- I had this old Telecaster body and neck that has been hanging around in my shop for many years. I received it from a friend who started finishing it, but lost interest in the project. I decided to strip off the old finish and bring it back to life. Join me as I completely overhaul this Tele partscaster build and make it a great player once again! Thanks for watching.

The most detailed build I ever saw. Amazing. 🎉

Only thing missing is a demo! But that was really a pleasure to watch 😁
Thanks for watching Graeme! I actually have a video demo of the guitar on my channel (link below)! Check it out. 😊

Yes it was. Wouldn't mind having one of those either.
Very well done , beautiful guitar!!

That’s a classy telecaster!
Incredible attention to detail, to a stunning instrument. Bravo!

I'm not even a fan of Teles but that might be the sexiest Tele build i've seen. Congrats, my friend!
Thanks Gus! 🤘🏻

Exquisite work
Thanks a bunch! Turned out pretty great. 😊
Hi. This is a masterpiece worthy of maestro Stradivari. I'm sure Mr. Leo Fender would be proud of you, and your masterpiece - The "DARK BEAUTY", my dear "brother in arms". Best regards from Italy, from an old Telecasterman.😍👍🎸
Thank you so much for the kind words Damir!! ❤️

That dark finish makes for a great look. Reminds me of Harrison's Rosewood Telecaster. Beautiful.
Thank you! 😊
Awesome.

Thank you! 🤘🏻
The beginning sanding/filing gave me Veritas Portlander vibes. Very nice!
Those are beautiful guitars!!!! Quite the compliment, thanks for watching 😊
Lovely
Thanks John! 😊
Very satisfying to watch.
Thanks for watching Ernest!
piece of art!
Thank you!
Beautiful man! imagine a version of this with contoured neck heel and vegatrem tremolo 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Paolo! Hope you enjoyed the video. After I finished the build I wish I would have used a contoured heel plate instead of the blocky one..... Maybe in the future I'll change it lol. I also love Vega trems!!! I've used them in a few past builds. 🙂
Perfect guitar for me. One thing I would change is a reverse headstock. I’m a telecaster man mainly but I always miss the contours of a strat just like this guitar. Beautiful.
I love me a reverse headstock!! Such a cool look lol. I feel it though… Strats are just so comfortable to hold and play.
masterpiece
Thank you! 😊
Really good 👍
Thank you!! 😊
Very nice!
Thank you! 😊
Bueno muy bueno, good for you. Gracias por tu video.
Very nice
Thank you!
I really like your choices here on a tele. Belly cut, some contouring, dark walnut stain, natural finish on the body and neck (smooth un-glossed neck), hipshot bridge & locking tuners. Really nice! I'm going to build a kit (Precision guitars) similar to what you have done here. I'm thinking a Honduran mahagony body and flame maple neck and fingerboard. A subtle yin/yang (dark and light) such as what you have done. Staggered tuners to avoid the string trees. I'm inspired now. Thank you for showing me the way.
Thank you!! Really happy with the choices I went with. Those Precision kits are nice! Very high quality stuff. The flame maple neck is a nice visual upgrade too. Feel free to send some pictures over when you finish it!
I also have a full playlist showing the whole build process of this Tele. If you get stuck along the way, let me know. Always happy to help. Thanks for watching! 😊

Wonderful! I never get tired of watching teles. What is ASMR?
Thanks Chris! ASMR stands for autonomous sensory meridian response. Its a type of video/audio genre for people who like audio/visual stimulants that can have calming affects.
Sublime.
Thank you! 😊
perfect
Thank you!
Awesome! Who knew this was your first build. P.S. Scared me with the white nut. Lol
lol!! Thanks for watching 😊
That fret tang jig is amazing! So simple but so effective. I'm definitely building one of these for myself :)
It saves TONS of time… especially when working with stainless steel frets lol.. well worth the money/time investment!!!
Isn't a nipper much more simpler and faster?
@@LelleKidd Not for stainless steel frets! This jig not only cuts the tang, it also files it down perfect. With a nipper, you still have to clean up a bit of the tang with a set of files. This jig does it both in one shot which saves a lot of time and produces a perfect result every time.
this is amazing.so beautiful 😍
Thanks for watching!!! Happy with how it turned out 😊
Yes you can!
Beautiful build!
I have done one myself in the past year. Very quality work and attention to detail. You are extremely talented in this line of work. Awesome job!
Where are you located? You should do a demo video playing the guitar.
Best to you and your endeavors.
Thank you so much! I am located in Mentor Ohio. 😊
I do have a video of me demoing the guitar! Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/K62CMezHIhY/v-deo.html
Verry good...
Thank you! 🤘🏻
awesome job , i’m pleased you change for black tusq , but i think chrome string guides and knobs will look better .
Thank you! I was torn on what color combinations I wanted on this build lol... I like the black/chrome offset look though! One thing I did change that isn't shown in this video is I swapped the cream TUSQ string trees to black ones. Fits the build better. 😊
WOW!
Thanks Michael! 😊

Who would've thought biotin makes for such a nice neck finish ;)
lol!!

