    11:02 Learn more about digestion!
Let’s talk about how to get rid of bloating fast. When it comes to a problem with the digestive system, the first thing you need to do is consider what you’re eating.
You can try consuming fewer foods to help isolate what’s causing you to bloat the most. It’s important to consider what you ate just before you noticed you were bloated. This will give you a big clue as to what’s causing you to bloat.
One of the best things to do for bloating is intermittent fasting. The more frequently you eat, the more bloating problems you’ll have. Gas produced by microbes in your gut can also cause bloating.
When trying to get rid of bloating, avoiding certain things is way more important than taking certain things.
Common foods to avoid to help with bloating:
    • Fruit
    • Beans
    • Grains
    • Refined sugars
    • Sugar alcohols
    • Starches
    • Maltodextrin or dextrin
    • Functional fibers
    • Prebiotics
    • Gluten
    • Lactose
    • Casein
    • Nuts or nut butter
    • Vegetables
    Other potential causes of bloating:
    • Stress
    • Constipation
    • Menstrual cramps

People did have allergies and intolerance all through history but they just lived with it, life was already hard work for many already. People would have deficiencies in vitamins, like Rickets in kids were caused by lack of vitamin D . War rations would have caused a lack of certain vitamins and minerals too. Poorer people would eat food that was going off, and water that wasn’t too clean, and probably have a bad stomach.
Remember nearly everyone had great grandmothers and grandmothers who all had several babies that died, that was common, my granny had 12 kids, 3 died in infancy. Many stories from women in slums were the same, babies kids and teens dying, so some would be caused by unknown gastrointestinal illnesses that would now be easily fixed
But yes, chemical rubbish E numbers and additives in food are causing all sorts too. At the same time, a lot of people would have had better immune systems through being exposed to more germs too.
On top of that, we are more hygienic than many years ago, and our immune systems are different now.

@@joyelle7578 I think the milk the kefir is made in makes a big difference. I use raw or A2/A2 and I'm fine. Dr. Berg has a video on when to take probiotics and it's when your stomach acid is diluted by food so the bacteria survives the transit through the stomach. I always drank my kefir to break my fast before I learned the empty stomach environment was the worst possible time! Now I have it for dessert, LOL.

Bloating has many reasons for happening and depending on the reason pre fermented foods suck as kefir or kombucha are not advised.
In my country commercializing raw milk is illegal. We can find however A2/A2 and i do buy it once in a while. But there is no brand that makes kefir from A2/A2 milk. One of the reasons I miss living in the US. The healthy option are infinite compared to my country.

Hi Dr. Eric Berg DC. I been watching your Videos here. I am 62 years old so I was trying to eat healthier and because of that I wasn't eating carbohydrates mainly bread and while I found out that I don't lose any hair anymore I think it was the gluten in the bread. Don't eat any corn things anymore. Or processed food things that have a lot of different ingredients in them that you don't even know what they are. So that change the way I ate.
I noticed my pants start to get loose on me I never hardly weigh myself so I finally weighed myself and I couldn't believe it I was 167 lb and I went down to 150 in about 3 months.
So it's just eating better wow I never lost weight in my life but now I have mainly for meeting different better food.
Stop eating bread because it's carbohydrates that convert into sugar and because they say it can cause cancer Maybe with the Acrylamide they put in bread that had a lot of countries ban and California puts a warning on it.
But I think the one word you could use is just "sugar" too much sugar that's our energy people eat too much of it and they don't use all that energy kind of proves it when you breathe you exercise and you have to breathe harder almost any chemical reaction that makes energy needs oxygen including us eat too much sugar and it goes to fat and then you can use the fat as energy. Fiber will slow down the sugar I guess that's why fruits and vegetables have it.
One more thing cuz I was eating different my leg had a sore on it for about a whole month it wouldn't heal up I never had that before I would eat a Orange one a day but I guess that wasn't enough vitamin C I started eating sauerkraut then my leg started to heal up I guess it has more vitamin C than a Orange. Maybe I had a little thing of scurvy.
    Thank you.

The key to this puzzle is simple. Moderation, less of all these foods is better. Be active, walk everyday or jog a little if you can, just move. The result is not going to happen fast just like your problem didn’t occur fast. The main problem is after a year or two we get to feeling better and looking much better and then fall off the plan. So keep your plan going and you will be in good shape.

I was literally _thinking about bloating_ when I checked for Dr. Berg's 6 AM EST video because I just learned from Dr. Mindy that a woman can have severe bloating MID-cycle (not PMS) due to a *difficulty breaking down estrogen (known as **_"estrogen metabolism"_** ) and I'm bloated* from that right now. I'm usually about 103 lbs and this morning up to 106 for "no reason." It's frustrating, but at least I know estrogen metabolism is my issue. I just wish I knew whether to eat estrogenic food to solve the problem; some research says AVOID, other research says EAT. It's all my favorite stuff, though, so I'm going with EAT and seeing how it goes, LOL.

