Hi Zara! Lovely videoooo. I have a question, so you said you don't really like touching and physical contact and i wonder to what extent? So for example do you mind hugs? Does it depend (if so, on what)? Just curious ❤

I saw that goose on Amazon, and I almost immediately bought it! My heath has just been getting worse, and I have to go back to the doctor tomorrow. I have chronic nausea and fatigue, and I’ve already missed school because of it. I think im getting a brain scan. Seeing you be so happy is like a ray of light!! I love your channel so much! You are truly amazing!🩵🩵🎀🩷

With my FND the cold ALWAYS triggers my tics. They get so much worse. And if I get over stimulated it makes my tics worse too! Love this video, Erin is so cool :)

I'm autistic and started getting tics 1 year ago when I was 19. My tics always get worse when I am stressed or overwhelmed, which then can make me more anxious if I am in a public place. During and after a meltdown I also tic more.

I'm 15, and I started getting tics in April. I haven't been officially diagnosed with autism, but my therapist and I suspect that I'm autistic. I used to think my tics were covert stims, but I found out that covert stims are voluntary, like other stims, but you don't realize you're stimming. On the other hand, tics are involuntary. My tics and anxiety often run in a vicious cycle. My anxiety causes my tics, and my tics cause my anxiety. It gets really frustrating sometimes. I only have a couple different tics, and I don't meet the criteria to be diagnosed with Tourette's

im so pleased you answered my question!!! I found this video so interesting hearing other people’s experiences with tics, ocd, autism because i found it so hard being ‘on my own’ with ocd because i don’t think many people understand how hard it is. thank you for - well i don’t really know what to thank you for - but thank you for just talking about it - it makes me feel so seen 😊😀⭐️

I always find it comforting to hear other disabled people say that school isn't everything. I have autism, ADHD, a psych said I probably have a learning disorder, a mystery health issue that I'm going on year two investigating, and a plethora of mental health issues, and I genuinely don't know if college is for me at this point. I'm going to give it an honest try, but having heard so many other disabled people say that they dropped out of college and got by alright, I'm not going to push myself to my absolute breaking point before admitting that something isn't working. Thank you both for the extra reassurance

also, i just wanted to take the time to tell you how much you’ve helped me learn to accept myself. i’m still very much on the journey (currently self diagnosing with autism and a few mental health things because of nhs waiting lists lol) but your videos give me hope for what my life could look like in the future :) also your videos are just… idk what it is about your voice or something but it makes me feel seen and safe.
also since it was mentioned in the video i’ll put my special interests here because i want someone to infodump to lol: classical music (playing instruments, theory and history, composing etc), autism and neurodivergence, LGBTQ+ identities, drawing, words and language, and the dark academia aesthetic

    Hey Zara,
Good video, thanks for sharing and thanks that you showed your tics and Erin's tics. It was educadional to see!
I'm autistic and my school experiences were not the best(also not the worst), but i was lucky that i had/have a lovely mom who helped me a lot during school, making it a bit easier for me. Also, i was lucky that i (most of it) was just myself and didn't act (to) different to fit in with the rest. I believe for me that was because of my autism, i didn't know else than to be myself (most of it).💪❤🧡💛💚💙💜
    Greetings to you and Erin!!🥰

Oh damn (sry for multiple comments) but same! Heat and humidity are my worst meltdown triggers! I have literally moved all over this country(US)looking for a climate I can stand. (I was raised in Florida ffs and no one knew I was autistic. The endless heat-induced meltdowns were all punished as “tantrums”.) I’d live in the Arctic if I could 😅😊

I have questions I forgot to ask.
    1. How do you know you are about to tic?
    2. How does it feel when you are about to tic?
    3. Do tics get worse as you age? (There is a teen who has like the worst tourettes case and when she was about 7 when she had a simple blinking tic)

Q; What did accommodations look like for you when you were taking your maths exams specifically? I am currently completing the equivalent of your college education level via distance ed due to my health. I have been unable to handwrite for the past two years due to sever tics when attempting to (which is soooo frustrating) and I have no idea what accommodations to ask for with my upcoming maths exam. I already have approval for typing (thank goodness), but no clue what would be helpful for math, and my school haven't got any suggestions either. I currently type them out using a math program on my laptop, but it is EXTREMELY SLOW!
Thank you so much for all your content, awareness and authenticity Zara. I have been a silent views for a couple of years now and love and appreciate everything you do with your platform. I have found so much comfort in your content whilst navigating a complex medical journey in a world that isn't designed to support invisible illnesses. 🧡🌻

4:46 a question: while you may know when you have a tic tic'ing, how do u distinguish the tics of new friends (with tourettes) from actual deliberate responses?
assuming a neutral, peaceful environment, a random "duck off" could be contextualised as a tic. how would you exercise this same discernment in a more tense environment?

Thank you for the informative video! 🫶
I have severe psychotic depression (anxiety included) and I’m neurodivergent. My brain is my biggest troll as I have auditory hallucinations so They tell me I’m making it up, exaggerating symptoms, it’s not that bad, etc. Then I hit crisis point and mental health services/hospitals says the same thing.
A CAMHS nurse/care coordinator once told me I’m a disappointment to my family with how I’m acting. Obviously that comment didn’t make me feel any better. I have so little trust in medical professionals now, I just don’t interact with them. I will never go to get medical help unless someone makes me because I know I won’t be believed, told it’s not as bad as I’m making it out to be, others have it worse, etc.
