The Stanlick formula: Gear Ratio = 1 ÷ (1 - ((1 - (1 ÷ Point of Convergence)) ÷ Convergence Factor) • (Final Term)) Explanation: • Point of Convergence: This represents the desired 1st gear ratio upon which all other ratios will converge. It sets the foundation for the exponential progression of subsequent gear ratios. • Step-Length: Calculated as Number of Gears - 1, or (N - 1), is the amount of steps between the Point of Convergence and the remainder of the steps, or in this case, gears. For a 10-speed you would have 9 steps, for a 9-speed it would be 8 steps, for an 8-speed it'd be 7 steps, and so on; just be sure that the difference between the Final Term Floor and the Convergence Factor is always equal to (N - 1). • Convergence Factor: This controls how quickly all steps (or gear ratios) converge towards the final step (or ratio) that is at the Nth step (or gear). It's closely tied to the Number of Gears (N) and the desired Overdrive because: Convergence Factor + / - (+ / - Final Term Floor) = N - 1. The Convergence Factor is always minus a (negative Final Term Floor value), and plus any (positive Final Term Floor value). The Convergence Factor must be reduced or increased according to whatever value the Final Term Floor is to follow the rule N-1 = Step Length, which ensures that the Step Length is constant. • Final Term: This term is incremented for each gear, starting from the highest (final) gear and adding +1 to it for each preceding gear. Its floor value determines the Drive Level. A Drive Level of 0 = no Overdrive (1.00 : 1.00 top gear) whereas negative values for Drive Level such as -1 will produce levels of Overdrive. The opposite is true for values > 1, yielding more Torque Multiplication closer to the Nth ratio and producing Underdrive. • Final Term Ceiling is what ensures that the first gear ratio is achieved when it matches the Convergence Factor. This means that if you add 1 to a Final Term of -1: (-1 + 1) and make it zero, you'll get 1.00 : 1.00 as an output from the formula. If you add 1 again, it produces a number that is > 1.00. If you continue to increase the Final Term incrementally by 1, by the time it equals the given Convergence Factor, the formula will produce the desired first gear ratio that was set as your Point of Convergence. Example: • Using 1÷(1−((1−(1÷3))÷8)×(−1)) for a 10-speed transmission, it will produce the following ratios from 1st to 10th gear (rounded to the nearest hundredth): 3.00, 2.40, 2.00, 1.71, 1.50, 1.33, 1.20, 1.09, 1.00, and 0.92. • The reason it has 8 as the Convergence Factor is because it is for a 10-speed gearbox wherein there are 9 steps between the given ratio of first gear and the resulting ratio of last gear, so (9 + -1) = a Final Term Ceiling of 8, and that ceiling (8 - -1) = 9, which preserves the Step Length of 9 for a 10-speed. Whenever the Final Term matches the Convergence Factor, the result will always = Point of Convergence, which is in this case 3.00 at 1st gear. • Of course, if you keep the Point of Convergence at 3.00 but lower the Final Term Floor to something that is < -1, say -2 or even -3, it will produce several levels of Overdrive and will create a more gradual progression both converging to the Point of Convergence and diverging towards the Nth gear. The opposite of this is true if you want less overdrive and desire a final gear of 1.00:1.00. Just make the Final Term Floor = 0, and the step length of N-1 for a 10-speed that is 9 would be seen as the Point of Convergence because (9 + 0) = 9. Key Principles & Advantages: • Exponential Scaling: The formula generates gear ratios that follow an exponential decay pattern where going in the direction further from the Point of Convergence there is progressively less delta between consecutive ratios (convergence). This results in a "wider" ratio spread amongst the lower gears, prioritizing torque at lower speeds, and each gear above the previous becomes progressively closer on the delta between consecutive ratios (divergence) as they get closer to the Nth gear. Obviously, given the sheer number of gears and the other parameters in the formula, you can scale exactly how steep this exponential decay (convergence towards Point of Convergence and divergence towards the Nth gear) is and exactly how gradual or sudden it is to get the set of ratios that best suits your needs and vehicle using pure algebra. This is a mathematically precise way to take advantage of the nature of geometric exponential feedback loops, that yields numerically perfect and scalably balanced ratio spreads with zero guesswork beyond the input of initial values. • Adaptable Convergence and Divergence: The Step Length adjusts dynamically based on the number of gears and desired Overdrive as determined by the Final Term Floor, ensuring seamless integration across various transmission setups. • Precise Overdrive Control: The Final Term Floor value allows for precise control over the top gear's overdrive level, enabling customization for specific tracks and racing strategies. • Consistent Step Length: The formula maintains a consistent step length (N - 1) between gear ratios, ensuring a balanced and predictable progression for smoother shifts and improved driver control. Ratio Spreads from 10 to 3-speed • Here is a series of charts for a 10-speed all the way down to a 3-speed. I chose a first gear of 3.00 : 1.00 as it is a median between 4.00 : 1.00 and 2.00 : 1.00, and I adjusted the Final Term Floor to -1 to apply a single level of overdrive to all of the spreads. Of course, you can manipulate these values at will to make your own charts. • The formula used for these ratio spreads is as follows: 1÷(1−((1−(1÷3))÷Step Length)×(−1)) and here are the results: 10-speed: 1÷(1−((1−(1÷3))÷8)×(−1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8)) 1=3.00 (8) 2=2.40 (7) 3=2.00 (6) 4=1.71 (5) 5=1.50 (4) 6=1.33 (3) 7=1.20 (2) 8=1.09 (1) 9=1.00 (0) 10=0.92 (-1) 9-speed: 1÷(1−((1−(1÷3))÷7)×(−1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)) 1=3.00 (7) 2=2.33 (6) 3=1.91 (5) 4=1.62 (4) 5=1.40 (3) 6=1.24 (2) 7=1.11 (1) 8=1.00 (0) 9=0.91 (-1) 8-speed: 1÷(1−((1−(1÷3))÷6)×(−1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)) 1=3.00 (6) 2=2.25 (5) 3=1.80 (4) 4=1.50 (3) 5=1.29 (2) 6=1.13 (1) 7=1.00 (0) 8=0.90 (-1) 7-speed: 1÷(1−((1−(1÷3))÷5)×(−1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)) 1=3.00 (5) 2=2.14 (4) 3=1.67 (3) 4=1.36 (2) 5=1.15 (1) 6=1.00 (0) 7=0.88 (-1) 6-speed: 1÷(1−((1−(1÷3))÷4)×(−1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4)) 1=3.00 (4) 2=2.00 (3) 3=1.50 (2) 4=1.20 (1) 5=1.00 (0) 6=0.86 (-1) 5-speed: 1÷(1−((1−(1÷3))÷3)×(−1, 0, 1, 2, 3)) 1=3.00 (3) 2=1.80 (2) 3=1.29 (1) 4=1.00 (0) 5=0.82 (-1) 4-speed: 1÷(1−((1−(1÷3))÷2)×(−1, 0, 1, 2)) 1=3.00 (2) 2=1.50 (1) 3=1.00 (0) 4=0.75 (-1) 3-speed: 1÷(1−((1−(1÷3))÷1)×(−1, 0, 1)) 1=3.00 (1) 2=1.00 (0) 3=0.60 (-1)