I just got rid of a big case of bloating by tackling potassium deficiency! I've been taking 2 teaspoons of cream of tartar (potassium bitartrate) which is about 2 grams of potassium I believe. We have it on supermarket shelves in UK, not sure about US. Immediately my brain fog lifted and felt super energetic, and I could actually feel my guts finally getting rid of everything that was stuck. Been feeling amazing since!

@@Lolipop59 Yep, for now I'm trying 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon cream of tartar every morning in a glass of water and see which way it goes. But I have no clue about what's considered safe dosage for cream of tartar, i.e. if it has any serious side effects. I think most concern would be if you're overloading on potassium which could be dangerous, but as long as your kidneys function well I understand you should be peeing out any excess. I'll be keeping an eye out in the coming 2 weeks anyway but so far it's a very promising rapid effect for me.

What diet should you follow for optimal growth, and if there are any special things you can eat or do. I would really appreciate it if you would consider it, and even more if you did.

I've only ever been bloated once in 33 years so far and that was the first time I had quinoa pasta and ate it super fast. I'm not sure why my digestion system is so efficient in processing whatever foods I eat but I think I have an idea why. From the time I was a child my mother always made sure we ate nothing but home cooked meals and all our meals were always eaten on the clock because of the schedule. Morning time, around 12:30pm and the last meal around no later than 6pm and we never snacked in between. Not only that but she'd always cook with whatever was in season. That meant fresh veggies from late spring throughout the fall and winter time was more meat and only preserved canned veggies. We never had processed/fast foods as kids because they weren't available at the time in Eastern Europe. The first time I had McDonalds was way into late into my teens. Don't get me wrong I'm human I like to indulge with a big mac but that's like once every four month or so when I crave it. So I think people need sit down at the table, enjoy a plate of good food and have a relation with it not just eat on the go. Theres solid research that shows that sitting while eating aids in digesting food more effectively.

Thanks for the video and all the other videos, Dr. Berg. I am at lost. I've been bloated for over ten years now. I would really like to figure out exactly what's going on. I always thought I had SIBO. But maybe not, At the beginning of the year, i started the carnivore diet. I thought that's probably the best elimination and easiest diet i can try. I lost 30 lbs within a month, which wasn't something i was aiming for. But okay, unfortunately, it didn't get rid of the bloating. I do a 16-hour fast and eat in an 8-hour window. 7 months now. My ab is still tight and bloated. I get bloated just by drinking water without any food. I don't get it. I don't think I have ascites. Because my belly will flatten if I laid down. It just feels like my small intestines are inflamed all the time, so it protrude, perhaps? Or is it gas? But what can cause the gas? I am on a meat diet, nothing else. What can cause this chronic bloating? I am 6'1 150lbs. It's really not much body fat.
I really don't want to ask the doctors. I'd lost faith from them, well actually i dont think i had much to begin with. From my own GP to doctors that I previously had gone to. All they want is push pills. And based on most people I read in forums, it's pretty much the same. It's really hard these days to find a medical professional who will think cause and diet first than think which medication will treat the symptoms first. I don't blame them. I blame the established medical system. I'll keep looking and try different ideas, I tried quite a bit of supplements. Perhaps I still haven't found the right one or the right diet. Thank you for all you do and your channel. You're doing what every doctor should do. Try to increase the number of people you can help, educate, and bring cures, not increase the maximum appointment you can fill per day.

I had terrible bloat problems. Number 1 is dairy. I’m now lactose intolerant. Part of the aging process. Number 2 is wheat. I’m not allergic or celiac. It was just isolating the food that was doing the bloating. No dairy or gluten and no more bloat.

The USA300 mssa pvl related Pandemic seems to be a Major cause of bloating, so which supplements for that?

@@Drberg Thank you so much mate! I knew it was my foods but I also thought I’d was because I didn’t have a thyroid anymore. What has just computed in my brain is that after I had my thyroid out I almost immediately started craving Carbs and Sugars! Like really badly. I will be implementing this immediately (as best I can 😉) but thank you once again. I really appreciate everything you do. I wish I wasn’t on the other side of the world or I’d try book in to see you. Cheers 🇦🇺

Hi Dr Berg. Thank you for your videos and your advice. Whats do you think about sour cream? I have read it's a good surce of retinol and probiotics.

Very informative video. Broccoli 💯 bloats me too. However, i can handle it in very small quantities.

I watch Dr. Berg regularly, and I accept many of the things he mentions. The exception is always honey. Dr Berg insists that honey is more or less just 'sugar'. I must disagree. I suggest to Dr Berg to dig deeper and do scientific research on raw, unprocessed honey. I expect he will be surprised at how healthy and beneficial and therapeutic real unprocessed honey is.

I think it depends upon the amount and how often it is consumed. Although personally I've recently been using it for wound/scar healing, it's very effective.
