I would love to replace my pickup truck with something like this some day, but the nature of my jobs doesn't allow it (yet).
That's okay - there's always something to look forward to. I felt very liberated when I got rid of my van, but there are some harder times still
Does that hitch have the 12mm hole? If so what bike is that? I need to set up their DIY flatbed style kit.

Thanks for the info. It helps a lot.
Can it carry 50-80 klgs weight specially when the road is a little bit uphill?
Yep, I use more of the electric assist, but it has no problem with moderate hills.
Hi, I bought a WIKE DIY trailer kit and have an easy question. what lengths do I cut if I want mine to be 48Lx24Wx36H?
Not 100% sure. I would recommend cutting an extra inch. You can always shave it off later!
Great build could you please kindly let me know how much it weighed
It's a fantastic trailer. Total unloaded weight is roughly 40 lbs
How much did u pay for the wagon trailer it self
The trailer was about $400-500 in material costs.
Might as well add a top 5x2 with hinges and a hasp for a lock.

It is always a good day to build a wagon! Perhaps Wike will send you the next wagon for free?
It's a fun project, too! I'd love to demo more of Wike's products if they send them.

And I wrote the music ;) Thanks for the comment! Glad people notice and appreciate it.
Did it not come with any directions? I would not want to drill the existing joints!
No written directions, but I believe they have a UA-cam video with some guidance. It wasn't too difficult to figure out but I can share the sentiment about drilling holes!
Now all you need to do is paint it and add flags, reflectors and maybe lights, like I did with the WIKE DYI kits I put together. Great kit.
Can u put in the description of all the materials?

You should water seal the wood

Hi great video, should have worn a helmet!

music is annoying, but great trailer.
