I love how her friend says he loves the dresses, but he isn't paying for it. If she wants two dresses she should pay for at least one if them. The fiancé was really put on the spot.
And she didn’t give a toss what anyone else thought anyway. Barely even gave them a chance to comment from what was shown. Hopefully they just cut all that out 🤷♀️
In my country we have 2 marriage events. One frome fiance, her family and their friends, and second from groom. So we have 2 wedding dresses, and girls buy dress for her side event by herself. Sorry for my English)
She said "I'll pay for it"
@@karaaliea7577 She also said he was going to pay for it & just had to put up with that 🤷♀️ She also said she’d pay for it once & didn’t push that at all, while she kept telling him repeatedly that he’d pay for it & then bragged about how she knew she’d get what she wanted from him.
She offered to pay for it even thoughtshe went by it the wrong way
This young woman was so disrespectful to her husband to be in assuming she could have anything she wanted at his expense. She blindsided him on the show in front of the world to see which was in my opinion was cruel. He agreed to her demand to save himself really. I think she figured he had a long sports career and money would keep rolling in but that isn’t always the case. She should have paid for the reception dress herself since she said he was paying for the wedding dress in the beginning.
certainly wasn't a long sports career, he barely played two seasons according to his Wikipedia and now works as a loan officer: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ricardo_Silva_(American_football)
So maybe she did pay for the reception dress. Who cares?
You are absolutely correct on this one! 😡
That's why it's called, Not For Long.
@@TV-el6uj Because it's about respect and how we treat people. Waylaying your future partner and manipulating him on a TV show without his knowledge is not a good sign for a successful marriage. I just read in another comment that they are now divorced. It's not surprising when one watches this interaction.
SELFISH! SELFISH! clearly there's no respect or boundaries. The man said 5000, you want reception dress. Girl look, keep the first dress and save that 4600, be financially responsible.
It's her wedding day.
@@TV-el6uj that was never the contention... Clearly she doesn't respect his budget...and then spend his money without discussing. And the first dress she comes out in is 10k... And in front the whole world what a slap in the face #disrespectful #noexcuse #SELFISH!
She doesn't think she has to be financially responsible she is marrying a football player that's why she acts like that
@@TV-el6uj why do people keep saying it's her wedding day. It's their wedding day and his opinion matters if not then marry the dress not the man
Absolutely agree with you. She didn’t even wear the 1st dress in the end. I found a wedding video for them & she stayed in the glam dress the whole time
ua-cam.com/video/UZZiulys3Sg/v-deo.html
I don’t understand having more than one dress for a normal half to 1 day wedding anyway. Unless you find two dresses you absolutely love & can’t choose, and buy them (or at least one) yourself, or discuss with whoever is paying in advance a budget that will accommodate two dresses so they’re not put on the spot like this poor guy! And if you’re going to spend so much on a spectacular dress, why wouldn’t you want to wear it the whole event? It’s not like 99.999% of wedding dresses are ever worn again.
We start off with Bride talking about what an exemplary young man her fiance is: then totally rolls right over him. Frankly I feel great empathy for this young man. Anyone out there have any updates on this couple? I'm feeling like I already know without a crystal ball. Very sad. Groom seems like a real gentleman.

