The mom is literally so sweet and adorable. She made me tear up! 😭 Her daughter is also lovely and sweet. I am glad she ended up loving her mother’s updated dress! 😊

I usually like the remodeled dresses. The symbolism and respect paid to the mother is a priceless treasure. I am also a staunch recycler and upcycler. I never had the option and never thought about it at the time. I did wear someone elses dress and it was great. Weddings are hugely symbolic and the more important aspect is a good marriage.
Sadly many of the mind just can't let go of their daughters. As important as a dress is... Many forget it's the marriage that's important. The time and effort needs to go into the relationship. Not a dress

So much drama.... whichever dress you get married in ... and great if it,s your mum,s for sentimental reasons... it will have no bearing on the life that,s ahead of you with your husband. It,s one day ,one dress ... enjoy it .... but look to the future ahead of you more.
Could be that she places more value on pleasing her mother than choosing a new dress. It's only a dress, for heaven's sake. Twelve hours on, then banished to the attic. If she can do that little bit for her mother, God bless her.

I knew she would pick her mother's dress. Asian people are so good to their parents and Elders. So respectful and so sweet. She is absolutely gorgeous in that dress and has made a memory for her mother and herself that will last them both a lifetime. Many blessings upon you and your marriage darlin'.
Two dresses are the same . But i prefere the new dress it's realy sparkling
She looks beautiful in both dresses, so I can tell she really made her choice based off how the dress made her feel. Which is a good rule of thumb for any time you go shopping
Please, rewatch and listen carefully. The Daughter loved her new Dress. She felt it represented " her and her love " and moms dress represented "her and mom". That ought to have settled it.
REPEAT AFTER ME. MOMS you have HAD YOUR DAY. GET OVER IT!
That should be a sign in every wedding dress shop and in a contract many should sign

I mean I would understand this sentiment more if the mother was actually being mean, I think in this case she was trying to support her daughter but had such strong feelings about her own dress as well, and she didn't want them to get in the way of her daughter's decision. The daughter I think chose the borrowed dress because A.) it did look like the dress she wanted and B.) she wanted to make her mother happy and to show her love and appreciation for how well her parents have raised her. There are times on these shows when the mother is definitely forcing the daughter or gaslighting her into making a decision. I think in this instance the daughter did something sweet, because her family is so meaningful to her and she wanted to express that. Plus this dress actually came-out quite pretty, unlike some others on this show.
@@skitty449 The Mother didn't hear her Daughter, undoubtedly. Moms dress was " her and mom", The new dress was " her and her husband". That ought to have settled it. It's still Moms Glory Days, still Moms Dress! FOR land sake, she liked her dress so good she needed to hang it on a dummy in her bedroom and look at it.
The new dress was way better. Not trying to be insensitive but, the mom was way too attached to the idea of her daughter wearing her dress. This affected her daughters decision. I hope she chose it because she wanted to, and not just because of her mother; this decision could be regretted forever or cherished for eternity. Hope she made the right decision.
Diana F I agree she was attached to the dress but maybe it held sentiment for her. I think she chose that dress because of mom's reaction. Her mom did say that she had not cried since titanic 😂

But I don't think she would regret it as she said her parents were a happy couple that's not rare but hard to find. I think it's beautiful as my parents divorced when I was a kid. The dress is good luck 😄 Also the mom's lace dress was pretty and similar to the new. Only difference is sparkle💖
I don't think that she could regret this decision. Both gowns looked good on her and were pretty similar in style. The mom told her daughter to pick the dress that would make the daughter happy. It is an emotional situation but sweet because no matter what she chooses the daughter tries her best to satisfy her mothers dreams of seeing her daughter in the passed down wedding dress. If my mother had a gown to pass down to me from a marriage that was beautiful and successful I would proudly were it especially if it were updated in this fashion. My fiancé isn't marrying my dress he is marrying me. He will see me in many dresses but this one should be grounded in sentiment and tradition and surrounded in love and happiness.
Regretted forever? Please let’s not forget it’s just a dress. It will be worn once and then hung in the closet for the next 25 years or so. My choice was simple: which blouse looks best with these crops? No regrets.