Loving the game so far. However, I still find the so called ‘Roulette’ frustrating, as 9 times out of 10, like in Gran Turismo Sport too, you’ll win the lowest prize. It’s not exactly a random ‘Roulette’
If I was new to GT7, which I’m not, I would be very interested in playing every single game mode and discovering all the different aspects of it! Very informative video on the game! Well done sir! 🎉❤😊
I ha e only just purchased the game. Last one I played was GT 4 and I absolutely loved the game then and I know I am going to love this. I always wanted them to bring bikes into the game and make it an all rounder. Gran Tourisma is the beat driving game out there.
It sounds obvious but one thing I've noticed: if you're tweaking cars to a PP limit and have to choose between soft tyres and BHP, choose the tires every time. Soft racing tyres in particular allow you to hit corners at speed and explode out of them, hard tyres make you skid which slows your times and makes you more cautious around the track. The time you pick up in the corners more than makes up for any you might lose down the straights. Also: AMG Mercs are really powerful cars across any division if you want podium finishes for reasonable credit outlay
Also, while it might make more sense to slap on racing tyres and brakes, they're actually less forgiving. Race brake pads will lock up quicker or cause more understeer under braking with ABS on, and race tyres have a high level of grip but can break traction violently
heres a tip for avoiding a rage moment: dont even attempt the divine moves mission challenge. ive tried literally 100 times, and no go. slicks on an f1 car in the rain is just abusive.
So true, I eventually got bronze by undercutting the first driver on corner one and just barely keeping him behind me till the end. That was also on my 100th attempt . . . for Bronze.
I love drifting and Drag racing engine swaps in online lobbies. The car customisation is something I’ve lost serious time doing but whatever it’s so good/fun
Here's a cool idea, take a car from the used car dealership with high mileage and low PP. Then, out it through the GT auto and the tuning shop and transform it into an overpowered race car.
You're wrong about the stock in the used car section changing each day. I've had the same stock for over a week now. In the beginning they would change after finishing a menu.
The license tests are still generally easy to get golds other than S-10. But that one just takes time and practice to be precise and staying to the dry line.

