She was very rude and arrogant. The consultant was smart to show her that the real problem was her budget.... That humbled her immediately.
on the one hand, yeah, she was looking for champagne tastes on a beer budget, on the other hand i understand when she pulls the dress she likes and they say "that's $4000" and she says "that's not reasonable." she's right, the prices at bridal shops (and especially this one) are just extremely unreasonable from the get-go, unless the bling on that dress was actual hand-sewn diamonds $4000 is insane. she could have had what she wanted if she had just commissioned a seamstress to make it for her, i've seen dresses like that on etsy for less than $1000.

Exactly. She was so cheap. Wanted the best of everything but wasn't willing to pay for it! She very quickly changed her mind!! Cheapskate!!
While working in the women's department at a famous out let store My boss who was from France was the same way arrogant, self important, rude and to top it all off she also was a narcissistic bully who got her jollies on playing associates against one another. Or creating an atmosphere of somewhere the next shoe will drop and you entire shift walking on eggs shells.

Wow! Hat's off to the consultant! She handled the bride's attitude well. Maybe if the bride had gone online and looked at dresses prior she would have realized the price point of the dress she wanted and adjusted her budget accordingly? And you have to learn how to talk to people.
I'd agree but when I have looked at wedding dresses the websites don't seem to list the price but maybe I'm not looking hard enough. That being said she was still ridiculously picky and I got a bit cross when she talked about the consultant not being able to do her job! She was doing such a good job with a very difficult client 👏
@@eleanorwilliams7771 Yes, that bothered me also. How can you say that about someone. She was doing quite well especially with someone that picky and rude. She held her composure. It may have helped if she would have brought in a picture also of the type of dress she wanted.
I totally 💯 AGREE! Becoming engaged and not “HAVING A CLUE” about looking at/for Wedding dresses is something that usually would take COMMON SENSE for the Bride-to-Be, you would think 🤔???

@@brittany6954 The prices for the dresses depends on a lot of factors. How many alterations, when they need the dress for, how much or little fabric needed, fine details that would be added or removed that they don't show us on the episodes, etc. A dress for me (5'3" and round) would cost more that one for a petite 5'3" woman in the thought of how much fabric. And then on top of that, it also depends on what they're able to do when it comes to pricing per person per heart to heart. At these boutiques, the ones they're showing them are samples. Depending on the shop, you can buy the samples sometimes, some may be still getting made but they are out of season, just a lot of things can factor into price. Since all of these can't really be accounted for they don't put prices online too often. The issue this bride had was that she didn't see that her demands were just too much even when she was telling her bluntly until she had her do it herself. She was belittling her because she thought the consultant wasn't good at her job when in reality, the bride was just too demanding.
This client is so rude. Hats off to the consultant’s patience to deal with her. Loved it when Rina asks her ‘Is this WOW enough for u’ 😂

When she said, a minute in, that she is straightforward and expresses herself too much and too loudly in public, so much so her partner is ashamed.. and then called it quite funny.. I knew we were in for a ride. That’s a nice way of saying she often makes a scene. Yay.

That’s the point lol he always goes over budget, blames the costumer when HE can’t find the dresses, and whenever consultants find a dress he takes credit for their work. She was obviously having a hard time he’s the boss ofc he should step in. She handled it like a boss tho.

This is the first time I think I heard a consultant from this store tell a bride prior to putting on the dress that it was over budget and give them the choice of whether to try on the dress or not. Nice job!!!!

True, they don't usually stay within budget straight away. They push all expensive dresses. Rina did a great job.
It's quite possible they discuss price on over-budget dresses (obd) but the footage never makes it to air. I have come to this conclusion as I don't recall a bride looking shocked at the obd prices.

I’m a fashion sales lady and I deal with such rude clients very often. Their standards are much higher than their budgets, but the attitudes are lower than anything. Hats off to this consultant for her patience and understanding
As a French girl, I just wanna say... We are not all like that at all. Her behavior was rude even by French standards. We value politeness too. It's one thing to know what you want but you can be nicer about it.
Sometimes consultants don't do their job or listen to their clients, but honestly don't think its the case here. The fact the customer blames the consultant straight away instead of thinking 'maybe this particular store just doesn't have the styles I'm looking for' or 'maybe the list in mind is unrealistic'. The things she said during interview were so rude. Saying things like 'I have to do her job and find the dress'. Its one thing to have standards but its another thing to have an attitude. The consultant was doing her job, and very well in fact. Even noticed she was pulling out dresses then saying 'she wont like this', 'she may like this' shows she did listen. Gosh, I'm so annoyed.