Mate...what a fucking beautiful looking guitar....hope your very proud of yourself....well done sir👍🏻
Thanks Lee!! 😊
not usually a fan of dark stains but ,wow ,looks great
Thank you! Love how it turned out. 😊
I used the same "bolts" on all my strat necks. A drop, & I do mean a drop. of lock tight will ensure the "bolts" from loosening. Also will keep the wood from wearing.
Good call! I only use threaded inserts on my builds. It's a game changer. 👍
what is the first oil you've used for the body? amaizing result! I need that color too!!))
Thank you! I detailed the full process in this video (link below). The oil is Odies Oil and the stains are from StewMac 😊.

@@AugmentGuitars thank U so much!))
This body color looks stunning, great job. Can you share what kind of bridge do you use? Im working to put full size humbucker into my telecaster but can't find the bridge with proper screw hole placement.
Thank you! Sure! I believe it was a cheaper version of this Gotoh bridge. I don't see it on Allparts anymore... but it looks identical: www.allparts.com/collections/bridges-for-tele/products/tb-0031-gotoh-gtc202-humbucking-bridge-for-telecaster?variant=18579877036089
Beautiful work! Were you going for the George Harrison "Get Back" Rosewood Tele look?
Thanks DWB! I wasn’t originally but now that you mention it, I do see a lot of similarities! I’ve always wanted to make a rosewood Tele… I’ll add it to the list of future builds 😂. Glad you enjoyed the video!

Amazing build! Great job! 🤌👏🔥 What kind of humbucker did you use if I may ask?
Thank you! I used a Silo humbucker from Bare Knuckle Pickups 🤘🏻
Oh Rabea's pickups. Nice choice!
Very Nice work on this guitar, I am planning on building a HS Tele Partscaster myself. What type of pickup did you use in the bridge?

Beautyful. If I should say one thing That could make it better I would say gold hardware.
Black and gold always looks great!!
I am not big on the black guitars....I will have to reconsider after this one
Don’t be racist
Lovely vid. Question - why do you favour the screw inserts and bolt over the standard screw?
Thank you! I like using threaded inserts for my necks as you can take the neck off and on as many times as you like and the screws will never strip out (granted you are putting them in straight lol). I also feel like you can torque down the screws a bit more with threaded inserts. Either way, it doesn't matter too much in the grand scheme of things.... Just a little extra feature I like to add to my builds. 😊
@@AugmentGuitars thank you for this. It’s got me thinking because you adjusted yours during the setup. I’ll have to consider it too. Thanks again.
@@ektopia No problem! I also do threaded inserts for control cavity plates and direct mount pickups. Just ensures the wood doesnt get stripped out. 👍

Gorgeous guitar.... I'd retuing the string trees... just my opinion but a chrome or black set would look better. Outwith that...stunning
Thank you!! I actually did end up swapping the white TUSQ string trees for black ones. Looks a lot better! Good call 👍🏻.
Wow!!!! Beautiful!! How much is this and i will really save up for it
Thank you! This one is not for sale. 😊
Beautiful guitar! What is the brand of the stain you are using for the body?
Hey there! I used StewMac concentrated stains for the body and neck.

@@AugmentGuitars Awesome, and I assume the color is Dark Walnut? Trying to make something similar.
@@Alice_Unchained22 I used the SM medium brown for the neck and the black for the body 🤘

I know it's a matter of choice but I went through 2 teles that had contours to finally end up with a slab body. I just never liked the feel. Still, that's a good looking guitar. After reading the comments, I can see that there's a lot of people that don't understand what it means to be a Telecaster purist. If I want a 6 screw bridge and contours, I play my Strat. I have a 2015 Deluxe that has circuit board cards. One is for tele circuitry. Like I said in the beginning, it's a matter of choice.
I have Teles with both configs and I gravitate towards the ones with the contours. Most guitars I prefer contours as for me they are just more comfortable to hold and play. I am by no means a purist of anything lol! I have always had modded and unconventional guitar configurations due to my love of building and tinkering. I've always tried to combine the best designs from each instruments to fit my taste. I can respect the purists though! You like what you like. 😊
Exactly, if you want contours, play a Strat...
@@mattrogers1946 Why do contours have to be exclusive to Strats? It's all about player preference.
Awesome build mate, can you tell me where you purchased your potentiometer's from please ?
Thank you! I get most of the pots from various sellers on eBay. They seem to always have the best prices compared to StewMac and other stores. There is one seller named "The Art of Tone" that sells CTS, Bournes and a few other brands. Others on eBay usually offer free shipping. Hope that helps!

I know it's more work, but why are fret markers not triangles or squares?
Traditionally, its been for that reason, it’s more work! It’s easy to drill a hole and pop an inlay in. With other shapes, you have to cut them out with a bit or a chisel and make it super precise. It takes more time to touch up the corners and fill any gaps if they are there. I think blocks look awesome though. Worth the additional time and effort!
