You sir, actually know every inch of your car. No ego , just car talk. Good luck with your channel. This will be the first channel to hit 500K with no exotic cars just passion. I dont even own a car yet :)
So I wasn't the only one to notice that. It seems to be an American thing to needlessly say "go ahead and" in the middle of nearly every sentence. In England we would say "Remove these six bolts, now you can remove this panel, then you'll be able to disconnect the electrical connector", whereas Americans would typically say "Go ahead and remove these six bolts, now you can go ahead and remove this panel, then you'll be able to go ahead and disconnect the electrical connector"...LOL
Love this channel because he edits it so well and continues talking without stutter. Fully goes into detail as to what he's doing and his reason for it. Puts in music when needed and a calm personality.
Great video as usual...BUT, never use heat guns on your headlight unless you HAVE to. For example, light too big to fit in the oven. Even then, put them in a big box, and use the heat gun to warm up the inside of the box (there is more to it than just putting the light in a box and putting the tip of the heat gun there, but thats the basics). A beginner on this job will screw this up using a heat gun. Plus, those lights are permasealed. They dont come apart as easy as butyl closed headlights. For permasealed lights, 220-230 for 15 min. As long as the light isn't touching any metal, they will NOT melt. Have built countless lights, and a good 20 of those sets. And dam, you struggled pulling those lens off the housing. I was cringing waiting for the lens to snap lol. Diode Dynamics product is great stuff. Use their stuff a lot as well as Morimoto stuff.
MrDaavee do you lay aluminum foil in a baking sheet? I’ve done 2 sets of headlights successfully and one I melted my lens lol I search and search for new tips and your seems to be best, what about taillights? Just cut back housing and reseal using epoxy mix?
i lay the lights on a piece of wood. The wood is a great insulator to keep the direct heat from the burner/element away from the headlight and off the metal racking of the oven, but still allow it to properly heat up. If you have that fan in the back of your oven, make sure that is off lol. For permasealed headlights, like (GM, Ford and Dodge), lower temps for longer periods of time works for me. Every retrofitter has their own way of doing things. I do 220-230 for 15 min for permasealed lights. 250-260 for 7 minutes for butyl lights (honda, hyundai). Most tail lights have to be cut open, then epoxy back together, or plastic weld (what ever works best for you) then siliconed up. Use quality stuff. I go so far as to lay tape on either sides of the cuts before i silicone. That way when the sealant is laid down, and pressed it, i remove the tape leaving a thin silicone line that is almost laser straight. Only a few tails can be baked open, or even unscrewed apart. Older cars like the 70s. Few newer ones can too. Like the R35 GTR.
I feel like if you titled this "how to change your 2015 - 2017 mustang head lights" you could help so many ppl. Its one of the best tutorials on UA-cam
good tutorial video man.I have been doing custom headlights (car audio design and custom fab work/installation) since 1997 and I always tell people how easy it really is to DIY.I think Most people are scared they will crack the headlight glass/plastic.Your video should help car guys and girls get over that fear.Nice job man
Ok I am literally doing this she thing to my 2015 GT. Thank God you did this first. Thank you for a very clear video on how to do it. Wish me luck..lol
Thank you for the clear explanation on how to remove the headlights. I have a detail job coming up on a Mustang and I wanted to get the headlights out, polish them up and ceramic coat them.
you forgot to mention the 2 wheel well bolts. I imagine a couple people broke those clean off after watching this lol. that being said this is the most detailed and high quality video I've found on retrofitting s550 headlights.
Glad I found this channel! Thanks for taking the time to provide great Mustang content. I got my popcorn ready waiting for the next Roush Supercharger mod update.
I am a New subscriber, made it official today.. love your channel bro however I do not own a mustang. I'm still a part of the ford family with my RS though!! Much love from arizona!!
Awesome video man. Great job going to look pretty slick must say ... my 10 year old little girl said there going to look bomb btw. Can’t wait to see done
Thanks for introducing me to this company! I was thinking about doing an HID conversion on my 08 RAM, looks like they got what I need! Might do the RGB Conversion on my next car too. Thinking about getting an 18 Charger Scat pack...and wouldn't you know it, they have a kit for that! Awesome!
I just used duplicolor "rattle can" paint 3 coats and 2 clears and looks like it was meant to be that way Helps to slightly sand the inside of the headlight surfaces also to help paint stick
I can see spending hours adding a blower or other useful modifications but I wouldn't waste 10 minutes of my time doing this - but that is just my opinion. That said, very informative video. You did a great job explaining the removal process. Very detailed
How do you make it look so easy..? I’ve been wanting to do this since I got mine last July, been scared to take the headlight apart. Shit I didn’t even know how to actually take the bumper off. I thought it would’ve been harder than that 🤦🏻♂️ thank god for these tutorials. Love the vids
I just did this on my ford falcon, absolute crap of a job haha. My oven wasn't big enough either so I used the bbq outside.(which also made the missus happier than me using the oven) 100 degrees Celsius for about 5-6 minutes and they came apart easy enough. I also didn't remove the old sealant,mi added fresh sealant where it seemed thin but I just put the reassembled lights back in the bbq to heat up the old sealant and pushed them back together hard. So far no sign of any moisture issues and my car sits outside 24/7.
I put the oven on 160 and bake headlights on a small towel for 12 minutes all while the oven is at temp. I have done this dozens of times to motorcycle headlights to put angle eyes, halo’s or led strips inside the housing.
Seems like a scary thing for people with little to none experience with stuff like that. Lol I know I don't and would for sure mess something up. Great video!
By the way, here is the kit that I am going to be running in my headlights!

