That is a beautiful looking guitar. I also love the fact that you're not a gear snob and are willing to try out cheaper gear even if it doesn't work out in the end.
You’ve got a great channel here mate. I hope it keeps growing. Amazing video. So instructive and informative for what, in my opinion, is a very confusing marketplace at times.
I'm a single humbucker single volume type of player so I always save money by only needing one pickup and one pot not to mention I mostly stick to hard tail guitars. So I can put the budget towards nicer bridge and tuners and stuff like that
The bridge pickup might have sounded crap due to the 250k pots. I had a similar thing when changing my strats bridge and neck to hot rail style pickups. As soon as I went to 500k they were much better
5:11 That neck would pair nicely with a Guitar Fetish XPG Polar White Tele Body! Could be a Budget build on your channel. I bought that same body and absolutely love it! Well made and just barely over $80 USD!
Bourns electronics is the way to go. Their pots are the same size as alfa pots. You can't go wrong with their parts. Try Australian Brand JJ'S pickups. View Brett Kingmans videos on these pups.
Those are very likely Artecs, I just got a set of Tele Alnico V big poles for $30US. Their various split coil PBass pickups are shockingly good, as good as Toneriders.
Btw. What would be the difference on getting fender branded locking tuners for 70dollars and 15dollars non branded ones on eBay? Just curious since I got cheap eBay ones and they lock the strings.. no problems the past 5 years. Is there any benefit?
Mostly a quality thing, Fender aren't the best out there but certainly not the worst. If you can find $15 tuners than are equally as good then that's the way to go. I like the cheap stuff too 😜
Sooo good video. Will you post more long vids? I need more! I love that style and content. It show me that i should not be afraid of experiments ah i just wants to go and mod something :D
Absolutely yes! I'm trying every week or at least every two weeks depending on how fast I can work on the guitars. Should be another one coming this Sunday that's pretty crazy haha
Nice build! I have one question: how much do you like the Pau Ferro fretboard? I have bought a Mexican Duo Sonic with Pau Ferro and it was so "dry" feeling (even after lemon oil treatment) and I wasn't able to get rid of that feeling it somehow stops my fingers on vibrato etc. I sold the guitar just because of the fretboard. Rosewood is my favourite (tone-wise).
You know I don't mind the Pau Ferro, I've been lucky not to have the issues with it that you had, which sounds terrible 😞 BUT I'm on your side, there's no real replacement for proper rosewood. I am a fan of ebony too but apples and oranges really. The Pau Ferro on this one feels and plays just fine thankfully. I've probably not owned the same Pau Ferro one for long enough though to know over time how that goes!
it's a good thing I didn't go for that bridge pickup for my brother's guitar when I was upgrading it last year. all the reviews that I've seen for that hotrail pickups talk about how they're not that clear and very "muddy" sounding on high gain. that neck pickup with the big pole pieces though, I think Artec makes those and I think they're south korean and some of their humbuckers are found on some Epiphone electric guitars! I'm considering buying Artec's humbucker sized P90 for the bridge and that exact neck pickup in the video for my strat and that'll probably cost me like $28-30 for both😂
Buy a second-hand Squier tele for under 200 and get it setup well. Snobs will use a logical fallacy where they constantly rationalize their (often increasing) investments, but really it does not have to cost more than that. The problem with spending 500+ pounds on a partscaster is that you can never even remotely get close to that value back, which is not true for the 200 Squier Telecaster.
Well that's true if you're trying to profit or sell it on but a £600 partscaster Vs a £600 Fender and there's way more value for money! Although I do agree, a £200 Squier can be superb too!
@@Giant_Guitars I made a parts telecaster that cost me well over 700 that wound up underperforming compared to my 200 squier tele, maybe i got lucky, but thats my point to everyone out there on the lookout for a great guitar, try a few, get lucky ! I will say this for partscasters, to a player, the connection he forges with his instrument over time, is priceless, and being involved in the creation of ur own instrument definitely contributes to a strong(er) connection, so like you said, if you keep it and play it, its can def be worth it. Nice build.

Thanks bud yeah I love to find the cheap stuff because I feel that it opens up the possibilities to most people then

Thanks Justin, I'm trying! I think the videos are getting better as I go so it's nice to read this kind of comment on one of my older ones
Tele is a very simple guitar, it is much easier to maintain for me, two pickups, a 3-way switch, one volume and one tone control 🤩
Totally, it was my go to guitar as a teenager so they've always stuck with me
That is a beautiful guitar! Nicely done. Can't wait to hear it!
Thanks bud, it's currently on loan to Twitch streamer Courtnay, she uses it almost every stream 👌

I never thought about that! Half the cost!

Awesome advice bud, I didn't even think of that. Thank you!!
Love your builds, man 👏
Thanks bud 🙏 it's much appreciated!

Oh thanks I will go check that out now!
Well done…I have a dimarzio tone zone rail p/u in a FGN style tele and it freakin rocks👍
Great job. Keep it up.
Personally I would just add a bigsby trem and a splittable neck humbucker
My only question is why did you get a single coil when the body is routed for a humbucker at the neck.
I just fancied the single on this one. My newest Tele has the humbucker in the neck!
I have never used them, but I hear lots of good things about Tone Rider pickups. They are cheap and are decent.
I love that gold sparkle
Me too 😁
thanks for the lesson.
beautiful guitar, you could´ve got some wilkinson tele pickups for almost the same price, and they sound amazing imo
Good to know mate thank you 😀 I'll check them out.

I love the color of that guitar!!
Nice work dude
Thanks bud, pleased with this one!
I’m still finishing off my White / Golden Tele …. Having watched your video, I’m gonna swap out the input jack also … it seems simple enough ;0)
@@Damos720 Super easy bud, definitely do it
