  • Overview of the large size Wike trailer made for people with special needs that are under 125 lbs. This trailer is easy to pull with any bike but will it work with an e-bike? It sure does and the e-bike makes it super easy to get up to speed from a dead stop. At the end of this video, I show off two really nice accessories for the trailer, a storage bag, and a cover.
If your bike does not have enough threads on the axle then Wike recommends checking with The Robert Axle Project robertaxleproject.com/

Thanks so much for this video! This is the exact setup we are going to have. We are just waiting for my husband’s Lectric xp to ship. Did you end up needing a different bolt or some other modification for your lectric? Or did it work with the bike hitch as is?
    Thanks so much!

Just had to remove the wheel nut and slip the bracket on then put the nut back on. It goes on snug but I didn't have to change anything. Thanks for watching the video

This is the largest bike trailer I've ever seen. I'm hoping to get an electric bike or tricycle for alternative transportation, also, I'm trying to find a trailer that I can attach to the bike that can hold my luggage and camping gear. How fast does this bike go and if you were to put your luggage and camping gear in that trailer, how to you expect it would perform on the roadway? Thank You for writing back.

Here is some info that might help. My daughter is about 100lbs. The bike has a top speed of 28mph with me being over 200lbs. Pulling her I have reached 20 mph but have not tried to go any faster then that. The trailer has a recommended top speed of 13 mph I think. I have pulled her on a non ebike and its not hard at all. I just love how the ebike helps us get up to speed and also makes going up hills a breeze. Wike does make other carts that might work better for what you need.

Rick, what happens if the bike tips or falls to either side? Does the trailer fall too? I’m wondering if it works like Schwinn trailers that will stay upright.

I would say no, but I have not tested it. I'm sure it would pull on the trailer a bit, but with a child in the back the added weight would keep it from tipping over. The arm has a rubber connection that connects to the bike bracket. I think that would bend before it would tip the trailer over. I should have it out next week or so and I will let you know for sure.

I tested it empty :) with just the bike tipping over, it was fine. The rubber inside the connector will pop out if it's twisted to far.

Hi! I have this same bike - did you have enough threads already for the hitch? Or did you need to reach out for assistance?

It went on great, it was a perfect fit and still some thread left over. Thanks for watching, hope you liked and subscribed

Hello! I have a son with downs and we are thinking of the same setup. Which model of the Lectric bike did you go with? Thanks!

I have the first XP model, its the same as the XP 2.0 but the 2.0 has thinner wheels now and a front suspension. I took off my fenders so mine looks like the XP lite now lol. If you only plan on riding when it's dry, then think about the XP lite. But if you like the fenders and racks, the look at the XP 2.0

@@Ricks_Tech_Talk Excited to say I ended up purchasing the XP 2.0 with the WIke trailer. However, I could not find the axel needed. I went to the site you suggested. When filling out the questionnaire it asked me what ebike I have purchased. I did not have Lectric bike listed. Would you provide a link to which one you ended up getting? Thanks!

I never had to use an adaptor for mine, I had enough thread on the bolt that the bracket went on fine. They must have used a smaller hub bolt on the 2.0 Call them and ask them what size the hub bolt is, then you can let the other guy know the size you need. Or contact him and ask if you can send him the nut off the hub, so he can check the thread size. Once you know the thread size, you can start looking for an extender. If you find one that fits, please send me the link :)
