Halloween Coffin Charcuterie Board
Halloween Coffin Charcuterie Board
We celebrated my daughter’s birthday with a Halloween birthday design. When I brought her and her friends home from school, they were starved for an after school snack. The coffin charcuterie board was the perfect centerpiece to display the free for all snack assortment. I also added little wooden knobs to the bottom of the coffin which made it easier to lift up. The top isn’t attached which makes set-up and clean-up a breeze. You can make your coffin centerpiece any size you want.

Best Salt Dough Ornament Recipe - Cookie Mold
Amazing table scape! Where did you find the moon plates and are the owls napkins or plates?
I so wish I saw this before installing mine! I might have overlapped the seams just the tiniest hairline amount because I encountered the gapping and shrinkage problem too. Wish I could see how you fixed your gaps with colored pencils!
Hello, I’m doing this with my sofa and I have one question. Can you add water to the fixative? Every other method you add water but when you want to use spray method it doesn’t say use water, I have a big sofa so I will have to use at least 10 bottles and it is not cheap here in Belgium 🥲
Looks great! What a smart stuffy solution!
Hey there is no liquid starch where I live, what can we use in place?
Have you tried a organic paint? For example ECOS Paint or a lime wash paint
I haven't painted furniture, I read reviews about it leaving a crunchy texture. I have lime washed my walls, but I wouldn't do that to upholstered furniture either.
I made one like this today and I absolutely love it thank you so much
Great job! We still love ours!
Tried this and when it dried it began to come off the wall. Applied more starch. Same thing. I did it over and over and over. I don’t think it will last a week. I’m so disappointed. I rent and hate white walls.
That's so disappointing. My fabric looks the same as it did from day one. Are you using heavy fabric or slinky fabric that could have too much polyester... ??? I'm not sure, but my cotton based fabrics have done great and I love the price so much better than peel and stick wallpaper.
I love this idea to recreate for my vent. So, does it open up to use the storage space? Do you have a video on that? Thank you for sharing.
I really wanted to make it lift for storage, but I didn't want to spend the money on the gas lift hinges that it would have required for the weight of my cover - it wasn't worth it for the small amount of space we'd be able to access. And regular hinges were not strong enough for all my wood. I'm sure a pro could have figured something out, but I'm no pro~
What type of starch is it? Im from india i could only find two types when i searched on amazon. One was clothes washing stach and one was wallpaper starch. Im thinking of doing fabric wallarts.
I used Purex Sta Flo liquid starch (got it at Walmart) but it's no longer available at Walmart or Amazon. So, recently I purchased this one and will be trying it soon but I'm sure it will work just fine: rstyle.me/+azj331dO_31LByytFSvgGg
is this for any type of fabrics?
I don't think so. Too heavy, too thick, or too slippery will most likely not work or have issues. I have only tried it with cotton fabrics so I can only speak to those working.
Enjoyed watching, turned out beautiful! But I had a really hard time hearing you. Would be much better if you could talk louder! Tyfs
Hi. When I spray painted a plastic bugs in gold they stay sticky. Any suggestions @804_Sycamore😊
A sticky feel could be from painting in humidity, not allowing the first coat to fully dry, the quality of the spray paint, or not using a primer first... Some paints do take longer to cure, maybe give it five days and test. I hope it works out next time~
maybe you need more of a introw showing what your making / the final product. maybe you need to talk about your meshermaents in the voice over cos it sound like you don't know what they are.
So pretty!
Thank you, Tara! So nice to see your name pop up here~ I hope all is well with you and Ava!
Those turned out absolutely beautiful! I haven't seen anyone use the Mask and Peel so I haven't tried it but after watching this I most certainly will be trying it out.
Thank you so much! That mask and peel is awesome! I will be using it on our interior french doors. Best of luck on your project!

This is exactly what I needed, I’m so anxious about hanging my anthro mural! I’m getting going on it right now. Thank you!
That's great to hear! You're going to love it - just get a helping hand.
Beautiful, but didn’t the chicken wire scratch the paint on the mantel?
No, it's all good. The mantel has oil based paint and the wire isn't moving around on it.
