Don’t you hate it when those pesky front bumper clips break on your s550. Well, we have a quick, easy solution for you.
Hey guys, Jason here from Dallas Mustang. You’ll start to notice that the clips that hold your s550’s front bumper cover easily break or become brittle and will no long hold the body panel in place, we recommend using these quik latch mini’s. It’s a cheap and easy work around for a problem that could amount to hundreds of dollars.
Start by removing the front fascia from where it meets the front fender. You will see a black plastic piece with two bolts that will need to be removed for this install.
Insert the post provided in the quik latch packaging and tighten the two nuts on either side of the fender down. Make sure you do not over tighten the post with your rachet, since most likely you will need to readjusted later in the install.
Measure the distance from end of the headlight to the post and the top of the fender to the post giving you a cross section you can mark on your bumper cover.
We use painters tape to cover the area where will we will be drilling the front bumper cover. This allows us not only to easily see our measurement marks but also helps keep the paint from chipping where you are drilling. Drill your pilot hole where you made your marks.
Use a step down drill bit to open the hole up big enough to fit the latch portion provided in the quik latch kit. Be very careful in the step and take your time, you do not want to cause any damage to the paint.
Once you have finished with these steps pull the painters tape off and clean up the hole you just drilled. Make sure that the post lines up with the center of the hole
This is when you will make any adjustments needed to the post and tighten it down.
Now you will push the latch portion through the hole you just created and tighten it down with the provided nut.
Finally, line your front bumper cover up and push inward to snap your newly installed quik latch fix in place. It just takes a few minutes and proper measurement to easily fix your front fascia.

Thank god I ran into you guys as my GF just went over the curb and broke one whole side of my clips without damaging the exterior side of the front lower bumper and now there's nothing for the bumper to hold onto but lucky me I just found you!
Glad we can help!
Dude same! Now all i need to do is buy the plastic bolts on the bottom cover
Does anyone know what they are called
You need to normalize your volume levels. The narrator is super quiet while the intro nearly blows your speakers after adjusting the volume for the narrator. Fire your video editor.
Thanks for the good information, I'll give him his walking papers today
Dallas Mustang Parts four months later and still isn't fixed
Can't hear a dam thing!!!!
@@Dallasmustang lmfaoo
Dam a bunch of old men whining about audio shut the hell up 😂😂
Fast and easy to follow. Worked like a charm! Thanks
You just saved me over $600
I like how the paint had multiple cracks after he used the step bit lol.
We did not have any cracks in the paint so not sure where you are seeing that, check out our instagram or facebook for multiple photos on this car with the quik latch installed!
Dallas Mustang Parts Between 0:20 and 0:21, and 1:37-1:38 there’s a couple cracks in the paint visible in the light reflection. But they are actually present before the hole was drilled now that I look again.
@@SylasG haha I definitely saw those too and had to rewind it and laugh. Love how they never responded to your last comment 🤣
I fcked up somehow and drilled the hole too low and had a big gap, had to buy a new bumper :(
Thanks guys.
Thankyou soo much!!!
Anyone know how to install on 2018+ ? Mounting point is not the same.
What size of step down drill bit is needed?
3/4 inch I believe
cant you just replace the bracket?
It’s not the bracket that breaks usually. Usually it’s the piece on your actual bumper that’s weak and breaks
Where can I buy this latch
We sell this latch online or in the store. www.dallasmustang.com/quik-latch-mini-latch-2015-2018-1-inch-black.html
Did nobody watch this before posting it? Lol absolutely terrible sound. Thumbs down!
Yup the sound is not at the greatest, if you read the previous comments, we did fire our video editor at Jesse Shanks request!
Dallas Mustang Parts we're all car guys here. Just busting balls like we always do
I agree, that why if you see that Jesse suggested that we fire out the editor and I told him we will give him his walking papers today! :D its all in good fun, we honestly tried to make this video with our phone before we got any video camera equipment a year ago.
Dallas Mustang Parts this was done on a phone? If so, it came out extremely well. This video convinced me to purchase this part over any rubber band kit
Haha, ya it was made with iphone 7 and imovie...in Jan 2018 we finally purchased a DSLR and editing software (not that we got much better in making movies, lol). I'm glad it helped you out for sure!
Damn wasn't even latched when he pushed it in lol fail .
Not sure what you are looking at
He's looking at the video you posted
but. that's hideous!
Depends on who you are of course! That's why they make chocolate and vanilla! We here prefer cookie dough though!
I also think i rather have the gap then that fix lol
But it can be easily painted the color of the car and that small gap slowly but surely turns into the bumper not clipping at all. Then you have a hanging bumper so you have options. Buy a new bumper and paint it for $700+, leave it hanging, or buy these clips and install them painted or not for under $100.
@@jody_jo5.054
So your bumper can fall off on the road? Thats $700 for a bumper
Jeff Horn King Of Pinoyz _ the bumper will not fall off since it’s bolted it’s just the clips that help align it with the body of the car. I wouldn’t recommend doing this to your mustang at all
hmm. looks complicated.
thats a bullshit fix