Rina is the sweetest consultant ever, especially in SYTTD England you won't find any other consultant struggling to find the bride a dress respecting HER BUDGET 🙂
And THAT is what tact looks like. GREAT bridal consultant and.....I hope the bride sees the video and makes an effort to speak to others in a more positive manner. We can always learn to do better when we realize we are in the wrong.
I hope the bride reads these comments and actually takes them to heart. Congratulations to the consultant, excellent people sills. My daughters dress was purchased in that shop and the staff were wonderful
And to top it off, she never even wore the dress. She ended up with a rather underwhelming lace top with lace straps and sweetheart neckline and A line tulle skirt.

This bride is too arrogant to ever think let alone admit that she could be wrong. Borderline Personality people never accept the blame for anything, and the other person is never allowed to be right. Ask Johnny Depp what it is like to deal with someone like this woman.

I would have stopped her from being so rude. To me she has a narcissist bossy controlling manipulator attitude about her throughout the video. I give the bridal consultant stars for being so nice. She went way beyond her duties. She was very patient

She is the classic French stereotype but most stereotypes are driven by the loudest, most obnoxious people not the average person. I'm American and I don't want to be judged by Meghan Markle's behavior. She certainly doesn't represent me or the people I know.
Rina was super patient with this bride Her expectations were too high.

Rina did a great job dealing with this woman with absolute grace. How many of us would have been so composed?
I would have had to go to the restroom and hit the nicotine vape so I wouldn't smell like cigs, and THEN come back. Commercial break TLC = smoke break lol

Gold medal to the consultant! When her friend said it brought out another side of her, she wasn't kidding! Hopefully, bride will learn kindness one day.
I believe that brides should be able to find their dresses on their own by looking at the dresses themselves because they know what they want. The consultant can just direct them to the price-range and styles. It is also less time-consuming because it will be the bride picking from the collection instead of describing what they want which many seem to fail to express properly.
Yes that's what I did when I chose my dress! I was told where the ones within my budget were and told to choose 5-6 I wanted to try on, it was great!
AND also give them a realistic scope of what their budget has to offer
Ha! I love it when the consultant politely, but basically, said: you may have all the requirements and the "taste" but can you back your talk with actual money?
I find her "taste" , as demonstrated by what she wore to this appointment, to be questionable.
Part of the problem was yes she was VERY condescending and rude behind Rina's back but I also don't think she had any idea what dresses cost so she thought Rina was being just lazy or incompetent when Rina was working within HER budget. Many people don't know that buying a nice dress normally which might cost 50-100 bucks in the bridal world means you are spending 20x plus that for a dress.
But she had tried on many dresses at other stores.

people are used to buying stuff that has been manufactured on production lines in countries without a minimum wage and in generic stores where you have to find the clothes yourself. Wedding dresses are made to order and made by hand. Beading takes many many hours of work. Plus you are also paying for the prestige of the designer and the fact that you have someone waiting on you hand and foot for an hour. I agree wedding dresses are overpriced for what you get thanks to PR- but that is the business you are shopping in so you suck it up or get something made.

I had a former friend who's also French and was the same way. She said that's just how they are and everyone just has to deal with it or stay away from her.
I was about to mention the same thing. She thinks she is damm gorgeous like a Queen. She must bring its her job. Really? I mean no need for it.
When you speak a (new) Language there is a new personality that comes with it because every Language has a cultural backround, apropriate tone voice,.. As you can notice she isn’t a 100% in english yet and therefore hasn‘t been able to develop the personality that goes with english yet. What you can say in one Language in a totaly normal way can be totaly rude in another Language. I speak 5 languages I know what I’m talking about. Greatings from Germany 👋

She wore a different dress. She seems to have lots of friends and family who adore her. That's the impression I get from going through her family's online social media. Maybe the show upped the drama.

I sometimes wonder if a person is truly arrogant, or using it as a shield to protect themselves.
The consultant very professional, showed the bride the reality of how much each dress cost and why. (Personally I think all bridal dresses are overpriced) once the bride understood, she had know choice but to open up to other possibilities. Best wishes to the couple. They're going to need it.
I don’t think she is arrogant. I think she was anxious about her wedding and that is how it came across. I can’t imagine trying to describe something so abstract as how I would like a dress to look and make me feel in a language that is not my own. Also, keep in mind she is French and some of the ways she worded things would not come across as rude in that language. I a francophone and I work in an English school with a population that is Indigenous. Communication issues come up regularly and patience and understanding are a must.
Don't wonder, she is really this demanding and rude. Look at the way her mouth shows her impatience. It is actually reflected in her whole face.

