thanks for watching my video! did not expect it to get as big as it did! i do reviews and other commentary stuff about gaming and sometimes i just make a video of me playing a game just for fun so if youre interested go ahead and subscribe. The YT algorithm dangled it in front of me and reading the title I thought: "Never heard of this game. It flew under the radar? A hidden gem? I'm intrigued."
Best looking game of the year. Bit short though, really wanted to spend more time in that universe, maybe a random minor crimes add-on is called for, I’d quite happily spend a few more hours in my flying 1930s car in a blade runner-esque city chasing down minor offences!
Cyberpunk (the genre) is heavily influenced by film noir, it’s just more in-your-face this time. Hell, right from the start, James Karra is shown to be a huge fan of hard boiled detective movies
I really loved system observer , which isn’t noir but a detective/cyberpunk/walking simulator. It was definitely more horror oriented but still a game where exploring murders and clicking on things became the core gameplay loop. So I am really looking forward to this one
I'd been waiting to play this game ever since I saw the first trailer. Some time passed and I forgot about it, then I saw the thumbnail and title for this video, which made me realise the game released. I bought it on Steam and had my first playthtough. This video game is amazing and feels like Blade Runner while clearly being its own unique idea. I played this on PC on Maximum settings and I didn't encounter any problems. I got to experience this wonderful story in all its graphical glory.
I honestly respect the fact that eventhough yes the game is short, it IS only $25 so feels a lot less like a slap in the balls like a lot of the AAA developers try to pull
It's the Blade Runner aesthetic but really leaning into the authentic film noir era of Sam Spade with a story clearly inspired by Altered Carbon, wrapped around the Braindance sequences from Cyberpunk 2077, and starts with an intro video ripped straight out of Fallout. And it all works. I just finished the game and have to say it's one of the most atmospheric and visually impressive titles I've ever played. Would've been nice if it had some freeroam exploration or action. Maybe a sequel can have bigger scope. I'd have loved to actually fly my spinner- sorry...car, around future NYC. Maybe eat at a hovering noodle stand. 2, 2, 4...and noodles!
The Soul Chip in "Nobody wants to Die" sounds like the stuff from the TV show Altered Carbon, same goes for the Story. While the show has its action shooting parts. Its also bout uncovering a murder. What are the odds....
I just finished this one today , I really enjoyed it ! I was blown away , it was a breath of fresh air , the game length is perfect , the story keeps you engaged the entire time and I'm the kind of person who usually just skips cutscenes
Thanks for the review👍 I was immediately sold on this when I saw the trailer combining Cyberpunk/Blade Runner/1930’s Noir themes together😍 And the price is a very positive surprise in the era of overly priced videogames.
Glad you like it! The main reason I chose to beat the whole game and post this today as opposed to sometime next week is because literally no one else was reviewing it so i thought id come actually talk about this game that everyone seems to have forgotten about…
Definitely going to check this out, Have you ever played observer? Im sure you know it..but If you liked this you'll probably like observer too it's a cyberpunk "horror" game and The character you play as is even voiced by rutger hauer (RIP) which is too cool because ya know he was Roy Batty 🥺
Thanks for explaining the gameplay ! Other reviews did not mention much of the gameplay ! I’m glad to know is more story focused and more cinematic ! Because I did not see much player control ! So at least I know what type of game it is ! I love cyberpunk themed games and the game def looks great ! But I didn’t expect much of gameplay ! Which is still fine with me ! I at least know this is more of a cinematic experience then a gameplay one ! I’m fine with walking simulators also ! But I’m glad to know that at least not to expect too much player control and it helps in knowing what to expect when playing this game ! I expect the gameplay will prob along the lines of like fire watch ! Which was a cool game !
It's £17.99 atm, I've only done the first mission so far and got to my apartment, it's an intriguing and gorgeous world, could spend hours and hours in it, these devs deserve a lot of respect and every success
The fact that no one else has done a review on this yet is crazy. But who cares cause mainstream reviewers are mostly trash anyways 😂 good job on this one, bruh, keep it up
@@squigsN.O.E I didnt know until like a week before but only because of the 10 minute gameplay video. if that didnt release i literally wouldnt know it exists
Still Wakes The Deep besides voice acting was absolute garbage, what the hell kind of ending was that?I mean it told us nothing of what happened and or why it happened?I mean the game had so much potential and they ruined it!
I can understand your perspective but I will respectfully disagree with you on that. I thought the ending was great and the story overall was really good. Sometimes a good story doesnt need to explain everything it just needs to explain some things and leave the rest for you to interpret.
hey, and if youre curious why i have that opinion on the game heres the link to the other channel where we discussed it. ua-cam.com/video/dOOReoqiojg/v-deo.htmlsi=TTlk1VU_umuOv-wz
Personally I dislike 40s with cyberpunk. Would rather go Bioshock's steampunk then. Games are always the same anyway, same voice actor for same bland main characters 😂

I don’t think it’s a 1960s aesthetic. It’s more of a 1930’s art deco mixed with cyberpunk.
ah okay gotchu 👍 im a little dumb so
"Deco-Punk"! 😎

Definitely the mid to late1930's, all that Noir aesthetic, with a touch of the Bioshock and steampunk/cyberpunk vibe.

Im getting annoyed how a great indie game like this isnt getting coverage. Glad youre doing the lords work.

If you liked Observer from a few years ago you'll like this. My quick review. lol
Nice review by a player that likes walking simulators. I like how they added a discount on the price at release.
i mean using the steam sales calculator they probably made around 2 million revenue by now which is not bad.

Developers didn't pay anyone for the review, so there are not many of them yet
Well cyberpunk as a genre is already sci-fi neo-noir so “cyberpunk neo-noir “ is redundant but yeah
I really enjoyed your commentary in this video. Best of luck to u

I like Cyber Noir better than Cyberpunk for this one. Cyberpunk, to me, has more of an 80s ascetic. Ether way, it was a good narrative driven game.