How to ruin a marriage: Step 1.
Yaps. Dear ladies and gents, marriage is reserved for those who are mentally, intellectually, socially, physically, and **financially** mature. Mature first, marriage comes after.
He was totally shocked when she said she wanted two different dresses, totally blindsided him. She was wrong to put him a that position,I really pray that they work out and she matures
According to other comments, they divorced and the groom is now married to a gal named Chelsea.
@@almaeclu hallelujah
This is just wrong on so many levels. Buying dresses past the fiancés budget is just selfish and mean. Communication is the base of a good and healthy relationship and she ruined that. The way she said she gets what she wants irritated me. She's like a spoiled child.
Lol. She IS a spoiled child! She either came from a family that brought her up to be like that or she grew up hating what they were & decided to use men to get what she wants. Really really dislike this kind of person
She's not LIKE a spoiled child; she IS one.
This Bride is Nothing But A Massive Headache 🙄 & her Pushing Behaviour is just Intolerable too ☹
He seems so kind and down to earth.
Yes he deserves better.
I feel sorry for her husband, but he caved into her demand to buy two dresses too easily.
So it will be his fault when she starts over-spending during their marriage, because he has shown her that she can get her way when he is paying, from the very beginning.
Don't feel sorry for him. He knows his limits and they are still married after 8 years.
No. If she overspends in their relationship, it is HER fault. It's his responsibility to speak up if he has a problem with it
@@AmberTris and he is not a football player like she hoped and probably miserable because she is obviously materialistic
@@AmberTris Another commenter said they are not together any more, per his Instagram. I didn't look myself so, so who knows.
yeah, I just looked at his Instagram and it seems he's married to someone else, with 2 kids.
They are no longer together. I wonder why 🤔
After his football career he taught geometry at a high school in Washington DC in 2014. He’s now a loan officer with a home mortgage company in the Baltimore, Maryland area (where he’s from) and is married to a girl named Chelsea and has 2 children with her. He and Chelsea were married in 2019. They’ve been together since at least 2015/2016 which is the year their first son was born. Chelsea, he, and his ex fiancé all 3 went to the same college in Hampton, VA.
Then he wasn't married to Whitney for very long because they got married in 2014. LOL I guess we all predicted that.
Trust and respect are the bases of good marriage. Both these qualities are lacking in this bride.
I laugh at nonsense like this. Thirty one years ago I married a guy who didn’t have a dime to his name. We were both grad students. Thirty one years and 3 kids later, we are still going strong. I give this marriage two years, at most.
They lasted a year I believe. He met his now wife a year after he married this one so...
Or one year.. who can stand her!?
How disturbing is it to hear a bride say “I always get what I want”. Time to grow up and face reality.
I hate the consultant “I have a conflict, so I stick to the budget or do I go over?” YOU STICK TO THE BUDGET! Wtf??? If it’s not your money, don’t try to spend it!
The consultant was just like that bride.
WHATEVER GOES FOR ME she definitely matched the energy of the bride, but when you hear the man who is paying for the dress look at you and say “5k, no question mark.” You as the consultant, should respect that, while still trying to make the bride happy. Maybeeee pulling a dress that’s 1-2k over MAYBE, not immediately putting the bride in a dress 2x the budget!
I googled Ricardo Silva to see if he was still playing. Unfortunately he had a very short career that ended in 2013. This episode must be old. According to Wikipedia, he’s now a loan officer for a mortgage company. The way she acted, I’m sure that she expected many years of a NFL salary. I hope that she’s matured and not continues to act like a spoiled child. Good news is that they’re still married!
Just saw she's a PhD fellow at University of Maryland as of 2021. She might be teaching there too.
Yes, this episode is old 2014. I found their wedding video too. ua-cam.com/video/UZZiulys3Sg/v-deo.html
Someone said they are no longer together if you look at the guy's IG.
@@whatevergoesforme5129 I saw that too. The person said he's married to someone else. They had a child together but she still uses his name.
They are not married anymore.. I just looked up his Instagram and he is married to a lady name Chelsea Silva and they have 2 kids together! So glad to see he is with someone else
I'd have worn the see-through dress at the reception and the opaque satin one for the ceremony, which is supposed to be more conservative.
I felt bad when he said he didn’t have a choice. Boy you do😔
She looks so much like Rihanna bt aint nobody talking abt that lmao
Boy, is he in for a ride! 😊 She looks like Rhianna!!
1- While the bride should've told him, the issue isn't 2 dresses. It's do the 2 dresses add up to the $5K. She paid for the 2nd one so problem solved.
2- We can all tell he's a "nice guy" but it's also his responsibility to create boundaries. I didn't learn that til my 30s but her acting up is because he allows and fosters it. Makes me wonder what type of environment he grew up in why he wants to appease so much. Yes, "happy wife, happy life", but something is going on there with that.
3- Yes, these two are now divorced. Some digging stated the girl above has mental health issues, had lost custody of the kid(s), that she climbed the fence at the White House, but that she is also finishing up her PhD, if she hasn't done so already. Some manipulative vulture from New Orleans contacted him on Facebook in 2017/ 2018, they wed in 2019. She asked HIM out on a date (pathetic and thirsty), and he met her parents on their first date, which is generally/ should be a no no (She was plotting, like them Southern girls like to do). Btwn the divorce and remarriage, I'm not sure if that's enough time to heal but good luck to them. I hope he has learned healthy boundaries by then, cuz if he hasn't learned, history is bound to repeat itself.
Update: I googled Ricardo Silva and he married a NOLA native in 2019 after divorcing this hot mess. Pay attention fellas when the writing is on the walls.
she did not need the reception dress- that second dress was perfect for the entire wedding.
He is to blame because he ALLOWS her to treat him like that
His face when she walked back to the room was funny he was like “what did I just do

I stopped watching these for a while and I couldn’t remember why.... this one reminds me why. I can’t stand how spoiled and entitled these brides are sometimes! Makes me wonder how much of these marriages ended in divorce.
This one did according to some commenters here. They checked the guy's IG.
I am a woman and I hate seeing girls who uses other's money to fulfil their wishes. If you want something then why not earn and save and then buy? This is a disastrous way to start a wedding.
If there was ever a dress to say spoiled, greedy, childish, unholy.. she wins.
I feel that they're gonna get divorced. The bride definitely pressured her husband to agree to 2 dresses. A marriage requires teamwork!
Yep, your prediction is right.

I hope for his sake....they did not get married! Hoped they had a huge fight after the show and ended it. He'll be sorry if he did go ahead.

"He's a mama's boy" (uh oh) and she's a bridezilla. Yikes!

