Yikes, I've literally done more laps at Laguna Seca than any other track (I used to come home from work and do 50 laps in Assetto Corsa in an FRS, probably a couple thousand total) and I've never gotten it right. Intimidating week coming up for slow ol me but we'll see how it goes! Another great video, thank you!
What times you getting? Im late this week only started today, got 1.38.8 in a race .. can do 1.39.5 consistently.. but struggling here so far, something will click over the weekend I'm sure, the tip about the tree on corkscrew is great in this vid
@@Wallzey1 In races in usually mid 1:39s, and occasionally I sneak some super fast laps in at low 1:38. It's usually when I'm chasing the fastest guy in the race, and right before I spin lol. Fwiw, my irating is floating around 1250 this week.
@@Wallzey1 Jared Gould3 in iracing if you want to add a friend. Don't wear the headset much but maybe I'll start. Seems like we'll probably end up in some races together.
You make driving these tracks look so smooth - I really need to get to that place in my racing..I feel like I’m always on the edge of losing the car :(
same I feel this a lot I get 1:38-1:40s I feel the only turns I can really see a lot of improvement is the turn before the commitment turn and the second turn
Love your videos my man. One quick watch gets me the track layout, braking points and most importantly what curbs to avoid. Driving lines obviously vary due to driving style, but one watch and a few laps gets me exactly where I need to be. Appreciate the time put into each video.
This track just reminded me that "slow is smooth and smooth is fast." I can barely string 3 laps together in practice without crashing, but I can finish a race clean and with better lap times because I take the time to be smooth. I fight between trying to make my inputs match yours exactly and just sitting back and seeing the course. Your braking points are like a goal, and eventually they start to meet up. Very rewarding! Oh, and 3rd gear for turn 9. Got it!
WOWOW! I "warmed up" for 3 races and then won my first 2 races (since COVID) back to back! Your videos really give me the confidence to practice laps with proven shift and brake points and such instead of endlessly changing it up. Love it! Edit: And I haven't seen your video on pit exit but I think I'm faster there than anywhere!
Awesome guide. I've been stuck in the low 1:38's when pushing hard. However when I try to widen the track at turn 2 (double apex corner) I always get an off track when dropping two tires past the white line.

You might go outside the line to soon, there is an offtrack at the end of the cerb or is it later you are getting it?
Yep...That's my home track. Good job!
Good luck this week lads!
How do you consistently hit braking percentages? Btw thx for your data on Driver61
As much as I can, but with my pedals it can be hard for me to the same always, I need one with more pressure against my foot, I need it more stiff
how to do you get numbers to appear above the pedals
Are you using the same overlay app?
It is racelap apps :)
Awesome, thank you
Do you run with auto blipping?
No i blip myself
@@Erilla01Is it faster at all once you’re good at it? Does anyone know the answer? Compared to autoblip..
@@Rhythmic_Hammer I think its faster and more reliable, becuase if you dont need to blip then the car will rotate more
i been playing 3 days and got 1:41:37 idk how ill drop 4 seconds lmao
Practice and it will come in time
Thanks for the video :) btw the thumbnail you write is 1:31 😂
