I have an old Garrett without the number readout! And I’ve found things that a lot of people miss, but never a diamond ring!

I found a lot of gold using my At Pro or At Max. Most of the gold was found in the mid-forties. I upgraded to the Equinox 800 and ended my gold streak. I found a lot of silver jewelry and silver coins but no gold. One rainy day last year I took out my old AT Pro and scored a 10k ring at a local park. It was a solid 47. Now I switch off using my Equinox and the AT Pro or Max.

I started detecting seven years ago. I spent the last two years specifically digging mid tones and foil signals trying to find gold. Although I have found some rings, no gold yet.

Try my episode 79. Stick with it and hunt swimming areas. That will increase your odds. Where people lay before they swim and also dig out where they swim.

@@DirtyMoneymetaldetecting all of the public pools around my area are all one big concrete slab. I've tried a few spots in the river where people swim and have found lots of coins, but no jewelry yet. One spot turned up a 1878 seated quarter though, so can't complain about that.

Well stick with the mid tones. In the end it will be worth it. Lots of coins, tokens and relics are midtones. When you finally get that gold ring or coin it will be worth it.

I like to watch this again and again when I not finding any gold rings and I find a lot. but, only 2 this year. I am slipping out of areas to hunt. Might have to move to Florida.

Florida is great for gold rings, but we have a bunch of lakeside parks here in Montana. They are great for grabbing gold. I have one park where 12 gold rings have come out of there for just me so far. Anywhere people lay out and go in and out of the water.

Don't forget your own advice. I think it's the best advice you ever given. I know they call it cherry picking, but I got a lot of gold rings. Thanks

I found two REALLY heavy 14k rings and a smaller 14k ring with a small diamond in it on a freshwater lake that was low in 1996. Back in the 1970s I found an 18k ring in my grandpa`s yard.

@@DirtyMoneymetaldetecting I found those three rings in under 30 minutes that day. I lived on a tourist lake and found a lot of coins and rings there. Nobody had ever detected most of the best spots.

@@baneverything5580 That is awesome! I've gotten 2 gold in a day a few times, but never three that I can remember. That is definitely the best is when you find a virgin spot. I think I might get that blue 3 nemo this year, so I can get to more virgin spots.

@@DirtyMoneymetaldetecting I got my detector at Radio Shack. The first one I had was a very expensive Whites that my dad got in the 1970s and this one had target ID which blew my mind. It was the most expensive one they had there. I think it was made by Bounty Hunter. It had manual ground balance and a 7 inch coil.
It had several modes...some with different tones and an all metal mode that was so sensitive that I found a very tiny wire bream hook that I dropped in tall grass on a river bank one day while fishing. It could detect number 6 shotgun pellets from an inch away.
I would hit old baseball fields and playgrounds in the area on cold days and mop up the quarters first, then go after the rest of the coins and rings later. It paid for beer and gas.
My nephew bought me a Bounty Hunter Pioneer 202 on sale really cheap and due to old injuries from a car wreck I haven`t used it much. It doesn`t have the sensitive all metal mode for smaller objects. I found a very worn Walking Liberty half dollar with it and of course a couple of Hotwheels toy cars. Back in the 1970s there was still silver everywhere. It was easy to find but not anymore.

@@DirtyMoneymetaldetecting There`s a lot of gold in those swimming holes. They were working on the dam on that lake and the water was about 7 feet low. On down the lake a guy with a much better detector beat me to some great spots and found one gold ring with a ruby in it that he said was appraised at 3500.
I found a wallet one day with a metal chain on it near a boat ramp. It was kinda suspicious because it was clearly buried under grass beside a telephone pole. But it had ID and hunting and fishing license that hadn`t expired so I located the guy in the phone book then met him halfway to return it....then he accused me of stealing his money. Cussed me out. Threatened me. Didn`t even thank me.

700 pull tab slump I hear you.. I got one lake swimming area that has got me like 2 small gold bands and a few silver rings. But just feet up from the swimming area I been pulling tabs like tabs gallore and no rings in this area. But I am going to camp out and pull every tab till there are no signals before I stop looking for gold because I know this area HAS to have gold and more than a couple...

Keep at it. It will happen, no doubt. Dig near or in swimming holes and places people play sports to increase your odds.

The number for gold depends a bunch on the size, but whatever that number is the white gold version will usually ring 2-3 numbers lower depending on your machine.
