Being a car audio installer myself, I was cringing....physically twisting my body lol....as I saw the first piece...then second...etc....go back on WITHOUT testing out the new cluster first! Especially even stating several times that the plug may have damage but very unlikely unable to work, could still simply not get seated properly. Look how many steps he would have to go through just to get back to that. With the potential to break any of those parts again. "It's best to test before putting back the rest" Corny but has saved me so many labor commissions because you don't get paid to take something back apart that's your fault for not testing. I know the battery is disconnected but unless it specifically says DO NOT POWER ON WITHOUT AIRBAG INSTALLED, test first, or at least call the manufacturer before starting the job. "Hey. Is it ok for me to reconnect the battery and test this new console before completely reinstalling the the entire dash?" Well worth the time to call, and get the person's name you spoke too, and just good CYA (Cover Your A$$) practices! Like Cameron said, this isn't being negative but I'm positive that it's worth talking about! LOL!
@@justinmurphy2227 it's a ford vehicle you can disconnect the airbag and run it without worrying about codes that won't clear themselves after reinstalling the airbag.

I didn't know how far Ford's CPU/ECU's have advanced and in what ways. I've went from a 3.0 to 5.0 and now I'm going to 2.3 turbo. I just can't decide if I want to do a 2.3 Duratec, built and turbo'd, vs a 2.3 Ecoboost stock out of a Mustang with minimal addons as it's safe tuned power (400ish WHP) is all I want. It's a Ranger....not a future "crowd controller" with a shovel aka it's bed. LOL.
@@justinmurphy2227 np, I recently picked up an ex intercepter 2005 mustang with the v6 that comes chipped and cammed from factory. I'm thinking about putting a supercharger on it. In my personal opinion I'd go for the stock mustang motor and put a supercharger on it, costs a bit more but you get way more power in the low end and no turbo lag.

I have this on my 2019 Mustang GT Premium 5.0 and I made sure to purchase it with this gauge cluster 12in LCD screen and I have to say that it is an awesome feature to have it looks amazing and in my opinion it is totally worth it. Didn't know they had a kit to modify the old cluster to this new one. Great Video.
What's weird is that my 2018 evoboost premium seems to have all the cool stuff except for the shaker speakers and this cluster....i really like the cluster ir came with tho
It's nice to see the ODO doesn't reset and not stored physicall on the old Speedometer! Nice job Ford! I see many cars where if you change the Speedo, the ODO reading is lost and back to 0 on the new one!
That's so sick! Pricey at $2k but looks to be worth it if you have the scratch. Wish more companies would do this for late model year cars of all sorts!
I got my 2016 GT PP1 last week and I'll probably do this mod at some point but not very high priority on all the things I want to do first quality wheels and tires (not that cheap crap on the car now), full car polish and PPF, repairs/maintenance where needed, some small cosmetic/accessories stuff, spare 19inch wheel, sort out the MT82 issues etc etc after all that it will be stuff like the digital dash
I love these type of mods. Looks 100% better. I would have probably combined this with a steering wheel project being I had to take the wheel out, because I have to make my projects complicated lol.
I just got my 2023 mustang GT with the 401A package (which includes the digital cluster) and it is absolutely AMAZING! It does feel like you’re driving a super car or something. I also have the 10spd automatic. I know some of you will be like oh no you should have gotten the manual. But I drove a manual and I’m telling you what the power between the manual and automatic is INSANE! The automatic is WAYYYY FASTER! It’s also SOOO MUCH MORE FUN! the different drive modes actually feel different when using them. On the manual it all feels the same except the steering feel. I have always had manual mustangs but after driving the 10spd I fell in love and will never have another manual sport car. We live in a time where the automatics are insanely faster than the manual! Plus if you wanna be lazy and put it in comfort mode then you can do that. Would be kinda hard to do that with a manual. Great video bro! #MUSTANGFAMILY

Your frustration and excitement gave me the courage to do it on my own and after a few pinched fingers and missing bolts later, my mustang is looking better.

