For those of us who can’t afford to hire an electrician to hardwire new lighting or maybe you’re not sure if you actually want to add a new wall sconce or pendant light somewhere, you can still add wireless light with this easy and classy hack. As mentioned in the intro of this video, here are the links to other projects found in this room as well as links to the exact items I used for this DIY wall sconce hack.

Amy, I'm so impressed with this lighting hack, thank you! We live in a 1908 house with very few outlets so your tips are invaluable! 😊
I'm so glad this video helped. How awesome to live in an older home with character though.
We also live in a 1908 home, with lath and plaster walls above wainscoting. I haven’t tried drilling into the walls for fear of cracking the plaster and would anchor bolts work?
Those look SO good in your dining room!
Thank you, I really love them in the space.
Thank you. I liked your video, and it was very helpful.
Glad to hear that!
You are so creative and brilliant! I never heard of those bulbs and creating this type of lighting. Thank you so much for the video!
Thank you so much!
I give you many thumbs up. What a great hack and many “Thank Yous” for sharing with us…🙌🏾🎉
You did an amazing job of showing me this product and how to do this. I.have the same issue in my Diningroom where I don’t have electricity to the wall I want sconces on. thank you so much.
It's so great and affordable.
Hi Amy, I loved your video not only for the terrific information and hack but also very much for your lovely manner of presenting. I've just begun doing some serious redecorating and can't afford hardwiring, but love and appreciate and need great lighting! I've been going down a rabbit hole on UA-cam to educate myself on affordable lighting options, and it's so refreshing to not be yelled at and/or watch something incredibly aesthetically offputting! To instead enjoy a gentle soft sharing of information in a beautiful environment! Whew!! So glad to have found you and will be returning for sure!
P.S. I've been using rechargeable under counter lighting and it looks amazing. BUT I'm so tired of the constant recharging! I have been using two power strips and am trying to be as efficient as possible in terms of how to connect charging cords to the power strip but it feels like a lot of equipment to hide and a constant hassle to stay on top of all the charging. Curious your thoughts.
Oooo, how about a video on undercounter lighting with information on the best lighting strips to use, and how to create a convenient charging set up in the same room!?
I'm so glad you found my video. The recharging is a hassle. Still trying to figure that out.
Oh my! ❤ I adore lighting and vintage/antique. Your videos are very easy to watch and to listen to. I recently moved into an apartment with a woodburning fireplace. Today the chimney sweep came. Now I'm swimming in dreams of a large mounted mirror & wall sconces. And my ceilings are high and a bit vaulted, too! So excited. Thank you so much for your inspiration and wisdom.
That's awesome, glad this hack will come in handy! Enjoy setting up your new place - it sounds beautiful with a real fp and high ceilings.
Perfect 💯, just what I was looking for😅 I have some bed side sconce that I don’t want hard wired. 👍🏾
Perfect!
Very helpful video! Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
They look great. Thanks for linking the charger adapter.
No problem 👍
Woman you saved me twice today. New subsciber for sure!! You have soo many useful videos here. You can be huge! Thank you!!
Thanks, Laura! That is one of the nicest comments ever. I appreciate you.
You are an absolute GENIUS!
Thanks, Jason!
You done started something! I live in an apartment and changed the ceiling lights in the kitchen to match my beachy farmhouse boho shabby chic decor. I want sconces to match in the livingroom. Open concept. No lights in the livingroom. You get the picture. I’m going for it!
That is awesome!
OMG. You’re amazing.
Thanks, friend!!
Fantastic
It's SO easy to hard wire it yourself especially if you have a basement. You have electricity on both of those walls you can run from (piggy tail to).
We don't have a basement and I'm not ready to delve into electric work myself.
I have been searching forever for some option to upcycle some pillar candle holder sconces I thrifted. Puck lights were.... too directional if that makes sense. They also are a pain, as I'd rather buy 4 bulbs for 2 sconces and swap them out to recharge. Ima go check out those links and sesrch magic bulbs. Thank you!!!!
Such a great solution to use non-working fixtures. Great idea!!
How long does a bulb last on a charge? Sorry if that info was included and I missed it.
I have been able to use these lights for 3 dinners. I would say about six hours total, give or take.
Exactly what I needed
I'm so glad it helped!
Thank you! 🙏🏽
You are so welcome
This is nice and I see it becoming more of a trend. Wouldn't it have save some time and energy just to use command strips to place it on the wall?
Command strips wouldn't hold a light fixture... is that what you mean?
can these bulbs be used in a sconce that is already hardwired? My sconces are hardwired, but they have a pull chain in order to turn on the light. I want to buy a sconce that has no pull chain, but I need a remote for the bulbs. I hope that makes sense.
Yes, they will work in anything or just laying around - no lamp necessary either.
Wonderful! Have you found a way to 'hack' the candles type light bulbs? (Like the type in your chandelier)? Just discovered your channel, thank you❤
Unfortunately, not yet! But how great would that be?!
What a saver thank you what is the name of the drill you used..
Yes! It's such a great hack. I use Dewalt tools and love them, but any drill will work.
How long have your magic bulbs lasted? I really was ready to order, but it is 1.5 yr after your video and this product has poor reviews now. wah..........
Great question! They still work. They need to be recharged which is the pain. I don't turn them on often since their in the formal dining room, but when I do, I think I get about 12 hours total before they need to be charged.
are there any light fixtures that are powered via battery? i already have light bulbs that aren't chargeable, but cync with Alexa/security.
Not sure, but I'd check Amazon. I know they have wireless fixtures now but I'm not sure how they're powered.
I am scouring the internet to find a magic light bulb small enough to fit inside a specialty lighting fixture i bought- do you know of any place i can find them in different shapes/sizes??? I am desperate and very close to just returning the fixture
Amazon would be my go-to to search for this.
How long does the charge last?
I don't know how many hours total because we don't use the dining room daily. The bulbs should say how many hours when you find some to purchase.
Nice work. However, please think about not incorrectly using verbs as nouns...i.e., "Give it a tighten." Tighten is a verb...an action word. It is not a noun. UA-camrs really have adopted this bad habit. "Give it a press, " "Give it a clean"..."Give it a mix." etc. Just letting you know...otherwise, your video is very enjoyable. Thumbs up for your instructions.
I do not think this can be called a hack, since you are using the sconce for exactly what it is, a sconce. Cute idea, tho.
That's true. The hack is that it's wireless, but looks like a normal hardwired sconce.