I need an answer please! Let’s say I need to have car under 730pp to be able to participate. Should I buy a car that’s over 730pp and lower its stats, or a car under 730pp and upgrade it?
It’s cheaper to tune a fast car and make it slower than it is to tune a slow car to make it faster. However, of course the other side of that argument is that the faster car will likely be more expensive to buy in the first place. If you already own a car that’s above the required pp level then the cheapest way would be to ‘de-tune’ it, but if you are buying a car specifically for this then it completely depends on the car in question 😊
@@TraxionGG thank you for your answer! I asked this because I bought the Dodge Viper SRT GT3-r since it looked like it would do well in the Suzuka Circuit race (and it’s one of my favorite cars). But I still struggle to win this race (the one which gives you 75k credits at most).

Awesome video you posted great tips I just completed the license challenge 👍 albeit on bronze lol but it's really a challenge I wish I discovered your video before hand...anyway I'll use your tips going forward.
Here's some more, if you buy carbon ceramic brakes, you can change the caliper color in GT Auto , wide body in maintenance shop, also increase PP , you may want to change wheels to match wide body, with wide wheels and offset , adding ballast in rare cases, increases PP, because of balance shift , LSD, higher downforce usually decreases PP, but not necessarily slower lap time

Anyone doing endurance races, if you use the touch pad to swipe right all the way, in the bottom right you can adjust your fuel consumption for power or reserve fuel pressing up or down… Wish I knew this before lol
They teach you this in the driving missions, along with a few other useful things
Great video! As a beginner player this was very informative!
Glad it was helpful!
Love the driving. It is far more intuitive than any other gt game
The Stanlick formula:
Gear Ratio = 1 ÷ (1 - ((1 - (1 ÷ Point of Convergence)) ÷ Convergence Factor) • (Final Term))
Explanation:
• Point of Convergence: This represents the desired 1st gear ratio upon which all other ratios will converge.
Example:
• Using 1÷(1−((1−(1÷3))÷8)×(−1)) for a 10-speed transmission, it will produce the following ratios from 1st to 10th gear (rounded to the nearest hundredth): 3.00, 2.40, 2.00, 1.71, 1.50, 1.33, 1.20, 1.09, 1.00, and 0.92.
Key Principles & Advantages:
• Exponential Scaling: The formula generates gear ratios that follow an exponential decay pattern where going in the direction further from the Point of Convergence there is progressively less delta between consecutive ratios (convergence).
Ratio Spreads from 10 to 3-speed
• Here is a series of charts for a 10-speed all the way down to a 3-speed.
• The formula used for these ratio spreads is as follows: 1÷(1−((1−(1÷3))÷Step Length)×(−1)) and here are the results:
10-speed: 1÷(1−((1−(1÷3))÷8)×(−1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8))

Great video with everything needed for both new players and ones returning from GT Sport & 6 alike. The only thing I found missing is how the Ultimate section in the Tuning Shop unlocks. Keep up the great work!
There are some licence test and mission s that need fixing in the updates, mainly the dirt tracks. They give you the wrong tyres and virtually impossible to get gold.
I experienced that last night and noticed the tires on the hud are CM instead of dirt. I was pulling my hair out wondering why I had no traction like in the demo.
@@robertgodlewski8553 the same thing happened to me today....i was wondering how his demo car is simply sticking to the track like aimbot in shooter games....meanwhile i was drift miles into the barriers...🤬🤬
THANK YOU. I will killing myself thinking I was terrible at Dirt driving but I was using comfort tyres the whole time. I hate the EVO.

Never thought I'd love this game as much as I am.

Great video. Thank you. I definitely seen things I didn’t know.
Loving the game so far. However, I still find the so called ‘Roulette’ frustrating, as 9 times out of 10, like in Gran Turismo Sport too, you’ll win the lowest prize. It’s not exactly a random ‘Roulette’
This is so true.
It doesn't need to be exactly 20% chance for each prize, but the current ratio is kind of frustrating
@@RyuDraco_ yeah i totally agree!