She was arrogant. Probably to hide her insecurities those dresses looked good on her but she probably doesn’t think so.

And she is. She is a narcissistic person, and it doesn't matter why right now. You don't treat people badly, especially someone that's trying to help you, and then later fake humility because you realize you just ate sh*t. She's a spoiled, entitled brat. If you can't interface with the world because you're so internally angry, then don't.
I disagree with your opinion of wedding dresses being overpriced, as someone who sews. A LOT of the beadwork is VERY time consuming and hand-stitched, so you have to factor in labor costs, besides materials to make a dress. It adds up very quickly, especially in these times. Not like a few years ago, when everything was cheaper.

ugh i remember this bride the first time her episode was uploaded. how is anyone supposed to bring her what she wants when she describes a single dress as "too simple, too sparkly"? it can't be both. it's like she doesn't know what words mean.
I get that a lot of people here think the bride is annoying but I totally understand what means with that. Just cause the dress is sparkly doesnt mean it's suddenly interesting. A dress can be sparkly and boring at the same time

Give that consultant a raise, she’s awesome! The bride had ridiculously high expectations for £1,500. I’m glad she realised she needed to change her attitude & expectations. The dress she chose was truly beautiful, largely due to Rina’s extreme professionalism. Great outcome with a pretty demanding client. Great job!

The consultant, Rina was trying her best to keep in mind the bride's wishes for the dress while also keeping within budget. Some consultant's would immediately go over budget, David himself. Rina was incredibly respectful and kept her calm, while the bride was being quite rude. When she said behind Rina's back "I'll have to do her job", I was so annoyed with her. I understand Marion wanted to find the perfect dress for her wedding, but sometimes you need to pay extra for what you want. Other brides have also had a wake call when they've seen the reality of how much these dresses are and what they've been asking for. I'm glad Marion came round to being a little more open minded when it came to the style of dress and price. The dress she chose was gorgeous.
I feel like the only person who didn't find the client that rude. She's just direct, has a dry delivery, and was frustrated that she couldn't find what she wanted after trying on so many dresses. Her expectations weren't reasonable and she needed to be brought back to reality, which the consultant did. I'm surprised no consultant set her straight earlier at any of the other shops.

She's very direct! She might come across rude, but I've known French people and it's more of a culture thing. Also she said it's the consultants job to find her something she likes,which is fair enough as she's paying. I'm glad she found a dress she liked. Maybe she should have gone to Gok because his dresses are more reasonably priced and more WOW! And I think Gok would of brought out another side of her that's more likable.

In this business you need a lot of patience. When the bride realized that she should be more open to suggestions she was less rude and arrogant. You definitely have to pay more for something you love if the options are small.

@dietotaku Do you realize how much embroidery adds to the time and effort into making a dress? Yes, real embroidery instead of appliques costs significantly more.
Maybe some of the dresses were overpriced. IDK. However, the bride chose that store in particular, so she should have been aware of their stock and price points.

People buy Tiffany because it's name, not because the no name unbranded stuff isn't quality.
Don't get me wrong, a $4000£ dress isn't even in my orbit. My wedding cost $200 for the flowers and I did all the arrangements, bouquets, and boutonnieres. No way was I going over $500 for the entire wedding.

Love the consultant. She actually stayed within budget. I've watched lots of episodes that asked for budget but always give over budget dresses causing heartbreaks. Brides should always come to a realization and agreement to the price before trying on more dresses.

Consult was EXCELLENT. These type of people are straight to the point with their added rudeness. Consultant was straight too because that’s what they understand and she was patient. Yes, tell her she needs to up her budget. Consultant was very good at tell her this otherwise it would have been a disaster.
It surprised me that she kept pushing that she was French, but had such a low budget for a "perfect dress". I kept thinking don't the French have Haute Couture which have insanely priced dresses?
True they have haute couture but that doesn’t mean everyone can afford it. Bentley is British, so does every British person drive one? Or at least a similarly priced car?

One of my Favorite episodes. The bride looked AMAZING and learned some pretty good life lessons.
I think some things coming across as "rude" are also things that get "lost in translation"..meaning that even tough this bride speaks English quite well, it is not good enough to explain properly and she answered with very short answers because she probably didn't have the words to say it better.
What a nightmare. Whenever I think a Bridal Consultant would be an awesome job, I am shown why it wouldn’t. Hats off to the team and good luck to the groom! You’re gonna need it!