A bride should always respect the person paying. If the dream dress is over budget, then you should pay the difference.
I did hear her offer to pay for the reception dress, but I doubt he made her follow through. And I think it’s total BS she could pay for it herself, but I would love see the look on her face if he held her to it 😈🤣
@@ellenmason3833 wouldn’t that have been priceless😂 I was just saying that he was expecting her to respect the budget and only get one dress. Surprising him with that and having him pay for two dresses is kind of rude. Plus it didn’t seem to me like she was genuine in saying she would pay for it. It sounded a lot like she was guilting him into agreeing to two dresses. If someone is paying for the dress either respect the budget or pay the difference. @@ladyjustice1474 Like in the US? ”Child marriage is currently legal in 44 states (only Delaware, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island have set the minimum age at 18 and eliminated all exceptions), and 20 U.S. states do not require any minimum age for marriage, with a parental or judicial waiver.
Nearly 300,000 minors, under age 18, were legally married in the U.S. between 2000 and 2018, this study found. A few were as young as 10, though nearly all were age 16 or 17. Most were girls wed to adult men an average of four years older.
Child marriage - or marriage before age 18 - is dangerous. Even at age 16 or 17, regardless of spousal age difference, child marriage:
1. Can easily be forced marriage, since minors have limited legal rights with which to escape an unwanted marriage (typically they are not even allowed to file for divorce);
2. Is a human rights abuse that produces devastating, lifelong repercussions for American girls, destroying their health, education, economic opportunities and quality of life; and
3. Undermines statutory r*pe laws, often covering up what would otherwise be considered a s3x crime. Some 60,000 marriages since 2000 occurred at an age or spousal age difference that should have been considered a s3x crime. “

Yeah it’s such an ugly look. Not even sexy anymore but pure trashy. I actually hate these extreme low cut dresses like at least the cut could be a bit higher and not right below the hip where it looks weird
Seeing her showing through the dress ruined the look of the dress. I though I was the only one who thought it looked awful.
They don’t think they think their guest are desperate to see them half naked. They have the right to wear whatever, and no one has any right to judge anyone based on how they dress. Honestly don’t think it’s really pretty and honestly if you have nothing nice to say don’t say it at all. Too much Negativity is really bad.

He needs to rethink this marriage. She just showed him what she's REALLY about. He needs to believe her. Once they're married it'll only get worse
I felt so sorry for the groom - the poor guy looked like a deer in the headlights when she dropped the news that she was getting TWO dresses, and HE was paying for them!!
If I was her husband-to-be, this would be the moment I said no to the wedding.
This dynamic has been going on for years, so it doesn't seem to be bothering him that much, or he was raised to think it's his "job" as the man.
@@theprousteffect9717 Well I just read they are no longer together he filed for divorce and remarried to a Larina.
I don't understand why a person would want a reception dress as well.
You get to wear that perfect wedding dress for one day. Why would you want to change into something else after the ceremony?
I get like a smaller more movable dress but not a SECOND wedding dress. That pet seemed weird.
To show off how much money of his she spent? 🫣
In the Asian culture, we wear 3-4 different dresses, but they are no where as expensive as this. My former friend spent only $900 on her white wedding dress, $200 for her reception dress, $150 for her Chinese dress and $500 for her Vietnamese dress. She got all of her outfits for a good price and they were all nice. You can get nice dresses for cheap.
I feel for this young man. He needs a companion who is on his side and encouraging and supportive. He does not need a gold digger. Such a shame.
I feel sorry for the groom, He is a very sexy black boy. I’m sure This marriage does not last more than a few years…
You're right.
On August 1, 2013, the Detroit Lions released Silva. He joined Teach for America in 2014. Ricardo and Whytnee married in 2014 and she wore her wedding dress during the reception as well. I'm thinking that the two later had a conversation about that second dress.
They divorced and he is now married to Chelsea Dunn

The way she said "I'll pay for it". Such manipulation. She knew he would say he would pay for it.
$3400 for a dress or purse is fine if you can afford it. it might be cheap for some people, but it’s definitely not for many people. it sounds like she might be able to afford it on her own, but it also sounds like she spends his money… seems like she has some gold digger vibes but not at the same time. i hope they are actually happy together though.
They are no longer together ! I googled it after someone commented .
People who say, "I always get what I want" are insufferable 🤮 This bride is obviously one of those awful people who walks all over others' feelings and opinions, because she's such a special little princess. I predict that this groom will come to his senses and divorce this spoiled brat...let's hope so, anyway
If the comments below saying that they are now divorced are true , I’m very happy for this poor man. I know it’s hard to judge someone’s character off a clip on a reality show but this is not how to begin a marriage. She feel so entitled… If she wanted two dresses, she should’ve paid for it herself. This is absolutely so pathetic and she should be ashamed of herself.
If she’s so bothered about gettin an expensive dress, she should pay
Especially when she didn’t even wear the first dress! ua-cam.com/video/UZZiulys3Sg/v-deo.html shows she stayed in the glam dress all the way through
Her fiancé’s face says a lot. 🫣🫣🫣🫣
The 2nd dress she chose is hideous.
Looks cheap and tacky.