Not planning on doing headlights, but I do watch to support the channel

Nobody cares about your opinion
So a like from 6 and 46 others determines that is a lie
bruh i don’t even have a mustang 😂
Same lmaoo
Take a shot every time he says: "go ahead"
So I wasn't the only one to notice that.

Dang you do everything yourself. You're a real man
What? Literally in this video he said he would take the chrom thingys to the shop to get them painted...
I was always told if you can't work on it you shouldn't own it
A cool-car owner that actually works on his car.
Nice.

Very good tips!
i was just gonna suggest this, seen to make mistakes with heat guns
Awesome comment and video

Just like every car you've owned it will be unique just like the camaro and the vette was
I feel like if you titled this "how to change your 2015 - 2017 mustang head lights" you could help so many ppl. Its one of the best tutorials on UA-cam
Never thought I would watch ANY build from a Ford car but damn you make this car look good. Much respect from a Civic owner.

I just got quoted $900 by a shop in Louisiana to do all of this that you did. Will end up TRYING to do it myself lol
I can see spending hours adding a blower or other useful modifications but I wouldn't waste 10 minutes of my time doing this - but that is just my opinion. That said, very informative video. You did a great job explaining the removal process. Very detailed
I love the vids man, they are always great. You are the best!

I put the oven on 160 and bake headlights on a small towel for 12 minutes all while the oven is at temp. I have done this dozens of times to motorcycle headlights to put angle eyes, halo’s or led strips inside the housing.

There’s 12mins of my life that I’ll never get back
Quality video again, can't wait till those views lead to you getting a garage to work on the Mustang :)
Ohhh man I remember doing this on my buddys S550 that permaseal is no joke.
I just bought a 2020 GT. I’m not mechanically inclined... should I even attempt this. You made it look easy but I’m not confident in the slightest.
Best way to learn is to try, worst thing that can happen is you replace the headlights 🤷🏻♂️
You remind me of Chris Fix in this video lol. Great content! 👍
You the best youtuber! (:
Awesome Bro. You sound like Chris Fix while removing those hahahaha.
Seems like a scary thing for people with little to none experience with stuff like that. Lol I know I don't and would for sure mess something up. Great video!
AWESOME right to the point!!
