In my opinion, The saddest death for me as a kid was when Zane from Lego Ninjago sacrificed himself to save the whole world. And with the sad music playing in the background and the obvious pain he was enduring, it makes it so much sadder
Am I the only one who found Fry's dog's death to be sadder than Mufasa's? I mean damn, if that wasn't the mother of all loyalty, I don't know what is. It was hard to watch him waiting for so long for a master that will never come back for him. :'(
when stoick died i cried so damn hard cuz he reminded me of my dad. so when i watched it i basically saw my own father died. i hugged my dad for a while after seeing that lol
of COURSE Lion King's number one... Let's be honest, who actually cried when Mufasa died? I remember crying WAY more when Bambi's mom died, or when Seymour died.
David Hopkins oh no, somebody called me a jerk! whatever will I do?! Oh, the agony! ... seriously? you think yelling at people who have different opinions in the youtube comment section is doing anything for you?
+Yoshiga Victory (yoshiga123) It's hilarious that you would say this and yet you're berating people who actually did cry at Mufasa's death. Hypocrisy if I've ever seen it.
+Yoshiga Victory (yoshiga123) Please, everyone thinks Bambi is so sad .His mom is killed offscreen and there's barely any reflection on her death. With the Lion King, we see Simba's desperation when he wants to wake up his dad, his helplessness. Now, THAT's emotional depth. I agree on the Seymour thing though.
Kenny s death was sad for me, even though he died several times, but that time, it was more emotional, Same as the iron giant, it made me cry as a kid.
The first time I saw Optimus Prime, everyone's favorite hero, die, I was like "What the f#@k, Hasbro?" Did anyone cry at Optimus Prime's death, or were you like me when I first saw him die when I was a kid? Reply "yes" to either of those options.
Agree with you and I don't have the best thing ever is when you get a job and I don't know what I do not have to do with a new phone case is not the same thing to me I love you so much fun and easy to use and the first place for me to get To see what I want to go to the game with me and I don't have a nice day for me and the other side of the year before the end of the best thing ever is when you get to the best of the day after day of school tomorrow and I'm still waiting for the bus to come to think about you but you can't get it together and I have to go out now I can't wait to see my friends and family members of the best day ever!
+Mojgan Mottaghi By the time we made this video Big Hero 6 wasn't even released on DVD, so we couldn't get the footage. Otherwise, it surely diserves a place in this list! :D
+Kalli T What movie came out three years ago? The Land Before Time came out in 1988 before I was born and clearly a three year old can't type like this.
Cinemaniacs left out one of the most beautiful endings and bittersweet deaths by far in an animated film -- one that still makes men my age cry like babies: Hazel meeting the Black Rabbit himself in the epilogue/ending of Watership Down (1979). The Black Rabbit himself has come to escort Hazel to the bunny afterlife, which is an incredible honor for the courageous, noble Hazel. That ending is still one of the powerful endings I have ever seen -- so perfect, so bittersweet.
Number 7 shoulda been 1. I started running likea faucet out my eyes q.q. THAT SONG MAKES IT WORSE. ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAD A DOG THAT WOULD WAIT FOR ME.
+Waterlily02 Hey, watch your mouth! First of all, Scar was jealous of Mufasa becoming king when he was a cub. He first killed his father Ahadi when he was a young adult. Then he killed Mufasa when he was an adult.
Anyone else cry a river no a ocean of tears epically mufasa and Bambi, Ray and pratically all of these I found this pulling my heart strings and breaking into pieces .......🦁🦌😭 May they Rest In Peace
I remember watching The Lion King when it was first released, and when Simba was nudging Mufasa going "Dad? Dad? Cmon Dad, get up, we gotta go home. Dad?" the entire theatre was sobbing. Not just crying quietly, but full on gasping, gulping, red faced, noisy sobbing. Every person.
the saddest cartoon death was teen Titans Powerpuff girls Ben 10 by a disease called reboot another saddest cartoon death was Popeye by a disease called emojis
Man when Little Foot's mom and Mufasa died I remeber crying so hard when I was kid, hell just by seeing them again I'm shedding a little tears. The feels G 😔
MeRRy KiTtEN Toontown I agree with you. loss of a mother or person who supports you from the beginning is much worse than the loss of his father. mothers always has a deeper bond... (this is my opinion)
I cried and screamed at my tv at scar when is younger because he let Simbas dad go, well he did say long live the king so I take it as if he is saying Simbas is now king lol 😭😢😠
I know this was made before the movie was released, but Bing Bong from "Inside Out." That sacrificial death. Going to seem mean, but Mufasa's death never really got to me that much. Bambi's mom was just sadder. Probably because her body was never shown, he was told his mother couldn't be with him anymore, and she never made another appearance. Simba kind of saw and heard his father later on. And I think hearing the actor (as Bambi) calling for his mother was just sadder to me. It was obviously a younger actor, and it was just gut wrenching.
Sure, Stoick's death isn't exactly #1 on this list, but it's definitely the saddest scene of not only the entire "How To Train Your Dragon" franchise, but all of DreamWorks period. In the first movie, he went from someone hating dragons to befriending them thanks mostly to Hiccup. Throughout the series, he helped out with dragon problems and his relationship with his son improved, though it still had its ups and downs, which in some ways is understandable. By the time the second film came around, you can see how much Stoick had changed thanks to his character development. That all just servers to make his death more sad, because like Mufasa, he went out in an act of sacrifice: in this case, it was shoving Hiccup away at the last possible second from a brainwashed Toothless (thanks to Drago's Bewilderbeast), who was about to fire at him, and taking a full plasma blast to the chest in his son's place. At the end of the day, I don't care if Stoick's isn't on the top spot; it's still sad in its own way.
the entire episode fry is trying to bring his dog from the past back to life. when he finds out the dog was 17 when it died he stops the procedure, he said "symour lived a good life without me. he grew old without me , in 10 years he probably forgot me . it's best I leave him be and let him have the life he had" then it goes back in time. showing you what you just saw, that in truth the dog sat and waited for fry infront of the pizza place for 10 years until it dies. it is THE saddest thing I ever seen in a cartoon or movie.
+Becca Seguin - You are so right! That most certainly did happen in real life - The American version is called "Hachiko - A Dog's Tale" it's a true story, everyday "Hachi" would walk the Professor to the train station in the morning and see him off, then go back home, and 5:00pm he would return to the train station, he would sit and wait for the Professor and they would walk home together. One morning right before the Professor got on the train he said "I'll see you tonight." The Professor died of a Brain Aneurysm while teaching that day and never returned home (obviously) but Haichi arrived everyday and every night at the same time waiting for this owner to come home for 10 years, until Hachi himself dies. It's a great movie, but get your tissues out - because you will cry like a baby - I do every time.

Mufasa’s death always gives me chills. Every time
Yes. You're not alone

Dammit Disney, you're really pushing the limits of your "G-Rated" movies.
I seriously died of sadness when Ellie died....
I agree. I honestly thought that should be number one. 😩😩
+Allison Combs i thought it should be How to train your dragon 2 who would be number one
+Allison Combs not trying to be rude but number one is always the one that is not sad