Either plant it to match or stain it dark it looks very unfinished
That's an interesting opinion, but in-person it is darker and looks beautiful. I will be replacing the pantry door with a stained one to match the hood. It's also the same stain combination as my chinet built-in located directly to the left of the kitchen. All the wood tones are a light/medium worn tone - I don't prefer too dark.
Personal preference.
There's a gadget for small item close to blade cutting. One kick back might ruin the day for quite awhile. Bigger items are more safer with hand and fingers farther away from blade.
Looks nice at the finish. Thanks for showing your work. I think you could work on those corners tho. I am just gathering knowledge and I have seen some other videos making them look better. They cut off more fabric and folded it in a way that it disapeared in the final product. Again, it looks very nice and I dont want to nitpick :)
Oh for sure. I'm not a reupholstering expert, and luckily I'm not a perfectionist. The chair is so fun all around my home.
Stunning!
Thank you! 😊
Hello! I'm a new subscriber !!!😊 I love the sofa, It looks lovely! 😍 I have old antique furniture. That I would like to paint or dye. Yours really looks great. But so much work 😫 I may try this on something small !!!❤❤❤
The whole project didn't take a lot of effort, just time of waiting in between steps. You'll want to have an open schedule to start a project like this. Be careful about painting fabric, I've heard that even fabric paint can feel crunchy whereas dye doesn't affect the texture at all (at least in my experience).
Beautiful. ❤❤
Thank you! 😊
Gorgeous ❤
Thank you! 😊
Amazing
Thanks so much!
You are so creative, I love it! ❤🍁🍃🍂
Wow, thank you!
Thanks so much for this 😊🙏🏻
My pleasure 😊
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Thanks for the fun idea.
Thanks Judy!
I love the modern abstract look of the garland.
Me too, thank you!
So you just change batteries every day? Because puck lights suck batteries dry fast…
I suppose if I had these lights turned on all day, it would drain the batteries. Since this video, I've replaced the pucks with rechargeable bulbs. I still use these sconces for accents, not everyday task lighting.
I like it very much will try to make it
You definitely should - so fun!
Aren’t you pretty
can these bulbs be used in a sconce that is already hardwired? My sconces are hardwired, but they have a pull chain in order to turn on the light. I want to buy a sconce that has no pull chain, but I need a remote for the bulbs. I hope that makes sense.
Yes, they will work in anything or just laying around - no lamp necessary either.
is it possible to apply to walls with paneling?
I don't see why not. If the fabric is too thick it may have trouble staying on the wall long enough to dry... If you don't mind seeing lines from the paneling you could do a little test. Just use water to remove starch/fabric from the paneling.
What kind of pocket hole driller is that?
Kreg~
Excellent craftsmanship 😊
Thank you!
Can you explain why you needed to soak it?
If you don't soak it, it's too stiff to lay flat and will curl up. Soaking it softens and enlarges the cane, then when it dries, it shrinks and tightens. Thanks for asking~
Great idea!
you could probably wax the feet to resist the dye
Good idea!
Thanks. I've been shopping online for wallpaper but I have a beautiful collection of vintage upholstery fabric just waiting to be used instead. Thanks for this tutorial.
Vintage fabric sounds amazing.
Thank you for this
My pleasure!
I loved your explanation!!…❤❤❤❤Im following your instructions for my new barn door 😊
So glad it's helpful for someone. I love our barn door, we use it all the time and it's been great!
You are the first to comment on the fixitive because I could figure out why my couch kept bleeding that you
Oh good, glad you found out. It would be a disaster without the fixative.
Love this idea. Thank you.
Thanks!
Well that was useless....I already have the board /batten . .this title said how to install picture rail
The picture rail is just a special piece of trim that I added to the top of my board and batten. You can check out my blog post with links to the trim I used in case it helps. 804sycamore.com/board-batten-lr/
Total waste of time. Thumbs down.
Прелесть👍🏻
Спасибо
grrr not a hack an ad for tape you buy at the shop that is made specifically for this job. you should declare that this is an ad.
It's the best solution to easily open my window and shower curtains.