WOW! The game pad tip made a huge difference for me I don’t use a wheel. THANK YOU
I love GT7. Just got a Fanatec wheel racing sim. Can’t wait.
I ha e only just purchased the game. Last one I played was GT 4 and I absolutely loved the game then and I know I am going to love this. I always wanted them to bring bikes into the game and make it an all rounder. Gran Tourisma is the beat driving game out there.
For some reason for me the used car dealership has mostly the same cars that it had when I started playing a week ago.
Same for me it only changes 1 or 2 cars so frustrating ive nearly completed everything and still havent had the chance to buy half the cars
Grand turismo 2 will always be the OG of grand turismos
I’ve learned so much with GT tbh
Thank you so much for the info. Very helpful
You are very welcome!
I'll be praying for myself as I drive around. But I'm sure I'll be having some fun. Looking forward to it.
I bought a Ferrari F40 from the legend car section for 1.4m. Not seen one since and it's my favourite car.
It's so funny when you hear PP so many times.
heres a tip for avoiding a rage moment: dont even attempt the divine moves mission challenge. ive tried literally 100 times, and no go. slicks on an f1 car in the rain is just abusive.
It's an old-school hard GT challenge, that's for sure!

So true, I eventually got bronze by undercutting the first driver on corner one and just barely keeping him behind me till the end. That was also on my 100th attempt . . . for Bronze.

Ballast is great for dropping a few points at the same time you get a 50:50 balance.
While the ballast is useful, it greatly speeds up tire wear and fuel consumption on the races where tire wear and fuel usage is 8x-10x.
You really went into a lot in this video. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks a lot for the spoiler warning and the timestamp to skip to!👌
Nice, finally a game where I can improve my PP score.

Thank you!
That's a lot of SHEET to remember... (I'll see myself out).

7:45 or you can adjust each, if you turn them grey, that is the default number.
The license tests are still generally easy to get golds other than S-10. But that one just takes time and practice to be precise and staying to the dry line.
Ive been trying to gold this for 2 hours already lol
@@DoomiePookie I was in your position a few days ago. I just left that test on silver, played a bit of the game, watched some test guides, came back and got it. Don't stress about it, you'll get it for sure. Just takes some time.
It was fun trying to get gold on that one!
Keep going, you can go it!
For me the hardest gold to get was s-4 I think, in the castrol supra
The GT7 has a massive, massive flaw for me - chase cam is useless, feels like your car is going 40mph while it does 140mph. Impossible to judge braking points from the chase cam.
Go cockpit and never look back
I like being a hood ornament.
Is there a way to stop camera changing view in garage so you can actually view your car?
The amount of details that go into this game is mind-blowing. Last time I played a GT game it was far more simplistic than this lol I'm watching this like dang I need to take a training course and class to play this game and be any good lol

You will get there I’m sure! The races can be tough but the more you try, the better you will get. Best of luck and thanks for watching! 😊

I’ve got gold in every single License test, all from National B to Super, EXCEPT for the very last one, S-10! No matter how much I try I cannot control that fricking Porsche 917K on a damp Spa track. I’m a controller/pad user. There needs to be and update to help make this easier. Default tyres are Racing: Hard tyres, maybe using Intermediate tyres will make it easier, but you can’t change the tyres. So annoying I can’t gold this last License test lol
Note the gold ghost tip above and set it to follow than yours, good luck, I don't look forward to that, I'm half way through IA doing all golds, so 5 of them and the special to do yet... Cafe complete and some 800 races done too, porche Cup and ferrari Cup to get done, couldn't win them yet but placed, need a better car for them yet, haven't started the missions yet maybe one or 2, and happy days they addressed the dirt tyre error there in 1.08

The roulette tickets I’m sorry are not random. I’ve gotten over 100 and have gotten the smallest prize more than 80 of them. I’ve only ever gotten the top tier once which was a trash car. Random is not what it is.
Awesome video you posted great tips I just completed the license challenge 👍 albeit on bronze lol but it's really a challenge I wish I discovered your video before hand...anyway I'll use your tips going forward.
Here's some more,
if you buy carbon ceramic brakes, you can change the caliper color in GT Auto
, wide body in maintenance shop, also increase PP
, you may want to change wheels to match wide body, with wide wheels and offset
, adding ballast in rare cases, increases PP, because of balance shift
, LSD, higher downforce usually decreases PP, but not necessarily slower lap time
I'm trying my hardest to stay interested. But FH5 finally added online race filters. Time to switch the wheels on my sim rig back..
why it can't set gear ratio & add ballast in arcade race even brought the relevant tuning parts?
Great video you deserve more viewers
You are greatly appreciated