I actually optioned mine with this same digital dash as I live in Australia, it would've been the biggest pain in the arse organising to have one sent out from the U.S.. Also I definitely wouldn't have the stones to take to my dash with a dremmil. Anyway I just wanted to say thank you for such a refreshing and informative channel, very relaxed, clear and knowledgeable. The Mustang has a huge following over here in Australia and for good reason. My next one will definitely be the GT 500 Shelby in another 2 years
Glad to find someone using this infotainment's products. I own a 2015 Edge sport and the only down side for me is My Ford Touch system, unfortunately I can't just update it to the new Sync 3 due to the hardware upgrades that Ford made. I found about this companies(Infotainment and 4D Tech ) that sell the updated head unit so I can have Sync 3 on my car but I am a little skeptical about it because is really really hard to find videos like this one...real person using the product and kinda reviewing it and giving his or her impression of it. You can only find comments on their websites (good comments only of course) and UA-cam videos published by the companies themselves with 0 comments and some cases the comment section is even disable and I am the kind of person that like to hear a 3rd party's opinion specially if I'm about to spend over 2k. I know that people might say "just trade it in for a 2016 model" but I am happy with y car and I don't really want to do that...but at the same time the unit I am looking for cost 2k if you want it with GPS and Satellite radio enable and Im not really sure about installing that myself if I end up buying it.
SIck car man, I think the LCD is worth it. Something to think about - black lugnuts. Super cheap and I have them on mine. Really makes a huge difference in the look of the wheel.
I just built/installed a tablet-based system I my 06 V6 Mustang, using RealDash. I hooked my tablet to USB power via a step-down converter, then using the ACC ON power to set a macros to both start AND shut it down w/ key on/off. All indicators work except my blinkers (If you know the Ford extended PIDs/Mode 22 PIDs, please share!)... so I custom installed two LED blinkers (ran from the front bumper) in my dash that illuminate the corners of my dash bezel in an underglow style left or right, as operated by the normal turn signal switch. Tablet runs via Bluetooth/OBDII port. All in? maybe 150 bucks? And it works flawlessly.
You are so fortunate to 1. have the craftsmanship to do this 2. the patience to do this and 3. to nail that on the first try with no problems. I want this led cluster so bad for my 2019 base model ecoboost. Do you think it will still be compatible? I hope to get this cluster and find someone who can install it for me for a price.

Yeah I see where you are coming from, but you have to consider this. It's 2200, you can buy so many other mods that are going to be much more useful and overall better than just a gauge cluster. I totally agree that it looks cool, but it's a really expensive cosmetic. Buying iphones, ipads, etc. are things you kind of need. Unless you want to be really outdated and cheap, then yeah go ahead and buy a flip phone. But, honestly I don't think you can compare this $2k+ gauge cluster to people buying iphones and ipads.

I would look at it as a investment over time. If your going to keep the car for 4 years, £2k over 4 years isn't much. After all it is a mod you look at every time you drive.

Yeah I have one an (MBRP AXLE BACK) in my 2019 GT paired with a roush-x pipe and let me tell you. It turns heads quick and will make folks behind you and in front of you think the coyotes are pissed off. People will hear you coming and will be like dammmnn. It’s loud my not an annoying loud. A serious aggressive muscle car loud. I’ve had folks ask me after hearing it if I did cams or did a tune and I’ve done neither yet.

If you swap out the wheel i think you lose some functionality like switching of the ambient lighting and some other stuff. Matt Farah talked about this in his onetakes
Din Miftari but it’s upgrades like this that don’t justify trading in a ‘15 for a 18+ Mustang. Like my ‘15 is paid off so I rather spend the money doing upgrades like these instead of trading in.

My wife's 2020 Escape SE Sport Hybrid has the all digital gauge cluster and I made sure that was mandatory when I was buying a GT.
You should use a torque wrench for the steering wheel bolt.

Yeah I have one an (MBRP AXLE BACK) in my 2019 GT paired with a roush-x pipe and let me tell you. It turns heads quick and will make folks behind you and in front of you think the coyotes are pissed off. People will hear you coming and will be like dammmnn. It’s loud my not an annoying loud. A serious aggressive muscle car loud. I’ve had folks ask me after hearing it if I did cams or did a tune and I’ve done neither yet.

If you swap out the wheel i think you lose some functionality like switching of the ambient lighting and some other stuff. Matt Farah talked about this in his onetakes
Din Miftari but it’s upgrades like this that don’t justify trading in a ‘15 for a 18+ Mustang. Like my ‘15 is paid off so I rather spend the money doing upgrades like these instead of trading in.
