RCA 39LB45RQ LCD TV. EEPROM Repair on main board

The main board number on this TV was E12080182-2A01192. V.1
If you order this EEPROM from Shop Jimmy it's important that you have the same main board numbers which are found on the sticker which is on the main board.

I have the same problem with an RCA 46 inch, model number 46LA45RQ. The red light comes on when you plug it in, then when you push power on button it turns blue.When you try to turn off, the blue light stays on with no other functions. The EEPROM appears to be bad order.

Thank you for your answer I already did menu 1147 the display comes out but do not go exactly to the place to apply it? I saw your video and it worked for me but when they changed the eeprom and then I turned on the television I got the image backwards. Thank you

I am working on a 46LA45RQ RCA TV and believe I am having the same problem... I replaced the power supply and now have a red power light, before I had nothing found a blown fuse and bad diode... I am still not getting any output voltages expect for 5v at the 5VSB pin... I made an offer on a mainboard and while I was looking through the listing on eBay I saw the eeprom chips and decided to research them and found your video... Thank you so much for making a good video on the topic I have a hot air station / soldering iron and can easily replace the chip hopefully it will solve my problems... Do you have any advice or know where to find a electrical schematic download... Thanks!

I read in another video that if you replace the eeprom that you need to transfer the data from the old one if not the AV functions will not work, is this true?

Eeproms can contain many different operating parameters which are necessary for the TV to operate, so yes you want to transfer from the old one to the new one if possible, but I try try to buy them pre programmed if possible. Shop Jimmy sells many pre programmed eeproms for TVs.

There should be something in the service menu to correct this. You will need to find the service code to enter the option, and then find out which setting in the EEPROM will repair this problem.

MrMac5150 Some of the electronic wizards own EEPROM programmers, but other than testing the input voltage and or input and output data lines, I have often gone by symptoms and solutions found in TV case histories. EEPROMS seem to be high failure parts.

Grants Pass TV Repair My guess is that TV's where EEPROMS is prone to failure, there is specific address that is being hammered with writes all the time (a counter etc.) and sooner or later that cell wears out and the TV stops working.

eeprom is heat sensitive. The heat(room temperature is enough where broken) messes the data inside, but somehow the correct data is still in there. To have the correct data, you need to freeze the chip which deepens your question. But for those who do electronics, those electronic dusters to clean the boards are really cold. Someone must have dusted their eeprom while fixing the tv and the tv worked for a moment.