The beading on the illusion straps of the new dress looked really messy. Like it wasn't even made by a professional. I wouldn't have chosen it either.
Can't believe these mother's put so much pressure to have their girls wear their old ugly dressed, fixed or not. It's the brides day not theirs, I thank God for my mother.
This show helps cash strapped families, brides who can't make a decision, or are afraid to make a decision, make choices or get help fixing a bad historical dress or the bride getting a new dress. The designer is amazing and the bride's do pick beautiful dresses. They can't have both.
Sensible girl. Beach wedding, you don’t want a train. The borrowed one was gorgeous and far more appropriate for the kind of wedding she was having.

I genuinely think it is the old dress remade because it's so poorly made. A bought dress would not have wonky straps like that. Thing is whoever sews the remade dresses on this show always does such a poor job, feel sorry for the brides wearing them tbh

The borrowed dress wasn't made properly. I mean, even with my old phone with a really small screen, I can't help but notice how poorly that vintage sweetheart cup shape? on the dress (it is crooked) is made. Plus, the way the beadings were sewn on the thin transparent layer made it looked so cheap.

Tastes differ, I always prefer lace over beading and crystals so I don't like the new dress much, for me it's very standard and its decoration, i.e. beading is neither sophisticated, nor glamorous, or stylish, the only good thing in the dress is that the form-fiting hip line complements the bride's body better as the silhouettes of the top parts are the same. But the bride said she loved the skirt of the borrowed dress which even surprised me.
I personally prefer the borrowed 🤷🏼♀️

I might sound harsh but i have no respect for mothers trying to impose their opinion on their daughters on their special day!

It's so much pressure for the daughter. The mother got to choose her own dress, why not let your daughter do the same. If the mother spent years of dreaming and praying for her daughter to walk down the aisle in her wedding dress, she needs bigger and better dreams.
No respect? The mother was still supporting her daughter regardless. Is it too much for a mom you just ask her daughter to try the wedding dress and consider it to just fulfill her dream? The mother mentioned several times she was fine either way and arguably seemed genuine about it.
This mom didn't really pressure her though.
She said no matter what she chooses she'd still be happy.
Other mothers on the show are either aggressive about it or use guilt to make their daughters choose the borrowed dress.

The new dress was 200 times more bridal with a Wow-factor.
The new dress fit better , looked better, and made her eyes sparkle..moms dress was chosen to make mom happy..but the sparkle was gone from Brides eyes..rewatch if you didnt notice her eyes.
I saw that, too. A truly loving mom wants her child to be happy. I think it's completely selfish to guilt your daughter into wearing your wedding dress on the most important day of her life.

The new dress was way better- the applique continuing over the straps, the waist sat better on the body, the skirt was beautiful. The dress they made out of mom's dress looked DYIed (the skirt looked like a napkin arrangement), I honestly liked the original design better. That being said, the reworked one was way more practical. I honestly believe the bride will be glad she chose the design which will be comfortable to wear on the day.
The straps on the remodel were a strange colour.. kind of greyish... spoiled the look.

I actually like this one. Usually the remakes are horrible. It is actually very cute for the type of wedding she was having.
My mom tried to make me wear her dress (huge poofy sleeves and such) to save money but thankfully when she opened the box it was not wearable. The cleaner had burnt it with an iron and boxed it without saying anything to her.

The mom was the best in this show. Lol. Between her “about to pee my pants” comment to “I haven’t cried this much since I watched Titanic.” She made me laugh. But the best comment was when she told her daughter she would be happy in whichever dress her daughter decided. That permission was everything.
I love how close the 2 dresses are, it's like Kelly was like a fly on the dressing room wall and seen the way the new dress looks boy they are close...love them both! Plus moms came from Hawaii can get more beachy than that...
The new dress was better, I thought. But it was sweet and selfless of the bride to think of her mother's feelings. The borrowed dress still had brown-stained lace in the bodice. But the bride saw beyond that. What a lovely daughter. It was very selfish of the mother to place that burden on her daughter though . . . I wish mom's wouldn't do that. After all, it is their daughter's wedding! They already had theirs! And the seamstress is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! Every dress she's made over has been stunning! Great job. I'm shocked she picked the something new. While I'm incredibly close to my mom and likely would make the same decision, she really seemed to be leaning to the new dress.
I would choose the borrowed dress no matter what. It's a family occasion, a family event; make it about that, not the dress.
